One of the main charms of the last two games was that it looked like.. South Park! It was a timeless visual especially for fans of the show. They nailed it. And then they took it away. Shame. If they wanted real time combat I wish it was like castle crashers keeping the artstyle of the show. Also 3 hours for the story is ridiculous. Sounds like it should’ve been $15.
Completely agree, can still play the PS3 version snd it’s great because it looks and feels like playing the show, $15 would have been a fair price point.
I don’t think this game is that bad I haven’t played TSOT but I have played TFBH And from what I’ve seen from those two games Even though to me it’s good it may be the worst one cause of how short it is
What is this appointment, been waiting so many years for another installment of them. Ubisoft RPG version of the South Park game. Instead, looks like we got some relatively low effort nonsense
This sounds spiteful, but I hope this game fails just so Trey and Matt go back to giving us RPGs. Stick of Truth is such a digestible game I find myself replaying it every 1-2 years since I can knock it out in a weekend. And Fractured But Whole's gameplay is so good it was my favorite turn-based combat system for a long time till LAD:Infinite Wealth just dethroned it. I hope people who bought this game have a good time but man I hope it undersells. I just want a new South Park RPG.
Trey and Matt are HIGHLY skeptical of making games of the series. When they see any game if the series fail they won’t touch it again for decades. This game has to succeed or else Trey and Matt may retire from gaming market and just focus on the tv show and movies until they retire from that. And before anyone says they will hand the series to someone else, Matt and Trey mentioned many times they will not allow the series continue without them, so the series dies with them, yes Matt and Trey fully owns the trademark and copyright of South Park. Comedy Central only owns the right to air the tv show, they aren’t allowed to create anything South Park related without Matt and Trey.
You're out of line. The problem isn't the choice of genre, but the lack of content and originality. It's 4 hour long, side quests don't exist and the South Park humor has toned down way too hard.
2 months later, according to SteamDB, there are only 17 players in this Live-Service game. I may have been spiteful or out of line, but I was correct, unfortunately. Hopefully, Trey will take charge of the next game and make it an RPG. I still want The New Kid to have a Villain Arc for all the boys blaming them for their hijinks.
At least not this kind of 3D with modern dynamic lighting. Its why all the "2D cartoon turned into 3D video game" from the 6th gen had the same kind of "baked in lighting" the shows had so everything is colorful and bright as it should be. I hate modern lighting in games.
My mind is blown I thought this was a multiplayer game this whole time lol, didn't realise it was a roguelike! Shame it's quite bad but actually interested now haha! Thanks for another EPIC video John Calum.
I think one of the biggest disappointments is how short the story is (could’ve used Kenny to make a whole sixth chapter separate from Stans to lengthen it) and the fact that you can’t fight alongside the boys in offline mode, you’re always stuck with other randomly generated new kids. I wouldn’t have imagined it to be all that hard to code them either cause you could’ve just reskinned the weapons and abilities to be more visually fitting to them and pick the ones closest to the characters. You cannot tell me Kenny couldn’t have just reskinned the staff weapon to be a unicorn shooting rainbow orbs instead of fire ones and that the cheesing ability couldn’t have had its visual effects turned pink just to better individualise Kenny. Stan could’ve worked his axe and used fighter esc abilities hell they could’ve given Kenny the fart jump to resemble the flying Kenny does in his boss fight before you obtain him. It’s just such a missed opportunity to have character dialogue, a feeling of in show immersion by fighting alongside the iconic characters we love and a sense of much greater accomplishment by defeating each boss. You would not only have gotten a unique power/weapon but one of the boys to replace the random cpu new kids on your team in favour of fighting alongside each other to eventually beat Cartman. I think one of the best things the other games did is make you feel you were in the world/game of south park by fighting alongside or playing as the cast with their unique abilities and all the dialogue they have with both your character and others is what gave room for so many jokes and characters moments. Missed opportunity to attempt to replicate that in this game tbh, it’s honestly sad too cause the boss fights are amazing and the concept of snow day is brilliant so why we didn’t get even more story or better yet not a single ounce of opportunity to have the guys fight alongside the new kid is disappointing. There are plenty of times where you forget it’s South Park cause frankly South Park is its iconic characters.
