I this video I talk about how I use the Loomis Method for constructing a head in a rougher more practical way. This is a good example of how a system like the Loomis Method can be used for more stylised art.
It's also an example of how we can be a lot more artistic and streamlined once we master basic skills.
Once you get the basics of a system like the Loomis Method it's easy to modify it and use it to suit your style and process.
    Happy Drawing!

This deserves way more views. Most videos show to use the loomis method as a strict guide instead of an adjustable tool to match styles.

Thanks! I'm glad that point resonates!

@@TheDrawingCodex Can you do a similar video with Cartoon Animation by Preston Blair? What other books do you have video's for?

There is another book by Loomis that fits right in with his head and hands book and figure drawing book, that is "Fun With A Pencil" it does demonstrate how to draw things "more cartoony" with different head and body types as well as clothes, and perspective etc... I'm sure you have that book maybe you could show a demonstration at some point. Thank you for this channel and all you do.

Hey love the video it’s great and super helpful
If I could make one suggestion, your videos are often zoomed out so it’s hard to really see the detail of what you’re drawing.
But it’s of course still helpful and great just harder to see, thanks for the vids

Thanks! Yeah that is an issue for sure. I'll try punching in at the edit phase. There are probably some times where this could work to make the picture bigger (It might not be the best quality as it would be blowing up a 4K image... but I'll see how it looks...one day I'll get an 8K camera and solve the problem properly :)
I am always sitting at home on big screens so it's probably not an issue I am fully aware of. I appreciate your pointing it out as it's important the videos work in different viewing scenarios.

Awesome video! Can I ask where you got the little grey skull? I've been looking online but can't find a grey pocket sized one? Any help would be massively appreciated!

Try to just enjoy it. It can be fun if you don't put too much intensity into perfection. Just playing with the lines can be fun in itself. No one is perfect.
