- Here is a quick video of how to remove paint from your floor, (when you let your daughter paint her own room)!! So she had got paint all over her floor and we tried scraping, scrubbing, and chemicals and it was a pain to get up. Then I thought about my steamer I use to steam my clothes. Bam!!! that actually worked. So I posted this to hopefully help someone else out there with the same problem. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for this. I'm currently sitting in my living room with paint all over my floor thanks to my son and you just saved his life. 🙃
Chyyy me too 😩🥴
Same situation with my daughter
Love it you are funny!
😂😂😂
Omg same situation mines is on punishment but seeing this calmed me down. Thanks will be trying this today!
A year later and you’re still helping ppl! Thank you and the little painting angel. :)
Thank you for this! Gonna try it right now. Kudos to having your daughter clean up the mess she made. It’s great to have children do things they can handle. As long as it’s safe.
Dad you must be very proud of your daughter, paint on the floor or not,she did a very good job painting her walls.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🥰
THIS GUY IS AMAZING. BEST DAD AND BEST PRO HOUSING LIFEHACKS!
Wow, it is like magic. I think your daughter did a great job painting her own room. Good for her. She has learned a lot!
Your a good dad showing her she messed up and how she has to be responsible to fix it herself…. Teach to fish feed themselves…
This was a huge help. My 10 y/o daughter similarly got paint on the hardwood floors while painting her room. We used a steam iron over a wet rag to loosen the drops of latex paint. It worked.
Genius!! I'm hoping this works on primer too. I spilled a whole cup of it on my wood floor yesterday. I got most of it up with a lot of elbow grease but there were some stubborn spots. I like the fact that you are making her clean up the rest. Excellent parenting :)
This works!! I saw this and immediately tried it on my natural hardwood floor with paint that's been stuck on for about a decade. It took a little bit of elbow grease, but I'm thrilled. I have a few spots around the house that I just figured I'd have to live with until we had the time to refinish the floors. I'm so excited I no longer have to!
And to those freaking out about the water on the hardwood, it sits there for literally seconds before it's wiped up and completely dry again... Relax.
Thanks for the tip:) really helped out. You’re a good dad, and your daughter is very sweet.
Great video! You're a good dad! And it's cool that you have the patience to let your 10 yr old paint by herself.
Thank you so much for this tip. Incredible! Your daughter did a great job with her room! 😍 Go girl!
I never for one moment thought this would work. I painted the side of my house and got some paint spots on my deck, which I am going to waterproof soon. Boy was I wrong! It worked great and now I can finish my deck! Thank you so much!!!
So, while painting our office in preparation for converting it into a office/nursery for our upcoming granddaughters arrival this April, I accidently stepped in some paint that had landing on the plastic sheeting I had placed on the hardwood floor, to avoid getting paint on the floor, lol.
Not having a steamer available, I used a clothes iron. Worked awesome!
Thanks for the incredible tip!!
Awesome just what I needed for a commercial job ..your daughter is a good sport for helping out ..good man
Your daughter did a great job with painting her room!🎨
She did! I was proud of her. Not many kids would want to paint an entire room by themselves.
Everyone blaming their kids shoot I got paint all over the floors my damn self 🙈😂🤷🏾♂️
😂 me too
Ahhh me too I’m painting my trim and welllllllll there’s sprinkles of light blue and white on my floor 😭
Me too, I really thought painting would be easy 😂
Culprit has all te smiles. 😁 Well, she's quite happy with her room's paint work. Well done by herself 🙂😊
I was really proud of her. She honestly did a great job and not many kids would want to tackle a painting job like that.
And what a terrible thing for the father to say it was acmistake to allow her to paint. What a shame
Love the floors, this is a lesson your baby will NEVER forget lol
Thanks for this - exactly what I needed. I moved into a new apartment a few days ago and the floors were all like your one.
Just tried this today. Didn’t have a steamer, but boiled a pot of water. Poured it on the floor, let it set for a minute or two, and wipe. Thanks so much for this video🫶🏽
You poured the boiling water on the floor? I just spilled some paint!