Completely agree with the first half its like they cheaped out to make it quick, it could easily be any other game it just so happens it has a south park skin where as the other two were built specifically for south park with non stop story elements.
Game was very basic . Unlike stick of truth which had an amazing story line and characters from the show that took more part then just sitting at a war table and do nothing like this game . I was very disappointed on the lack of creativity like the last two . If you are a really die hard fan of South Park play it cause I heard new episodes will continue from the game but if not then honestly not worth it at all .
They had such a good formula with the last 2 games I don't know why they changed it and the characters in 3D just look weird. Good video John, always appreciate when people do spoiler free for brand new games.
With a title like that and the intro being what it is, this game REALLY shouldve largely been based off post apocalyptic movies and games more than doing stick of truth again. It would work way more with the new gameplay style and have allow for more opportunities for original jokes since the neither the show or games had really had any apocalypse setting beyond technically like two episodes.
If this was 15 to 20$ I don't think anyone would care and say its just a fun day killer but the fact its 30$ for a barebones rougelike(50$ for the special edition) makes you feel like you're paying for the brand and not cause its a good game. As Mich as people hated the n64 game I would have much preferred a remaster of that because I have fond memories of that game.
Remember guys Matt and Trey scroll through youtube comments and other social media to find out what people think about the game. So they dont make the next mistake
I may be different but I’ve been playing this for hours recently, it’s been fun. I went into it with low expectations from the trailer and reviews but I liked it. I wish weapons were a bit more diverse because some of them feel stale and there’s only 3 melee. Henrietta’s waves (dunno what it’s actually called) have been fun, but that’ll definitely get repetitive since there’s only one rn. Dunno about 30$, but it’s been really fun and can see myself playing it on the go or in car rides, or just some quick games in between. I like stick of truth and fractured but whole better, but I feel I’ll prob get more replay out of this. After beating those the only thing left for me to do is play through the story again (which I’ve done 4-5 times for each) or fight a couple random enemies. Sorry for the long post, I hope they add more replay ability to this game and this is just my opinion
Thats fair enough mate, I’m guessing your on switch or handheld? I can imagine its not too bad on there for passing the time, It’s just a bit bland for me; but if you get enjoyment from it good stuff

was looking for a "negative" review to see what the downsides are, me and friends were very tentative about this game. got the feeling it will get repetitive and stale real quick.
@@JohnCalum Yeah of course, thanks for the breakdown. Friends and I agreed maybe on a sale when the DLC comes with it for super cheap. There is no legitimate reason to buy it full price clearly missing so much content right now. Cheers Mate!
This feels like a game that will make other contdnt as time goes on. Some free and some paid. I think 30 is a fair entry price. Ither worst devs would have put it iut at 60 and capitalized on the south park name
I do agree it does seem that way, idk I still feel a bit hard done by at £30, like now we have to wait however long for anymore content, I’ve deleted the game already
The first two games were like playing in an episode of South Park. Massive open worlds to explore, a hugely engaging story line that kept you playing until 3am to see what came next, you could customise your own character via class, weapons, adons and perks, and change your play style by selecting different companions each with their own abilities. And most important - it was South Park. All the humour, shocking and surreal. This game is incredibly shallow. The story line barely exists; you can't customise your own character, your just get a melee attack and a ranged attack, no special ultimates, your bot companions you can't customise in any way at all (so absolutely no "yeah, for this bit I'll take Butters as a healer and Cartman as a mage"). The enemies (exlcusing boss) are elvish first graders and a few sixth graders...and that's it. The combat is simply repetetive hack and slash, it's dull and it's boring and feels like you're just button mashing and dopign the same thing over and over again. The "deluxe version" with it's "new game mode" turns out to be an arena style thing where, you guessed it, you get to hack and slash exactly the same enemies in exactly the same way. Repeatedly. The characters are totally subdued, you get a few lines from Carman or Butters....repeatedly. They dont; even play on Jimmy's stutter, and many characters you hardly see at all.
