I Just picked this up yesterday. I was surprised you could use hands inside a hand and forgot a few times. Until that full house. Then it all clicked. For that. I think.
Somebody should tell him that you can switch the position of the play and discard buttons. I changed it, it feels more natural, and so it does to him, the way he hovers over discard each time he wants to play...
It's due to the left-right "cancel/ok" UI convention and "past/future" language connotation. Left is going back in space, time, or outright aborting; Right is going forward, next slide, accept warning, read more text.
That's because he uses the discard waaaay more than actually playing hands, he mulligans so aggressively that his muscle memory is going for that button
I love how when sean was deciding to put in the enhanced joker in and was thinking between getting rid of the flush joker vs the skip booster joker scrolled over them saw that skip booster was providing 0 multiplier and proceeded to sell the flush joker even though he’s been relying on club flushes that run and hasn’t skipped any booster packs nor had nearly enough enhanced cards for the enhanced joker
1:46:20 I just learned that red seals retrigger any trigger, I thought it was only when scored. I was thinking to myself that putting a red seal on a steel card would do nothing but he was right, it did work. TIL.
Fibonacci and Hack jokers are favorite combo in this game by far! Fibonacci is such a sick card. It's been fun watching you have so much fun with this game and figuring it out!
2:09:00 His whole deck is built around club flushes. Skips a joker that gives +10 mult and +4 mult for every club.... got too focused on getting the drivers license joker to work. Broke my heart
Even worse was building a deck around getting straights and flushes with clubs, and then selling the Joker that makes it only 4 cards for either and keeping the Steel Joker as well as the Driver's License Joker 😤
Not just that but when he got one of the jumbo buffoon packs and wants the enhanced joker (even though he didn’t have enough) looked at the flush joker then looked at the skip booster joker, saw 0 multiplier and proceeded to sell the flush joker
The reason you didn't feel as good about the first run is probably because you built your jokers and deck around 2/4 pairs, trips, and quads, but kept taking straight and flush planets after Devious Joker was already sold, directly contradicting the rest of the build. If you're building jokers around specific ranks like Even Stevens and Hack, then you don't want to be leveling straights that will only allow a few of those ranks in a scoring hand. If you're taking stone cards, which are GREAT for shoring up Hack's low-chip ranks, AND rank-seeking jokers that encourage stacking a few specific ranks for pairs, trips, and quads, the LAST thing you want to do is waste levels on 5-card hands that don't leave room for stone cards as kickers. You also don't really want to mix flushes with ranked hands, because that forces you to split your cash between flattening your deck by rank and flattening it by suit. In a rank-based build, suits shouldn't matter. The first deck didn't pop off because you had 7 levels in a hand type that can't utilize your stone cards and would be exceptionally difficult to ever combine with your jokers' triggers. More pair, two-pair, and three-of-a-kind levels along with more focused buys around maxing out 2's and 4's to get easier Even Steven triggers over hunting for perfect Hack straights might have achieved enough synergy to beat that run.
Suits absolutely matter in ranked builds. You specifically want your played cards to be an even amount of each suit to avoid boss debuffs and it's absolutely necessary to make sure your played and support cards are different suits for the same reason. I could pick apart more about what you've said, but finding 1 error in 10 seconds is more than enough for my mind to accept that you have no business critiquing plays. Another type C chatter just wishing they had the skill to be a type A
Watching Day9 use all his discards before playing something he already has, like a flush at the 2:00:00 game seems inefficient because after you play the flush you get random cards added to your hand, so instead of using all the discards first and being stuck with every cards it will give you afterwards, you can use a discard when you get a new deal of random cards back after you play a hand.
Literally every comment is an idiot that thinks he can pay this game well enough to critique others. You don't. You're objectively bad. He has a joker giving him mult when he has no discards remaining.
Depends on the situation in the game. If you know the hand you have is going to win, you can use the rest of the discards to fish for purple/blue seals or gold/steel cards.
Loved watching him play this but man does he have an indiscriminate hate for steel cards lol. I don't think he ever intentionally uses one properly or buys upgrades to create them. Such insane free multipliers.
Literally minutes after he asks chat for any one tip, and the tip is about steel cards @ 2:55:23, he plays steel when it could've stayed in hand @ 2:58:12 , let alone his reason for skipping steel cards is wanting a straight flush which isn't even better with all the flush upgrades
And when he upgrades steel or gold, he always does it to cards he WANTS to play. When it should be the opposite and upgrade cards you want to KEEP in hand.
