From the concert documentary film That's The Way It Is. This was one of the rehearsals for his upcoming residency at the International Hotel in Vegas. Although I got to see Elvis every time he came to my hometown in the 70s, I would have LOVED to have seen him perform in Vegas. Elvis recorded a terrific studio version of this song in the early 70s...and I'm surprised it was never released as a single, because it could have been a hit.

This was a rehearsal video and they took out the process where they stopped and did other takes. That's why it was short and abrupt. That's unfortunate because I've seen the whole thing where you have the whole beauty of the song inspite of the stops and starts. In fact they add to the insight of Presley's approach and the process of preparation. If you're able to get the whole thing, you might find a redo to be pleasant. If not this was still a pretty video. Thank you.
It is unbelievable that of the more than 1300 concerts that Elvis has given in his last 7 years of his life (I think that is a concert every 3 days) so few were recorded with professional cameras. Because the Colonel wanted to keep Elvis exclusive and therefore did not allow cameras at his concerts. Imagine that only 100 concerts of the 1300 were recorded, which is a beautiful material we could have admired by Elvis? Elvis himself wanted to example that his 2 day tour with 2 concerts in 1 day, were broadcast in MSG in New York. Elvis even asked the Colonel at the press conference just before the concerts at MSG why it was not recorded. The Colonel did not answer that. You can still see that press conference on youtube. But the Colonel, you can say, has kept an unimaginable amount of invaluable Elvis material to the world. Kill and kill sin. Gr Marja