@@JohnCalum They could have so easily added character skins, voice clips and varied attacks to the bot companions, but all you get is generic new kid clones that do nothing but basic attacks so it feels very cheap. Heck they don;t even wear the new kid costume. It all feels so unfinished, threadbare and penny pinching. Ironically in the Arena mode you get Heniretta on your side casting unique spells. But for the extra £15 (I'm in the UK) you get one single arena and a skin that preorders got free anyway. The other three options Henrietta has in her menu, they're locked, so I asusme the season pass will pay for them.
I am getting the Switch version and I am renting the game from Gamefly before I decide to get it or not. I often read & hear comments about the game on other consoles before it comes to the Switch. Sometimes, the games do better on the Switch but other times, the games on the Switch is just like the one on other consoles. I am looking forward to playing on the Switch! I did enjoy the very first South Park game that was on the N64 which I had a blast playing it as well as multiplayer part of the game. I enjoyed the other 2 Park games as well being Stick Of Truth & Fractured But Whole. I was really laughing at parts of the games. I wasn't expecting certain scenes but you know, it's South Park so what you expect. Well, can't wait for it to come in the mail so I can start playing it and get my opinions on it. I am just glad that it's priced decent and not $60 or $70 like some of the other games on the Switch. Even if the game is not that great, least the price is decent.
I just finished it and the game deletes my progress on my character every time I turn the game off. Evidently it's a super common problem in the game .I've seen a few people on steam had that same problem. I'm curious if you did too. All my dark matter upgrades and weapons unlocked just poof...gone.
The most frustrating thing for me about this is the multiplayer. No local co-op or cross play. Considering how much they push multiplayer, having at least one of those would have been nice.
@@iiChadd I got the game 10 days ago. There was no need to rush through it. I played through each mission completing them first go. Maybe you’re taking longer and thats fine. But the game was 3 hours for me theres no getting around that, no rushing. That was at a casual pace.
For months Matt & Trey have said this game isnt going to be like the last 2, overall its pretty fun and I bet you once dlcs get released it will be even better 😂
I don’t think it’s a good thing to wait for dlc, the game should just have more content given on release. Also I just don’t enjoy the gameplay loop as much
They really let themselves down on sound effects and visuals. I've only watched an hour but from the streamer I watched I thought numerous tims the audio was very quiet, no impact effects when hitting people, no combo meter, no effect on big hits it just seems a bit rushed. Or perhaps the devs first time making something like this. They'd be better off examining the modern FF games on where they went wrong. @@JohnCalum
They made a looter with really no loot. It follows the same design as a borderlands or remnant but with only 6 weapons and not 600 😢 this is sad because theres so many mods and weapons that they could have come up with from their 26 seasons. The SouthPark N64 games and xbox360 south park tower defense had more weapons 😑😑😑
I had low expectations after seeing the 30 dollar price tag. It looks awesome but the gameplay kinda sucks. Only had it for 10 minutes and I already feel like I wasted money on a south park special episode.
I hoped that my bad feeling that Snow Day had much less content than "Stick of Truth" or "Fractured but Whole" was just a bad feeling but nope... I also understand diversifying the gameplay in their games so that each entry feels unique but it doesn't mean * if there's not much content to go with it, Snow Day seems to basically be an overextended South Park episode than a game you want to put tons of hours into (and for a South Park game, that's sad) and the gameplay made that tiny flashback of the 90's look like a cheap iOS game you just know has microtransactions...
@@JohnCalumAnd given how much we are scammed by the "modern" videogames industry in our days, I wouldn't be surprised a series of costly DLCs will be made as a result of this game having barely anything on purpose... Followed of course by a "complete edition" a year or two later.
Stick of Truth is the best… I was considering getting this just now, but this is now the third review I’ve watch and everyone seems less than thrilled about it. Not to mention personally I’m not loving the art design… really kills it for me in a way. Stick of Truth was like being in an episode. thanks for the review. Downloading Stick of Truth again
i feel like they should have done something like kingdom hearts. 3d movement with the focus on exploring and platforming, while having 4 slots for special powers (like fractured but whole). be better than just going from point a to b, with random bs happening time to time.