@@lavag1rl646 yes just took a cup to pour it on the spot where the paint is and let it sit for a minute. It’ll look like it’s peeling then take a towel and wipe
Ayeee perfect thank you
Thank you, It really works great. Not only it cleaned the paint, but left the floor very clean.
Thankyou for sharing this video with us, I'm very grateful having knocked nearly a full tin of gloss paint over my wooden flooring, your a life saver x
Thankssssssssss... I had a steam iron, I used this trick and It worked like a charm. You saved my floor!!!!!
🙌🙌🙌 just saved me so much work. Thankfully I have vinyl plank floors so they do fine with water. But I used my steam cleaner with a little brush head and was able to scrub it all away including out of the cracks and wood grain with very little effort!
Thank you!!! My husband has no patience and said screw it with the prep work to paint our house!! Needless to say there is paint everywhere including LVT! Acetone and googone worked a littlr but it's still in the grooves! I'm try this method
Saved me from a world of pain. Your the best.
I am so glad I found this video!!!! I just did the same thing - let my 14 year old and 12 year old daughters paint their room!! The were supposed to cover the floor and they did not. We have a steamer - hopefully that will fix the problem.
Thank you sir I remodeled the bathroom I put flooring in first instead of painting walls I got a few paint drops soon as you said I hate ironing I knew I had to watch I’ll give it a try god bless you and your family
Just tested this on my floor that has 10+ year old dried paint on it and it worked. It'll be a lot of scrubbing off but it'll do the job! Thank you
Thank you for sharing. I have been using a steam mop and it does the job extremely well. That is a great idea for my smaller paint messes. I will be coming back for more tips.😊
Nice job on the paint job girly 😊 & thank you sir for sharing this amazing hack. I’ve been trying everything to get the paint off from floors without ruining them! Total life saver!
Love the walls. She did a great job. Marvellous colour!❤😂
I love you! My daughter just kindly decorated the living room but as she's not an expert got paint all over the floor, I tried white spirit to no avail, so went on youtube and there you were! Our Hero!!!
Haha thank you!!
Awesome, simply awesome, thank you for the great hack to clean up a headache of a mess.
Thanks dad... I'm going to try this. Plus,
my wife was just saying the other day we needed a steamer anyway. There are no coincidences. Take care!
Oh man! Love to you and your family from England. We've just finished a loft conversion and couldn't paint until after the new floor went down. Blotches of paint everywhere. Your tip just saved me a day of my life.
Wow, so glad that I found this video! Had never heard of this solution but what a clever one.
Omg! Too cute.
Not going outside until it's done 🤣
I was wondering how I was going to get a little paint off my wooden floors.
Gracias Amigo 🙃👍
This is awesome - thanks for sharing! Also props for letting your daughter paint her room :) it’s a hot mess but A+++ for confidence building :)
I never would have thought of that. I usually just use a bucket of scolding hot water and a rag or Goo Gone, but this is much more convenient.
Worked great! I was skeptical, but I bought a steamer and holy crap, it worked! Makes sense if you think about it. You clean you brushes with warm water vs cold and it cleans your brushes quickly. Thanks for the tip kind sir....
So glad your little cutie got paint on the floor. So you could share this tip. Thank you
Your welcome!!
So happy I found this video. Worked perfectly, thank you!!!
Wow😳... Great info. I was damaging my floors finish with all the chemicals! Simple simple simple👍
You just saved me a world of pain! Thank you!
Great thinking, dad! My 12 year old did an amazing job like your daughter, but also got the floors real good! I wonder if super hot water on a rag would do a similar trick.
that's fabulous - thanks soooo much 🙂 what a great little girl painting her room 🙂
Wootwoo - this is fantastic! Thanks to you for this video ... and for your daughter for causing the need for a solution :D
She did a good job painting !
She did a wonderful painting job on the walls!
OMG! I own a cleaning business and cleaning paint off the floor is time consuming you have made life so much easier bless you and your daughter...Thank you!
Your welcome!!
