The greatest sign stealing and cheating scandal of all time
Yeah, OF ALL TIME!!
@@houstonsportsfan242 yeah NOW IT DEFINITELY IS
So the Yankees using a guy with binoculars and a flashlight in the middle part of last century is somehow OK or not as bad? The Yankees won quite a few championships in those years. The year Bobby Thompson hit his shot heard ‘round the world the New York baseball Giants used a guy in a nearby building with a telescope and a buzzer leading to the Giants dugout. That’s not as bad? What about Tony La Russa installing a camera with a feed that led to his office along with a toggle switch that led to lights on a scoreboard in order to tip White Sox batters off as to which pitch was coming? What the Astros did was wrong, but it was hardly unprecedented. Teams have been using external means to steal signs for almost as long as the game has been around…
@@macpipkin Bruh if you are going to try to make a bunch of claims like that. At least try to put some references as well.

During player testimony in the cheating investigation it was concluded that Altuve was not a willing participant. You can see video of him getting visibly upset at whoever is trying to signal the pitch. He once even stepped out of the batter's box and said to the bench "leave me out of that"
I also imagine it would be hard to say anything about it because then you’ll be seen as a rat to your teammates
I've always thought that getting a home run against Major League pitching involves a lot of luck. A good hitter with good eyes, quick reflexes and good pitch selection, power and patience increases that luck. Add determination to that and you have Jose Altuve.

Louis Franco this bag was clean though so your comment is irrelevant.
Hearing what very well? I didn’t hear a trash can. If there was sign stealing during this at bat, why did it last so long?
Who’s here after finding out this at bat is tainted?
Nick Martinez this one isn’t. Others were though.
Harrison Baylor why do you think this specific at bat isn’t tainted?
Nick Martinez someone went back and recorded each time they heard a bang during Astros games. Altuve only had approximately 16 pitches with bangs the entire year, plus MLB said they couldn’t find evidence for buzzers so it’s highly unlikely that he was cheating here in mathematical terms. But also I couldn’t hear any banging during this at bat.
Harrison Baylor ahh yes I heard that, but I believe in this series they also whistled, and this at bat was one of them.
Nick Martinez the whistling was debunked also. Besides the whistling in this video is inconsistent with the pitches and would be too hard to pull off especially in a postseason game since the fans often whistle already.

Tuveeee one of the best batters in the league !
He was early on every swing. When he swung, it was with full power. He knew what was coming. Pretty damning evidence in this AB.
You don't know much about baseball do you, cuz it was six Sliders and a fastball and the reason he fouled-off the six-pitch early that's cuz he was sitting fastball but got a slider which indicates he doesn't know which pitch was coming. He hit that MF'er so hard they are still looking for it. #whatever

They weren't good enough to win without cheating. The thing is, they actually ARE good or WERE good. Why cheat? Tainted Legacies
@@charlesbrown6364 you think that the whole team would be wearing a buzzer? And Jomboy is a biased, salty Yankees fan and it’s hilarious.
At 3:40 you can hear the “charge” whistle signaling which pitch was coming when he hits the deep foul. Then on the next pitch no whistle means he knows a fastball is coming. Best at bat ever?!?! What a joke! Worst cheaters ever is more like it
I still hear the same wistle sound on the next pitch..
Idk if you are a dodgers fan or yankees fans but y'all clearly know nothing about baseball if you think those whistling videos are evidence of anything. There's a charge whistle before both pitches and they are two different pitches offspeed then fastball. Also the whistles on both pitches come before the sign has even been fully given and agreed to. Also that's a fan in the crowd making the charge whistle. He's there for every postseason game and relentlessly does it
@@timwilliams4946 well there's alot of evidence now that they were cheating. Managers fire and suspended and now the buzzer this past year.
@Sal Vulcano exactly
Dre _ the buzzers were fake as was the whistling. Can’t deny the Astros cheated but get the facts straight.
I cant hear the bangs in the dug out!
But i can hear the charge whistle on the deep foul and you can hear the charge whistle on the home run!!
No wonder he took such big cuts, he knew what was coming.
Ha ha!
Yeah pretty sad
Holy Crap Jose Altuve is awesome! Size doesn’t matter in baseball anything is possible.
Rumor is Altuve didn’t use the system, and judging by how he was completely fooled on the first pitch, I’m inclined to agree with it.
I believe he was fooled on the 5th and 6th pitch but anyway the second to last pitch he was sitting fastball the way and got slider which proves he didn't cheat that's why he shanked the foul ball left because when you when you swing on fastball and you get slider it shanks. Watch the six pitch carefully one more time. The reason I'm answering this and so much more detail to you is because I've gotten so many comments of complete stupidity that don't know how to watch pitches and also there was a man on second and if there's a man on second it's completely easier to pass the signs along with George Springer than with a trash can so that's not even possible in a playoff game with coded signs and I haven't watched my video in a while but don't they even change signs during the at bat and you wouldn't even hear the trash can anyway anyway it's a long long story but that at bat is completely real
By the way he's a fastball hitter and he really was looking for a fastball the whole time. if you look at the at bat it was six Sliders and a fastball and as soon as he got a fastball he rocked it out of there. the seventh pitch once again was the only fastball. Basically Maedas slider wasn't getting the job donr so he forced maeda to throw a fastball
This is a clear video of when u think u know about baseball but really don’t 😂
Nathan Pond ikr he just picked the team winning lol and read maybe one article on the astros