I didn't have to see much of the game to know that it is hellishly inferior to the previous two. I even initially thought this was a fangame or something, not only because of how horrible it is (it looks like a mobile game or a low-budget MMO with 100 microtransactions) but also because of all the strange decisions that were made to make it... An online game? I don't know :/.
It’s such a shame I’m seeing a lot of negative and mediocre feedback on this game. I was really excited because I love the South Park games but then again I did have lower expectations just off the different animation style
It is a shame, my opinion was formed the same time as other reviewers. I gave it a go and was open to the 3D look, but unfortunately it just doesn’t pull it off in most regards. Give it a go, but when the story credits roll 3 hours in its not great.
The graphics look good, but the bots are kind of annoying to play with as allies it'd be better as a single experience. Anyway, I knew this game was gonna suck. Thanks for the review.
It's kind of weird seeing them go from top-tier award winning games to this 20th-century pricing and cell phone quality content. Was this just capitalistic impulse taking over? Its not like they're low on income. 😂
have you played it? no right then dont judge it is better that they say it is fun this dude just has no friends and that was what creators wanted multiplayer
@rubixtein I’ve played it and I’ve tested the multiplayer. I have friends who are playing it. We all have the same opinion. It’s disappointing. Have you played it?
@@JohnCalumPeople are acting like this is Ubisoft and Obsidian who made this. It’s actually THQ Nordic which means it’s going to be a low budget game no matter what. Sometimes they get a bigger budget, like with SpongeBob’s BFBB sequel. Other times it’s “Alone in the Dark”. Also “Stick of Truth” was legendary, and the graphics were the best in that game. Not knocking “Fractured Butt Whole” but I noticed some choppiness when playing.
Did not expect to see a video on this SO FAST! Great watch John, been smashing out the videos lately. 🔥 Nothing will compare to Stick Of Truth and it's a shame this didn't have the same effort put into it. As a South Park fan, I'll still give this one a chance, would love to see how bad it really is haha. Congrats on the Plat!🏆
Haha put in a shift today 😂 Thanks man really appreciate it!! And totally agree, such a good first game. They could’ve easily made another in that format, it’s nice to see them trying something new but just poorly executed. Still worth giving it a go.
Matt and Trey get just shy of a billion dollars for their IP, and all we get out of it is scattered episodes, a shitty game, and a shitty pair of shoes
I know my opinion is not wanted but all i have to say is this game isnt amazing like thats fair but its fun and its something differnt if they stuck to the last design yall would pick at that too if you're a true south park fan pick this up its worth it
Your opinion is wanted as-long as you say it in a respectful way which you have, I do appreciate they tried something new it just doesn’t resonate with me
Even as a life long South Park fan I'm wary about buying this. I still have SoT and FBW in my library, might be better to just start a new file on one of those games instead
Put it this way, If I had bought it, I’d be pissed off. SoT and FBW are different levels in comparison. Maybe with expansions it will be more worthwhile.
I love the amount of people mad that they released an accurately priced game, that is going to be continuously updated for free, no live service BS, just a quick fun game that lets people pop in and out for $30. Gamers truly can never be happy.
Respectfully I have to disagree, I got it for free and I’m not going to play it again. And also it’s not going to be updated for free, theres a season pass for £20, which will include future content (this season). Maybe I’m wrong, but myself and a-lot of people are disappointed because we wanted a 15 hour story like the first two games. And the gameplay loop isn’t good enough to pop in and pop out. Thats my opinion though.
@@JohnCalum season pass for entirely new content, but they stated the game will be actively updated based on the show each week, and that will be free of charge. So even if you don’t have the pass, the game will actively change.
@@JohnCalum I admit it’s not what I wanted from them, but the gameplay in my opinion is quick. It’s them trying a new thing, and it was cost effective. I can never fault anyone for that sort of thing.
Nonono its just not okay I played 2 1/2 hours and completed the Game The old Concept of the Games was good with the cards but its a Battle for Bikini bottom now and in battle for Bikini bottom u got more secrets
I think this game is good because this was my first south park game and I always wanted to play a south park game when I was like 8 or 9 or maybe 7 years old❤
They should’ve made it like the first game man, wtf. Now we gotta wait 10 years for an actual good South Park game. I mean seriously they actually thought 3d fighting looks good?? This looks like a DS game bro. Trash. Sucks bc stick of truth was such a good game man
I haven't bought the game but it does seem like it might be small fun for a while and a good amount if you're a south park fan but definitely not worth the asking price. If interested, just get it on a discount.
