Thanks for the comment and please take a moment to subscribe! Cool thing is you can identify all Cannondale's in similar fashion this way!

Hello there. I have a 2003 Jekyll 700 and my ultra fatty in giving me a hard time even after being rebuild last year. I am thinking about putting a new fork, but here is my question first. WHich reducer kit would work with a bike like mine? Do the parts you mentioned fit on my 2003 Jekyll? Thanks, Pat

Hi Pat I am replying to all these comments just to be sure you see them! I would measure your frame, you have to remove the fork/headset and the headset cups and then measure the opening using digital calipers. This FSA fits a 55mm cannondale frame for example.....FSA Orbit Z Reducer Headset: amzn.to/3CNQDv5

Hi, I have that exact bike. My head shok is locked up. What are my replacement options if I can't find a “Rock Shok indy xc”?

Hi Stewart, thanks for subscribing and I am happy to help! The Indy fork I used is very old and is more of an upgrade I got lucky finding local. I would recommend something newer like the RockShox TK30 with a lockout, you can find that here: amzn.to/31Mmuuz. You will also need a conversion headset as the steerer tube is GIANT on your headshok, as is the stem and handlebars....though this is a great time to upgrade it all in one go. You'll never have to worry about failure or have difficulty servicing the bike in the future and you can adjust your comfort level with a new stem angle/length as well as wider bars. Sell your old stuff on ebay to offset the upgrades if you want! The broken fork brings good $$ on ebay, mine brought $75 shipped and the stem alone brought $32. I also did a video on the headshok and fork conversion specifically, you can checkout here: ua-cam.com/video/jxGKGapsBn4/v-deo.html
      -Conversion Headset, I used a Cane Creek : amzn.to/3mlmr2m
-Stem: UNO 7 31.8mm threadless stem, VERY LIGHT: amzn.to/2Prqk6p
      -MTB Riser Handlebars: 720MM Wide & 31.8mm diameter: amzn.to/33E5etZ
-You'll need stem spacers as well! amzn.to/3fJVW5n

In regards to the headset reducer. I noticed that you had cane creek & FSA. Was that just two different options or did you have to switch from one to another?

Thank you for the question and please take a moment to subscribe to my channel! This video is older now and because of the pandemic, parts have been extremely hard to find. Both headset adapters will work, I used a Cane Creek headset because it is what I had available to me.

@@D2WrenchWorksDIY which stem would you recommend?

Matt the Uno 7 is as light as most carbon stems and is crazy cheap. They are always my go to stems; link here: amzn.to/3HIZsaJ

@@D2WrenchWorksDIY Thanks again for all of your input! I’ve got a 95 super v 900 I bought new & since my 2 year old is on his balance bike I thought this would be a good time to tune up the ole super v.

    Hey brother!
I too have the same bike as you, and not until now have I actually considered restoring it myself... I wish I had thought about this long ago.
Do you happen to have an email I could contact you with photos and information about the condition of my bike, and perhaps help me out with where to go from there?
    I would tremendously appreciate this.
    Thank you
    Nathan

Are you saying it already has a cane creek xx11 tapered headset already installed? What fork is on the bike right now?

Well it could work fine to be honest and if I kept that bike it would be a fun build! I had a cheap fork that’s way old I used in this vid, couple things here:
-#1 my fork only had a straight steerer
-#2 the Cannondale head tube that houses the headset is HUGE so you don’t need old stuff like I used.
-#3 the most important part is does your fork have a taper?

    • @dereksmith7965
      @dereksmith7965 3 роки тому +1

@@D2WrenchWorksDIY yes the fork has a taper and oh believe me I plan on keeping it thank you for all the information you provided I’m a long time viewer and subscriber