I totally agree thank you so much for this great idea you just saved my knees!
Thank you so much, this will certainly save me a lot of time and save my floors!
I'm watching you today. Thanks for this easy and inexpensive way.
brilliant...I was wondering if it could be used. Thank you for solving a very perplexing problem for me!
This really does work!!! Thank you so much!!! Saved us on having to buy products or messing up the laminate.
My grandson painted my kitchen but didn't bother about the floor, thinking I was replacing it. I'm not but now it's covered in paint blotches. I've tried to wash it off to no avail but will try the steamer as it looks to work brilliantly. Thank you for the tip.
This definitely works, what I also found was that after heating with steam, a plastic scraper can be used to dislodge the paint spot off the floor. Use plastic or some other material that is softer than the floor so there is smaller risk of scratching and coming into the spot at a relative low angle between the floor and scraper. Then use a towel or vacuum to collect the dislodged paint spots.
teaching moment for all. thank you. and great job painting your own room:)
the paint color is pretty. Thank you for this video, really helps!
Nice trick using your steamer for getting the paint off your floors! 👍
Genius! Thank you for posting this solution. It is super-helpful!
Oh I’ve got to try this !!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you . I just moved into a new apartment and unfortunately I am the culprit with the paint on the floor so I am soooo appreciative of your post
Same!!!
What a creative idea that’s also effective. Nice video!
You just SAVED my whole NIGHT! THANK GOD FOR YOU!!!!
IM USING A IRON AND PRESSING THE STEAM BUTTON NOW LOL.
Amazing! Thank you. My 4 yr old ruined my hardwood floors while drawing. Gonna try this with my steam floor cleaner 😉
Oh my goodness thank you!! You’re about to save me my security deposit!! 💛
I had wood stain dried onto my vinyl floor and no steamer, so I used my iron on the steam setting it came right up with no effort. I even had a mystery stain and that came up as well, thank you.
I will try this now and be back!! I have stains all over my room.
I just tried it, it takes a lot of time to remove small stains and very small ones still wont be removed easily
but thank you for the video was somehow helpful
Great tips. I just painted a dresser and dripped paint on my hardwoods, even though I layer down cardboard.
WOW! Thank you, lol it was your 11 yr old daughter that let the paint dry. It was my 64 yrs old husband that let it dry on the our floors. 😤
I can empathize!
I'm 11 and I let the paint dry on the floor 🥺👉👈
Wow it works. Thank you for this video. It was very helpful and saved a lot of time and efforts.
Ummm Sir, your daughter did an amazing job on her bedroom walls, sooo I think you’ve taught her well. Oh and thanks for sharing this video 👍
I’m trying to get spray paint off my floors thanks to the maintenance man who spray painted my tub😢

You my friend have just saved me hours of torture and a divorce, for that I thank you 👍🏻
Haha!!! Your welcome
thank you for this idea...
paint can be soften by the heat released by the steamer . makes it easier to remove on the floor
Thanks for the tip. Mine was 11 yrs old, paint on wooden table. 😏👍 Worked out fine.
Wow!!! I don't have a steamer but I have hot water and a steam iron. I'm going to try it!!
I wish i had someone to blame for my mess 😔 haha
I never would have thought of this thanks!!! 👌👌
God Bless you and your steamer😂 My fiance was about to kill me after hours of my elbow grease not doing a darn thing😂
Holy Moly that is fantastic sooooooo thankful. You're brilliant!
Worked like a charm thank you for this video
I’m a bit late here but thank you for this, I’ve also discovered that a hairdryer on high heat works as well , Who would have thought steamer/hairdryer, thanks again
Do you put any water on the floor before heating with hairdryer? Or just dry heat it?
@@planetruther nope, just concentrated high heat and then I wipe up paint with a damp cloth
This is awesome! Thank you for this.
You just saved my day with this one.
Bugger me, that's a top idea, thanks mate👍
It’s an amazing thing to let you kid learn how n there own never a mistake great job dad.
AW YEAH that was weirdly satisfying to watch. You blot those blobs!