@@JohnCalum I did also one round of horde mode and had a problem with the mission where you have to run away from a truck because you stole a nudy magazine from 6th graders. I had to try it like three times and in the end I just got lucky and didn't have to do it at all (there's a few of those test your strength missions and you have to do 2 random ones).
I loved the game! It's not that bad ! For 30 bucks you could do way worse! It's no fractured but whole, but it's not that bad! It's south park dude , I love it!
I kept hopes up thinking this game would be good or at least on par with the previous two RPGs, but I’m sad that it isn’t. Part of the reason that made the previous two games so much better was because it felt like you where actually playing an episode of South Park, you got to explore the whole town and there was a bunch of stuff to interact with, along with other side quests. All of that charm and care that was put into the first two games is what made them so special and exciting to play, Snow Day lacked a lot of that which makes it feel worse than the previous two. Of course the combat was also pretty good too in the first two games, while here it feel like it’s more of a button masher. Also achievements in the first two games had you do other stuff outside of the main story and natural progression to achieve, most of the trophies/achievements in Snow Day are obtainable naturally, beside a few of them. Stick of Truth and Fractured Butt Whole were two of the first games were I got 100% and got all trophies, and I enjoyed all of it even though I knew what most of the game was going to be. Shame they didn’t continue in the same style as the previous two games. I was also considering picking up the collectors edition but then I saw the price and decided not to get it.
I loved the first game, thought the second was good but haven't bothered with this one as it didn't look that good from the trailers, plus I've got zero interest in co-op games.
im sad it sux but im glad i get to save money from the money i wasted on dragons dogma 2 which wasnt really a waste but i could have should have waited for a sale which is what ill do with south park, ill still get it 1 day, but wont be full price
Yea I can’t get I’ll do it myself, van helsing, and the Escher of necromancy. I cant find any necros and the bs cards never use vampires, also the card for I’ll do it myself never pops up
van helsing is a pain, you gotta keep restarting the part where they choose cards, 1st mission seemed better for it. Escher of necromancy just seems a bit dodgy, It popped for me on the last level if thats any help.
Damn that is just sad.. south park the adult cartoon gets a new video game but only for it to suck hard while the other adult cartoons the simpson and family guy Haven't gotten a newer video game for so long like damn this isn't good for 2024 gaming..
I’d love to see a new simpsons or family guy game, south park is my favourite of all the shows, and I love the first 2 games, but yeah it’s not good at all.
@@JohnCalum The simpsons should get a rehydrated treatment aka having one of their old games get the rehydrated treatment aka the simpsons hit and run game.
Unfortunately, this game really is that shit, played for about 45 mins and doubt I’ll bother to pick it up again which is painful to say given how much I love South Park and how good TSOT and FBW were. With the quality and quantity of recent “seasons,” I think I’m ready to finally say, at 37 yrs of age, I’m over South Park. It gone the way of the rest of the world and producing complete and utter tripe and banking on the fact the suckholes like me will and do buy based solely on the fact that I WANT to support the franchise. Going to throw a random comparison out here and say it’s comparable to slipknot in the way it’s nothing more than a business that doesn’t give a fuck about anything but money and the fact they’ll make it because of the strong foundations that created it.
Snow day was my least favourite but it became my most favourite due to replayability and the graphics really grew on me but i did hate them at first. Gameplay is kind of addicting and I look forward to getting a max level character
Atleast someone is being honest I didn't even look at the game but for 5 seconds and already wanted to turn it off glad I didn't buy this one if u want a better south park experience just get the one for N64 that was better then this crap.
Umm what drugs are you smoking the N64 game was a dumpster fire even matt and trey said so themselves that's why we didn't have a south park game till TSOT cuz matt and trey were pissed about how they treated their ip and they became super protective of it

I wish they could of gone back to the Stick of truth formula.
