Elvis never got over his first wife, and it showed in his soul when performing. He could have any woman on earth, but his heart was broken. It never mended. You guys love each other i can tell by the way you kissed her hand. Be good to each other.

I was 9 yrs old and Elvis died on my mother's birthday 8/16/1977. I will never forget that I was at my grandparents home for her party when they announced that ELVIS died. It ruined the day for everyone, even me at 9 yrs old. So sad. No one will ever come close to replacing ELVIS, the GOAT!!

THERE WERE PRESIDENTS, KINGS AND QUEENS, DIGNITARIES, MASSES OF MOVIE STARS AND SINGERS, AND HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF FANS AT HIS FUNERAL. I AM FROM MISSISSIPPI, ABOUT 15. MILES FROM WHERE ELVIS WAS BORN. I REMEMBER WHERE I WAS AND EXACTLY WHAT I WAS DOING. I WAS TWENTY YEARS OLD AND PREGNANT WITH MY FIRST CHILD. I WAS WORKING ON MY BABIES NURSERY. I HEARD IT ON TELEVISION AND I LITERALLY CRIED FOR TWO WEEKS. MAYBE CRIED IS NOT THE. RIGHT WORD. I SOBBED FOR TWO WEEKS WITHOUT STOPPING! I WAS LITERALLY INCONSOLABLE. I WILL NEVER FORGET HOW TRAUMATIC IT REALLY WAS. AND, WHENEVER I THINK ABOUT ALL OF JOY THAT HE BROUGHT INTO MY LIFE AND OBVIOUSLY HOW HE TOUCHED ME AND THE ENTIRE REST OF THE WORLD I REALLY HAVE NO WORDS FOR HOW HE AFFECTED ME. IT WAS IF THE WHOLE WORLD STOPPED WHEN HE DIED. TO THIS DAY, I WILL NOT LISTEN TO OR WATCH ANY VIDEOS OR SONGS FROM 1973 ONTO 1977. I COULD SEE THE DECLINE IN HIS APPEARANCE AND SOUND. IT MAKES ME SO SAD AND I GRIEVE FOR HIM ALL OVER AGAIN! HE WAS SO UNIQUE AND CHARISMATIC AND BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFULLY GIVING TO ANYONE, ANY COLOR, THAT NEEDED ANYTHING. HE WAS SO SPECIAL. GOD BROKE THE MOLD WHEN HE MADE ELVIS. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANYONE LIKE ELVIS AND THERE WILL NEVER, EVER BE ANYONE LIKE HIM AGAIN. I LOVED HIM!!!😪😥😢

He died from a broken heart . I was alive I am 75. I live through all good and bad times. That’s why I have love for everyone. That’s how I was brought up. I don’t care what color you are. If you can’t love must people in life you don’t love yourself.

I was 16 when he went home. I loved this man since I was 6. Elvis was always there for me through his music. I will never forget it, got home from school and we always ran up our drive and turned on TV to watch Tarzan, they broke in with a special news announcement and that was the death of Elvis. I sat there for the longest time in disbelief and shock. I finally went to my room and turned on my radio and every station was playing a tribute to Elvis, that's when I knew it was real and I broke down and cried my eyes out. Days later I was still crying, even in school tears would weld up in my eyes. I will never forget but he lives on in his music and movies and when I had my kids they grew up on Elvis and are fans as well and they are passing it on to their kids. The world cried together on that day, August 16, 1977. Request...American Trilogy, Bridge Over Troubled Water, How Great Thou Art, My Way, Where Did They Go Lord, Big Hunk Of Love, Kentucky Rain, Long Black Limousine, U.S. Male, just to name a few, I could keep going but yeah, better stop :)

I WAS DEVASTATED the day Elvis died. he was simply Amazing. i saw him in 1975,in Norfolk VA. and will never forget when he walked out on stage and and the 10,000 in attendance went out of their minds. I was in another dimension as he took us there. He controlled us all as it seemed everything was in slow motion as he looked from the left to the right and we were all under his command as he was totally in charge. I just loved the guy. Nothing weird but simply loved him and wished so badly he was still here for everyone to enjoy!

I got into so much more different kind of music after this period, the sky was the limit, so much diversity, all kinds of people, the message was clear, we are all equal.

You are right. I live in the U.K. and It was on a Tuesday night. I remember because my parents always went out on that night of the week. I was watching the news when the announcement came on and I remember being frozen to the spot. Reports of his ill health had been circulating before that but his death came as a shock. Music radio stations started playing his records practically non stop for a couple of days and phone ins took place with people giving their reactions to the news. Unfortunately two women were killed outside Graceland when a car veered into the crowd and I think another person was injured.

Today is March 30th 2024 . Happy Easter Shawn & Mel. I was 15 yrs old when Elvis passed. I was teased badly in school for being a fan of what was considered a "has been"... Most of these teasers would call me all summer long in 77 to tell me Elvis was dead. So when my best friend called me at home.. ( she thought I heard) I thought she joined them. I CRIED FOR 2 WEEKS when I learned it was true. I was grateful I saw him 3x in person in Texas and the last time was March 24th 77! Mom used to send people to check out my bed room.. it was wall to ceiling , corner to corner Elvis on every wall except 2 small ones for other faves! I'll go to my grave a fan and I'm 62 now!!

When he passed, I was behind Billy Stanley going thru the gates but, uncle Vester stopped Billy and we had to back up onto EP Blvd. I had just seen Elvis with Lisa and Ginger the night before at the Southland Mall. He was happy, getting ready for tour. Up beat. The next day gone.

I first heard this song 5 years ago at 35 and my marriage was not doing so hot and when I listened to it I started to cry like a little baby. Out of nowhere and I couldn’t stop. I had been treating my wife serving best for a while and this song saved my marriage. My wife gets treated exactly as she should since. I listen to it sometimes now and it always makes me think of the free years I wasted that I wish I could get back in my marriage. God this song is so powerful.

