That was an absolutely magnificent restoration on such a classic beauty. It's obvious no expense was spared and deservedly so as Marilee is truly a yachting masterpiece.
I have seen this video before. It was posted by someone else last year. Before I write my comment further, I do know that things are a matter of personal taste. I followed this video in absolute awe of the skills of these boat builders. The finished deck is a work of art. Then came the owners vision of the interior! The design is beautiful. the finish is really a matter of taste. I was so looking forward to highly varnished mahogany or similar woods. Then came this offering.... The finish, in my opinion, with the blueish finish on some of the wooden surfaces, ruins the classic look of this lovely boat. That said, the overall boat is a dream 👍
This is something you see on some exclusive cabins nowadays. Could have been lighter yet, in tones, I mean. Interesting to see shapes and massive boom and main sail. Well done!
I agree! Was a partner in sister Rugosa in the 70s. She’s such a beauty and Halsey took care of many things we hoped would be done. We never had the money to do more than keep her health and enjoy her. Her interior was traditional and as beautiful as her exterior. A treat to sail!