Next game most likely now
With a title like that and the intro being what it is, this game REALLY shouldve largely been based off post apocalyptic movies and games more than doing stick of truth again.
It would work way more with the new gameplay style and have allow for more opportunities for original jokes since the neither the show or games had really had any apocalypse setting beyond technically like two episodes.
That would have been an interesting idea on it for sure!
No town exploration, no character development. No story. Just button mash. This plays more like an old arcade game.
I do agree with this
I'm so sad this game was underwhelming because I was so hyped for it. Hopefully the next South Park game hits harder than this one did.
I was too, i went in blind and tried to like it but I just didn’t
If this was 15 to 20$ I don't think anyone would care and say its just a fun day killer but the fact its 30$ for a barebones rougelike(50$ for the special edition) makes you feel like you're paying for the brand and not cause its a good game. As Mich as people hated the n64 game I would have much preferred a remaster of that because I have fond memories of that game.
Yeah it would be more reasonable at that price, feels like they’re gonna charge bank for dlc which might not even be that good.
It's so sad how the game just looks so watered down compared to the previous entries. Even the customization looks like it's lacking.
It does feel rushed anyway
At least they priced it accordingly, we're not having to pay £60 or £70 like some recent trash titles
True, but it still feels so short and barebones even for the price
For all the hype it got it's still a disappointment.
Man it really did look cool
It wasn’t worth $40 and there’s a season pass so that’s even more money for something that was beyond boring
Remember guys Matt and Trey scroll through youtube comments and other social media to find out what people think about the game. So they dont make the next mistake
Well let’s hope they make another like the first two
Loved the format.
Thanks brother
The cat piss/cheesing is from an episode about kenny actually. Super funny episode
That does ring a bell actually, I need to rewatch it then
I may be different but I’ve been playing this for hours recently, it’s been fun.

It does, I’m not gonna put it in again until maybe a dlc or something
@@JohnCalum Yeah of course, thanks for the breakdown. Friends and I agreed maybe on a sale when the DLC comes with it for super cheap. There is no legitimate reason to buy it full price clearly missing so much content right now. Cheers Mate!
I started playing this 1 hour in it felt like phone destroyer but 3d
It does feel that way
Thought the exact same think just humans an elves instead of cowboys and Indians lol
Would have gotten it if it at least had split screen
That would’ve been neat at least to have
@@JohnCalum missed opportunity, hopefully they can patch in a split screen mode in the future
@@Sinnathan Hopefully, they need to add more content anyway otherwise its pointless
I'll still try it out. I would love the first person Nintendo 64 game levels in this format as DLC.
I missed the N64 game but alot of people have mentioned it
This feels like a game that will make other contdnt as time goes on.
Spot on mate this is a perfect summary of a-lot of the negatives i have for the game and especially in comparison to the first two
@@JohnCalum They could have so easily added character skins, voice clips and varied attacks to the bot companions, but all you get is generic new kid clones that do nothing but basic attacks so it feels very cheap.
I hope you enjoy it mate, it’s just so short and not as good as the other two, but do form your own opinion on it and let me know what you think.
On Xbox there’s an achievement that’s unobtainable right now since the devs need to give it to people so I technically have 100%
thats a pain in the ass, a viral trophy is it?
@@JohnCalum yup
I just finished it and the game deletes my progress on my character every time I turn the game off. Evidently it's a super common problem in the game .I've seen a few people on steam had that same problem. I'm curious if you did too. All my dark matter upgrades and weapons unlocked just poof...gone.
Oh man thats so flippinfg annoying...
The most frustrating thing for me about this is the multiplayer. No local co-op or cross play. Considering how much they push multiplayer, having at least one of those would have been nice.
I agree either of those would have been a bonus, it feels very minimal
It’s not bad I really enjoyed the combat and story, but the problem is length. Kinda bad they needed to add more.