More type C chatters here I see. Nothing in the game or life is free, everything has opportunity cost. Steel cards are good, but not for every build and they are most certainly not free.
@@Zjhill21 Upgrading cards you're going to play with gold/steel is perfectly fine because you know you'll never hang those cards. Personally I prefer to use them on cards 1 rank less than the card(s) I'm building around, knowing that later I'll strength it to be usable. Even so, if you're doing it right you'll have 20 copies of your needed cards and having a few be gold/steel is far from a bad play. I promise you, if I watched you play for 5 minutes I could tell you 20 things that you're objectively doing wrong, because you have no idea tf you're talking about
Oh man, that hurt so much and yet was so funny watching him get the dagger, one of the most OP jokers in the game, not realizing it went off every blind and killing the run two blinds later. 2:31:00
No one told him he can use tarot in consumable slots whilst opening an arcana pack? Also him working out about the ordering of jokers mattering early in the video then completely forgetting about it later is peak.
Seems like a tutorial type thing. Some people don’t like searching every detail and corner of a game online. That’s a feature that should be told to the player. Anyways, I forget shit in between playing as well. Not all of us are Auti’s.
Started playing it yesterday, crazy good! Highlight so far is hitting 7 million of a round that needed 35k to beat LMAO This game has such a way of making my brain happy with big number, I love it 😄
I did finally beat 2 runs so far so that has been really fun. I had all jokers that cared about small hands and double triggered things so the mult was pretty wild
Had one where every card was considered a face card, all face cards become gold, and vampire taking the gold off for X mult. If only I had the retrigger face cards.
My backseat opinion on that 2nd game was you kept opening new packs/adding cards. Focusing on removing 6+ cards and only powering up the cards you have would have given more consistency and some ridiculously high chips on the 2 through 5's.
I wonder if you are supposed to not spend money in the first 2-3 rounds to get to 25 $ and start earning 5 $ of interest every round (and only spend until you have at least 25 $ left). This way one should have significantly more $ available over the corse of the run?
Letting ya'll (certainly not Sean, mmm-mm, nope) know that when you open a pack you don't *have* to take a card. You can click the skip button to keep your deck smaller if you don't particularly want anything in a pack you open.
Imo "Hack" is the single best joker in the entire game. Even without synergies it's a nice little flat chip boost early, but being able to have the easiest retrigger condition (minus seltzer, which expires) it can easily combine with just about anything, from card buffs to just about any joker that give flat mult (fibbonaci sequence is the best imo) reliably enough to be the backbone carry card at any point in the game. It's just so stupid good.
it's not even close but it's very good with fibonacci or the 2-chip scaling joker. mime is the best retrigger joker by far, creating x3 mult and beyond easily.
Gotta love him...but i cringed hard, when he got the taroo mult stacking combo on a blue deck .... and only plays 1-2 hands out of 5 available, while having save lethal in the backhand. Adorably kicking insane potential value from a cliff spartan-stile, while screeming 'oneshot! WWOOHOO' 💪 Keep it up! I wanna see you, when you got into it a little more.😊
My god Sean it stresses me out wyen your mouse instantly hovers over the discard button whenever you select a bunch of cards 😂 my misclick anxiety goes through the roof
Sean doesn't seem to grasp the interest mechanic, at least as far as I've watched, from playing a myriad of games I understood that going for that fast $25 to start getting max interest was key, I think I've won 5 out of 10 games or something, I downloaded the game today and beat it with 5 decks, game's a looot of fun, closer to auto-chess and slay the spire than poker weirdly enough

I'm going to make an obnoxious comment even though I have absolutely 0 skill, talent or knowledge of the game. My suggestion will also be so awful that if the steamer reads it they will never trust the chat again. What you just suggested is giving up 3 joker slots for a garbage amount of +mult and 2x mult. An hour in, Seeing him discard a pair of 10s when he has even Steven, walkie (10 and4), and repeat hurts
The amount of straights Sean missed in his straight deck is quite funny.
I immediately know I want to buy this game because of how angry I am at Sean's plays.
i've bought so many games this way that i'm beginning to think he does it on purpose
I legit banged my fist on my desk watching the straight deck run. If Sean had one more eye, he'd be a cyclops.
Forgets about the King in hand Joker, then plays for a bit, then gets angry when it finally works as a sacrifice.

I noticed he was doing that too, it made me worry a bit at first
Also think it's because we tend to select cards from left to right (like writing) so the right button would be closer/more intuitive to hit after
Helped me too. Basically for the reasons listed above. It just felt more natural

That's really good synergy, getting the low value cards to retrigger at the same time they are getting buffed. They'll end up scoring huge.
