  • Racing at Moler Raceway Park in the Pool Works Crate Late Model Special proved to be an experience that we will not forget. Eighteen cars battled hard leaving some in the dust and others in victory lane. The action was heavy with sheet metal bent and tempers flared but we ended the night scratching our heads wondering what really happened. The damage is done and more garage time will be needed before we can hit the dirt again. Thanks for watching and please comment or like below!!

      Well we want every racing session to be the best, but that rarely happens. If it was easy everyone would do it. Sorry to hear about your engine. We lost one three years ago that had 15 laps on it from rebuild.

    Noticed you were getting ready to seat a tire on bead at beginning of the video.
    Tip for anyone reading: After you seat the bead with no core in the stem, as the air escapes the stem it will begin to whistle. If you put the core in as soon as the whistling stops it will be at 10 PSI +/- 0.5 PSI

      Does this work on passenger tires as well?

      @@LateModelGarage for a passenger car? Not that I know of. I suppose it could though. I’ve never ran air pressures that low in passenger car tires

    From what I saw, you spun out into the safety of the infield. Had the driver came back onto the track, caution flag flies.

      Risky business trying to enter the field while the green flag is flying.

    You didn’t get screwed, you spun into the infield. Bright side is they saved you some fuel and probably saved a few cars that probably would’ve gotten torn up if you’d kept running.

      Not gonna let this hold us back. We just wanted to make some more laps to learn more about the car. Each time we go out we learn more and more.

    It’s crazy, or me it’s not safe to leave a car sit after it spins.

    • @LateModelGarage
      @LateModelGarage  3 роки тому

      It just was not our night. Things were wonky from the get go. I did not film the Modified Heat Race that had a caution thrown after all cars took the checkered flag. All the cars had to line back up to do a green/checkered lap. Lots of interesting calls from the tower to say the least.

  • @Kendammit
    @Kendammit 3 роки тому +1

    No reason at all that a caution shouldn't be thrown for a spin, especially on a track with an infield that accessible. No way to determine if the driver intentionally put his car there so you throw a caution..especially since it already happened once in the same corner. Anyway, you guys were moving forward and looking competitive so I say the changes you made were good and will benefit your more in the future.

    • @LateModelGarage
      @LateModelGarage  3 роки тому

      In previous years we would make changes and not really see much difference on the car. Now that the frame is staying out of the mud each small adjustment is showing a change. Some good and some bad. We just gotta keep racing to figure it out. Thanks for watching!

      @@LateModelGarage no problem buddy I was actually up at Richmond the other day I seen you. You gonna be there this weekend?

    • @LateModelGarage
      @LateModelGarage  3 роки тому

      They are not running the Pro Late Models this weekend. We will likely take the weekend off but we have kicked around the idea of going to "The Rock" in Rockcastle County. June 19th is the next race at Richmond for us.

  • @WindRider1

    You got screwed because, and you even said it. You only go there maybe twice a year. They wouldn't treat their regulars that way. IMHO you need to find a track to run at regularly. It makes for less adjustments and more familiarity. I love how hard you guys work and you should enjoy the fruits of your labor, but have you ever considered letting someone else shake the car down. It just isn't turning the same rpms your competitors are. It isn't coming off the corners hard like it should be. No knock on Drew. Just a second opinion might be good.

    You spoon out in the inside of the track there not going to throw a caution for that

    • @LateModelGarage
      @LateModelGarage  3 роки тому

      Two laps before they threw a caution for a spin out in same area. Another spin out in one and two also resulted in caution. Everyone has there side of the story. Its all water under the bridge now.

    Well, don't just sit there, you do have a reverse gear don't you ? Back up fast, flip nose around then proceed...See it in the movies all the time.....

    • @LateModelGarage
      @LateModelGarage  3 роки тому

      It was very dusty out there and harder to see than you would imagine. Pulling out on the track certainly would have pushed the issue to make the caution come out. But this action comes with great risk of getting hit broad side. Oh well. Plenty of racing left this year.

      We are not sure it was really all about that. Things get busy and complicated with all the cars on the track. Not that we agreed at all with the decision it was the tower official's final call. Racing is difficult even when things are going your way. We will keep at it and do better next time.