Yeah I can agree with that, runtime is just far too short
I would take either stick of truth or fractured but whole over this looks kind short compared to them
Can get both for less
they’re a level above
Had a feeling snow day would not be as good as the last 2 games but I will at some point get snow day hope there will be more South Park game
I just hope the next one is more like the first two, at least in the story aspects
The game is fine. I mean i got it for 30 bucks. It was clearly just meant to be quick fun
For £25-$30 i want more than just a 3 hour story, it has some fun moments but still dissapointing
@@JohnCalumu play a game then finish it. And never play again? no game would be worth how much it is
@@altqq1755 I got a free copy of this. It’s not good enough to play again compared to the first 2 games.
@@iiChadd It’s 3 hours long, how is that rushing through buddy. Most people have already finished it.
@@iiChadd I got the game 10 days ago. There was no need to rush through it. I played through each mission completing them first go. Maybe you’re taking longer and thats fine. But the game was 3 hours for me theres no getting around that, no rushing. That was at a casual pace.
i was watching the gameplay before even thinking of picking it up and it just didnt seem that interesting
It’s not really to me tbh with you
Game reminded me of the South Park 64 game, but even that had more enemy variety.
I never played it but alot of people have mentioned it now
the problem with this south park is they got it to serious because the last 2 literally that's why it was funny because it didn't got serious
the last two were so outrageous it was great
For months Matt & Trey have said this game isnt going to be like the last 2, overall its pretty fun and I bet you once dlcs get released it will be even better 😂
I don’t think it’s a good thing to wait for dlc, the game should just have more content given on release. Also I just don’t enjoy the gameplay loop as much
"the game is good once the devs release more content you have to pay for it make it good" is an insane take
@@JohnCalumUngrateful 🤓
@pensuls7595 This!! The whole wait for more content on a barebones game thing is so crap to me.
The complexity of the gameplay has obviously hurt the quality of the game.
It’s weird, it feels complex yet really bland at the same time
They really let themselves down on sound effects and visuals. @@JohnCalum
@@ToadsAndFrogs12you watched a streamer play it, yeah, i literally don’t care about your opinion 😂
@@Mr_Nobody913 I have likely made more games than you have in your entire life-time.
idc if it anit a rpg game ITS SOUTH PARK SNOW DAY WE WAITED FOR YEARS FOR THIS
I just like the previous two more 🥲
They made a looter with really no loot. It follows the same design as a borderlands or remnant but with only 6 weapons and not 600 😢 this is sad because theres so many mods and weapons that they could have come up with from their 26 seasons. The SouthPark N64 games and xbox360 south park tower defense had more weapons 😑😑😑
Thats true, the weapon variety in the last two games were great
Since they are going with 3D animation i feel like this should be like elden ring or dragons dogma.
This game is very low effort it feels like
@@JohnCalum agreed
I had low expectations after seeing the 30 dollar price tag. It looks awesome but the gameplay kinda sucks. Only had it for 10 minutes and I already feel like I wasted money on a south park special episode.
W for dropping this video FAST AF LFG
Cheers brudda
I hoped that my bad feeling that Snow Day had much less content than "Stick of Truth" or "Fractured but Whole" was just a bad feeling but nope...
I also understand diversifying the gameplay in their games so that each entry feels unique but it doesn't mean * if there's not much content to go with it, Snow Day seems to basically be an overextended South Park episode than a game you want to put tons of hours into (and for a South Park game, that's sad) and the gameplay made that tiny flashback of the 90's look like a cheap iOS game you just know has microtransactions...
Thats the problem is theres just not enough content and the content that is here ain’t good enough
Completely agree, I loved SOT. Definitely worth playing again over whatever this is.
Already got 100%? It just came out thats fucked lol
Early review copy mate
Not surprised, considering you can apparently beat the game in under 6 hours
If you had to rate it on 1-10 what would you give it?
Like a 6 probably mate
i feel like they should have done something like kingdom hearts. 3d movement with the focus on exploring and platforming, while having 4 slots for special powers (like fractured but whole).
be better than just going from point a to b, with random bs happening time to time.
That would have been really cool!! I like that idea alot and would’ve made a big difference
It’s just not in the same league as the previous two
It’s such a shame I’m seeing a lot of negative and mediocre feedback on this game.
@@JohnCalum definitely still gonna give it a go thanks
The graphics look good, but the bots are kind of annoying to play with as allies it'd be better as a single experience.