As a fifteen year old living in Los Angeles and having grown up watching Elvis on TV, the announcement off his death was like a blow to the solar plexus. It was such a huge media story and the crowds that gathered in front of Graceland were huge. Moreover, it was like the shock heard around the world, because news of his passing went international so quickly, with people around the world mourning, which was rather remarkable because this was before the age of internet and e-mail. And it’s surprising that Elvis was so popular internationally, because he never actually toured or performed outside of the United States.

Never will forget that day ever. Huge fan, but then again, who isn't? I had luckily seen him in concert with my sister and two cousins. When I got the call from my cousin, well, I totally lost it. My husband had to come home from work to help me and my same two cousins came over with an old fashioned (now) video of his concert and we lit candles, prayed, cried and cried some more. I also got a lot of calls from family and friends who wanted to check up on me. Then, just when I was starting to calm down just a bit, my big brother (who was also a huge fan) and also bought every Elvis single as it was released, starts coming up the stairs and we had the lights off bc of the candles and he yells from the landing, what the hell. It's pitch black up here, oh candles? What's going on? You'd think someone died of something. I cannot begin to tell you how he tried to keep control of himself when I told him. I was 27 then. I am now 72 and spend my days and nights either watching his concert videos or listening to his albums or reading stories about him and also watching you two beautiful people.
I so appreciate that you young guys have found my love and are so wonderfully reacting to him. I will love and miss him forever. GOAT. May God bless him.

I was alive.. Had seen him live in 76. I was 11 and cried like a baby. Still have mothers newspapers, a scarf and a huge collection of his albums. I was blessed to have parents that saw the gifts this man had and instilled them in me. I happy you have found your way.

I was just a small child at the time with no appreciation yet for music so I wasn't affected. However, I did feel the pain the world was going through. For years and years after his death you would see all these stories about him still being alive. People didn't want to accept it. Now I understand

I was 8 when Elvis passed and I remember coming home from school and my mom was crying uncontrollably at the table. I didn’t understand until she told me. Bc even at that age she and I had tickets to see Elvis in his next concert and it’s was weeks away ... what a sad moment for this world

He made some mistakes.... told his life story in every single song.... incredible! While I love many artists, no one shared his life (and moves) the way he did. ❤️❤️❤️ great reaction! 👍🏻

I remember when Elvis died, it was a sunny Tuesday and I was outside in the back yard of my aunts house with my cousin. All of a sudden the house which was quite loud with chatter and laughing. Went eerily quiet. It wasn’t until we went inside I saw everyone in the house was crying. My cousin said what’s wrong to his mum. She just pointed to the TV and there it was a picture of elvis 1935-1977 with Elvis dead at 42. I was shocked, because he was so young. Everywhere I went for a while had like a dark cloud over it. Like a light had gone out in the world. I’ll never forget it.

I know I'm late with your videos. I have to say that I watched your Elvis marathon videos and like your commits & reactions on the man that invented swag. Well done. My mom was the biggest EP fan ever. I remember I was 13 yrs at the time she read in the paper that he was going on his last tour and was coming to town and I begged to go with her but his shows were cancelled and he died that same year. We followed him throughout his career...seen all his movies, show appearances, and had all his songs. A legend. The original goat. It's unreal to know that I almost seen him in person. I know I cried.

First of all, you two are just adorable. Second I was 7yrs old when he passed. But I remember daddy crying his eyes out. Ya see, his.daddy was absent and so him and his siblings looked up to Elvis as a role model. Daddy took me to see Elvis when I was 5. I will treasure that moment forever. 💜

I seen him in concert in June 27 of 1976 I was 15. When he died August 16, 1977 I was 16. Whenever he passed away they stopped the programs that we’re on with a special report for the entire night. It was channel ABC with Jeraldi Rivera all night. It was as if a family member died. I was devastated. I couldn’t eat or sleep. I was beside myself.

Elvis was a wonderful balladeer when he chose to be and this song brought out that aspect of his singing. It has something of the same vibe as my favorite Elvis song,
“Can’t Help Falling in Love”, and others like it, “Love Me Tender, particularly, and therefore a return to his admitted minstrel-troubadour orientation which I share in my own singing and songwriting, where the songs of John Dowland, of Franz Peter Schubert, and of Stephen Collins Foster, are of particular influence. By the time of Elvis’ passing, he was a sad caricature of his former self, while I was building my own catalog in a space he and the other celebrity has-beens sucked of all the air. Then we entered the farcical era of plastic-Elvis impersonation, many of us shelving our projects or, at least, releases until some distant, more favorable time.

Shock. I still haven gotten over him. Thank God for Priscilla for all she’s done. She lives for him. I know Elvis must be thrilled she came back to him to be sure his memory lives on. She states she’s still in love with him. She just couldn’t live the life. No one could blame her. Priscilla was the love of his life. So sad how he left so soon. RIP🙏🏻

I was 13 when he passed sitting on my porch when I heard but it didn't hit home until his death was the lead story on the news that day. That was a first back then. Then to see the people converge on Graceland from all over the world just put it all in perspective. We had lost a treasure. It took me about 3 days to break down. I cried for days once I let it out. He was my first love. I was 4 when I fell for him but it was real. I called him my boyfriend. Now my 4 yr old granddaughter has that same love for him. Haven't got the heart to tell her he passed away so she thinks she's going to grow up and marry him like I did.
Requests.... put on your high heel sneakers, just a little bit, way down, if you talk in your sleep, steamroller blues, fever, stuck on you, hound dog from milton Bearle show the live not the dubbed one because that was the appearance that caused such an uproar.