Nothing against Jose Altuve, but as far as "the greatest at bat of all time", I’d easily put Jim Northrup’s 5 grand slams in 1968 - two in the same game, three in a single week, and one in a World Series game - up for consideration.
Thanks for the feedback, you're actually probably right. I just put that to get clicks but I have to tell you this is one great at bat. Def top .01%.
3:10 I'm going to argue that it wasn't a bad pitch (for Altuve) because he's known for making very solid contact on pitches just outside the zone on 2 strike counts. Maeda threw a pitch that he KNEW Altuve couldn't drive on a 2-2 count where he has a ball to give. On top of that, pressure works both ways in a scenario like this, Altuve could have lost his composure and chased a bad pitch trying to do too much. You needed to be a top tier pitcher to get Altuve out in 2017. Maeda (nor any other pitcher in the Dodgers pen) did not have the stuff to silence his bat when it mattered. This game was always going to come down to which team had the more explosive offense. To this day, this is still the greatest baseball game I've ever seen in my life.
The greatest at bat of all time is Bill Mazeroski hitting a 9th inning game 7 home run that won the 1960 World Series over the heavily favored Yankees

@@samuelmjlfjell little fucking cheater.... who will never get into the HOF, serves them right
The greatest at bat of all time is Luis Gonzalez’ single to win the 2001 world series. Bottom 9, game 7, 2 outs, against the best closer of all time. It cannot get any better than that
Tony Womacks double was more improbable and more clutch (WPA)
David Freese or Lance Berkman 2011 WS game 6? Rajai Davis 2016 WS game 7 against Chapman? Ben Zobrist 2016 WS game 7 in extra innings? Kirk Gibson 1988? Joe Carter 1993?
All are better than this
I am from La and go for the dodgers then I moved to Houston and still go for the dodgers but have no hate against the Astros 👍
Altuve is such a BEAST.
I was at game 5 and it was the greatest game I’ve ever seen in person
I saw you were at ALCS 2018 with the Red Sox game 3. I was there too. I was so disappointed when Osuna let that grand slam go.
CPR Rickster Gaming u like the Astros? Me too
U must love the Astros I do too read my name
Yeah the playoffs were not on regular tv in Houston, had to listen to the radio! They finally showed the highlights, Altuve , you lil badass, cheers to you!!!!
Lol about that
My at bat in Chicago Little League against Village Savings in 1967 was the best. Period. I drove in 2 runs and then had to take myself out of the game to go pee.
Clutch baby.....clutch
You are definitely a pressure player.
What is Alex Bergman wearing on his right hand at 0:37?
Sliding glove. Prevents burns on his hands. Could affect his batting.
Chris' Baseball Snacks okay thank you man
My favorite player too!! Go BIG Altuve!!!
He plays big!
🔥🔥🔥 MAYBE BECAUSE HE ALREADY KNOWS WHAT PITCH IS COMING 🤷
Hello!! It's possible. Intelligence also plays an important role in addition to skills. There is no doubt that a player who has been champion bat 3 times and in his best moment, has all chances for hitting the ball. what you have to ask yourself is where does he get the strength to hit homeruns so frequently being short player without much muscle. I have observed that he moves the bat very fast. more speed than strength
@@guillermoboggiano HOW LONG THE ASTROS BEEN STEALING SIGNALS??.. IM GUESSING YOU KNOW SINCE YOU THINK HE DID ALL THAT ON NATURAL ABILITY
@@guillermoboggiano and if you ever played baseball you dont need serious strength to hit the ball out.. I man weighing 150 pounds can knock them out if he can swing.. Its all about timing and ball to bat location.. Ken Griffey Jr was the king of the sweet swing.. No drugs or cheating needed!
@@guillermoboggiano yea intelligence plays a huge part in remembering your team AND THE OTHER TEAMS signals 😭
@@LifesLessons100 what I mean is cant not be denied that he's a very good hitter and player. On the other hand, I don't think all the hits he achieves , every contact during all these years is by stealing signals. It is not possible that baseball player with 3 championships bat on his record, all of these to be stealing signals. that's all
I agree with you with the example of K. griffey Jr. your right.
Greetings and my respects to you..