Anyway, I knew this game was gonna suck. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching. you basically do play single player most of the time
this just reminds me of that 3d south park mario kart game shit from the 90s.. like why the fuck are they doing this now?

It's kind of weird seeing them go from top-tier award winning games to this 20th-century pricing and cell phone quality content. Was this just capitalistic impulse taking over? Its not like they're low on income. 😂
It seems like they’re trying to change it up and do something new but it’s just not very engaging at all.
have you played it? no right then dont judge it is better that they say it is fun this dude just has no friends and that was what creators wanted multiplayer
Also “Stick of Truth” was
legendary, and the graphics were the best in that game. Not knocking “Fractured Butt Whole” but I noticed some choppiness when playing.

The worst south park game in my life time
I think so
U must not of been alive during the N64 game cuz yea this games bad but it's not the dumpster fire that the N64 game was
Even as a life long South Park fan I'm wary about buying this.
So even if you don’t have the pass, the game will actively change.
well we’ll see how that goes; I love south park and wanted to love this but I just don’t
@@JohnCalum I admit it’s not what I wanted from them, but the gameplay in my opinion is quick. It’s them trying a new thing, and it was cost effective. I can never fault anyone for that sort of thing.

The old Concept of the Games was good with the cards but its a Battle for Bikini bottom now and in battle for Bikini bottom u got more secrets
I'm replaying Stick for plat now and will do same for black guy in fractured. I guess this should be after but not hyped
Those two are so good! this one very much not so much. Enjoy those two whilst it lasts
Hey guys lets put a card system in an action game in 2024!!!!
Thing is the cards ain’t even really the problem, it’s just a feature of the game. It’s everything else
I think this game is good because this was my first south park game and I always wanted to play a south park game when I was like 8 or 9 or maybe 7 years old❤
You should definitely play the last two then
They should’ve made it like the first game man, wtf. Now we gotta wait 10 years for an actual good South Park game. I mean seriously they actually thought 3d fighting looks good?? This looks like a DS game bro. Trash. Sucks bc stick of truth was such a good game man
Hope its less but yeah this game ain’t on the same level as those two
I haven't bought the game but it does seem like it might be small fun for a while and a good amount if you're a south park fan but definitely not worth the asking price.
If interested, just get it on a discount.
Its fun, for about 3 hours, then its finished and then its repetitive and stale
Horde mode needs to be harder
I didn’t get to play it as it was unavailable on my review copy, how is it?
It took you only three hours?! I got around five. Super tedious if you don't have anyone to play with.
Exactly that, solo its very tedious. But I did each mission first go and it was only about 3 hours yeah
What do you get in the season pass do you know and do you need it to unlock any trophies?
The season pass didn’t exist when I was playing it so I’m not sure, but it doesn’t have any trophies tied to it.
1 cosmetic pack and future dlc which we know nothing about right now
@JohnCalum right now it only contains 1 cosmetic pack. We don't know anything about the future content it will give us
So its do not matter what difficulty u use? You can play this game to 100% with Mode easy?
Spot on mate yeah
I loved the game! It's not that bad ! For 30 bucks you could do way worse! It's no fractured but whole, but it's not that bad! It's south park dude , I love it!
Thing is those games were the same price, but if you are enjoying it then more power to you that’s completely valid
Let’s be honest nothing can beat Fractured But Whole anyway
This aint
They only caught lighting in bottle twice
You should be a reviewer, every single thing you’ve said there I relate or agree with. Spot on. A real shame.
And here I was actually excited seeing this game pop up on Steam. The first two were awesome, this looks so meh. Screw this.
Yeah its very very meh unfortunately

@@JohnCalum The simpsons should get a rehydrated treatment aka having one of their old games get the rehydrated treatment aka the simpsons hit and run game.
Unfortunately, this game really is that shit, played for about 45 mins and doubt I’ll bother to pick it up again which is painful to say given how much I love South Park and how good TSOT and FBW were.
With the quality and quantity of recent “seasons,” I think I’m ready to finally say, at 37 yrs of age, I’m over South Park.
