Technical Messenger 08 | 2023 Causes of a defective resistor on the interior blower

Broken interior blower resistors caused by a blown thermal fuse are often more a symptom than the root cause of the problem.
Nonetheless, faulty resistors need to be replaced. Make sure to check if the fan wheel rotates freely and is not rubbing against anything in the process.
The air section from the cabin filter to the interior blower should also be checked and cleaned if necessary.
