Hello my dear! Thank you for the shout out about my adventures with your beloved grandfather! He was such a wonderful person. I will never forget that day and modeling for him. My brother saw your video and contacted me. Back then ABC television was run by account executives who knew nothing about art! I laughed when you recounted how Frank told them to shove it. It’s all true! I treasure the memory of my visit with your family. My ex did end up designing all the Star Wars posters and had to use a different artist. He was good but nothing will ever compare to Frank Frazetta!❤
While serving for 39+ years in the U.S. military, I painted approximately 100 aircraft mural images. And your grandfather was one of my inspirations. The images on the Molly Hatchet album covers were stunning! I thank you for keeping his legacy alive!

Frazetta is one of my favorites and a big influence/inspiration to me as an artist. I first discovered him as a little kid by looking at and reading through my father’s Creepy and Eerie magazines back in the 70s.
Had the honor of meeting your Grandma at the museum in 2006. She was a real sweetheart and was great to spend the day viewing all the great art Frank created in person. Frank Frazetta's work has been inspirational to me, since I was about 10 years old, and to this day, I have prints of some of his work, hanging on the walls of my house. Thank you for your real life background stories! And your "Frazetta Girls" logo is freaking AWESOME, so perfectly Frazetta! 😍
Frank's work is always an inspiration! I'd love to know more about the artists that inspired him and where he found inspiration for creating his paintings? Did he turn to the works of antiquity or other contemporary artists? Was his goal to reimagine the traditional conventions of both his period piece works as well as science fiction and fantasy works
Wow, that is wonderful. I am seeing so much that your grandfather, Frank Frazzeta, did that I did not know about. I can look at his art with adoration for long periods of time.❤
Glad to get a little more background info. Frazetta will ALWAYS be my primary artistic inspiration. I remember coming across the B: G themed images in one of the Ballentyne(?sp) books and always wondered what that was about, because the likenesses of known stars were unusual in my experience with Frazetta's work. Now I know...
So much of Frazetta's sci-fi work, along with Fire and Ice, inspired us to create what we're doing, now. There's something about sexuality that mixes so well with science fiction. I think it's the idea that in the future we'll be free of the stigmas that necessity demands we rain in. It may never be that way but the fictional aspects of the future allow our minds to freely explore every avenue of what it has to offer without fear of getting it wrong, no matter how indulgent or "silly" our imaginations get. We have a fantastical testing ground that gets us going.
Frank Frazetta's art just raised stories and movies to epic quality! Love the expressions on the pilots faces in the "Scamble" painting, and I think granddad really pegged Richard Hatch . Thanks Sara for another fun show!
I’ve loved Frank’s art since my teen years - 5 decades. As an artist, he is THE master. At Pasadena Art Center one teacher told his students, stop trying to paint like Frazetta. There is only one Frazetta. Yet we all do…his work is still so powerful and original. Nothing compares in the genre even today.
What a fascinating story and I always wondered why BSG was only one season. I loved them both as a kid and always loved Frazetta's work. Thank you, Sara, for hooking us up with the details!! Your passion shines through and I have no doubt Frank would have been proud of you. I just subbed and look forward to watching the content!
Thank you very much for the insight on the behind the scenes information. Frank Frazetta was an awesome designer of dreams of my youth. His paintings of science fiction and fantasy were a big part of my teens.
Met Frank many years ago at a show and a true gentleman and great artist, we all had a good laugh as both our names are closely spelled a long lost cousin..lol your doing a fantastic job with keeping his legacy alive.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hey, Sara! Another great episode! So nice to learn the complete story about this group of sensational Frazetta paintings that I've always loved. I'm old enough to have actually watched Battlestar Galactica when it originally aired, and I was thrilled to see your grandfather's paintings used to promote the show. Gotta say, I never liked Star Wars, so I was happy to hear that Frazetta turned it down. I always thought it was really overrated -- a three dressed up as a nine, with big-budget production values but a lousy, derivative story. It took a hell of a lot of nerve for them to sue over Battlestar Galactica when you consider how much of Star Wars was ripped off of Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, and Jack Kirby's New Gods. And speaking of Buck Rogers, the "Pharaoh's Tomb" painting always seemed to me like it was actually a painting of Wilma, Buck and Doctor Huer, disguised as a Galactica painting. Not that it mattered, because it was my favorite painting of the lot! Thanks for your efforts to keep your grandfather's life and work in the spotlight. I've been a huge Frazetta fan since the mid-seventies and I've always considered him and Norman Rockwell to be the two greatest painters of the 20th century, in spite of the vast differences in their subject matter. Frazetta's sheer talent and uncompromising artistic integrity have made him an inspiration to countless artists throughout the last fifty-plus years, and hopefully that legacy will continue for many decades to come.
Please learn the difference between rip-off and inspiration. The Magnificent Seven is a remake of The Seven Samurai for American audiences. It is not a rip off.
I think it is fun to try to picture that almost STAR WARS art, I have pretty much devoured everything Frank created, can put that to good use. Thanks for the battle star info!
Very interesting story on this. Hats off to Frank and Ellie for standing their ground, business wise, and coming out on top!!! I think a lot of people mistakenly think that art and illustration is all fun and games. Reality - it's like any other business, and you have to fight to keep your inspiration, motivation, and integrity.
Always love Frank frazetta artwork I grew up in time when I seen the artwork available it was on music covers of different bands I enjoyed.. My mother was Barbara Jean frazetta, my grandfather was Paul frazetta, it is crazy to be connected to one of the most talented and pioneering painter of his time. Always wonder if I was related to him many generations ago. ❤😂❤

The pictures are beautiful, I have admired them many times on the internet but knew nothing about the artist behind them.👍
Glad I could provide some context!!!! Thanks for being here.
Wonderful story of a legend; well presented...
Thank you so much for subscribing. Appreciate your kindness and love for Frazetta's work!
Thank you for this. FF is indeed an influential iconic and truly amazing talent.
Some of the greatest art that I can think of..inspired the movie Conan The Barbarian from 1982..and the comic book art of great artists..
Great info Sara! Never heard this info before, very cool!
She's such a beautiful lady ❣️.. your grandfather is still and always be my favorite Artist
Star Wars was a complete rip-off of the Japanese story "The Hidden Fortress".
Please learn the difference between rip-off and inspiration.
The Magnificent Seven is a remake of The Seven Samurai for American audiences.
It is not a rip off.
❤❤❤❤❤ much love from Australia.Clay ❤❤❤❤love the books and mags ❤️ much to love to your Grandad so sorry his past ❤❤
OMG you look just like your grandma!! 😍😎
This was so cool! I love these behind the scenes stories
I think it is fun to try to picture that almost STAR WARS art, I have pretty much devoured everything Frank created, can put that to good use. Thanks for the battle star info!
It would have been iconic. I wish they would have come to an agreement.
Awesome to learn about this art; I had no idea. Those TV Guide ads would be great framed on the wall!
So true! The two are intertwined. One can't get too blinded by passion. The balance is everything.
I had several of you Grandfather's posters.. No way I could afford a real painting or print, I love his artwork! Thanks for sharing.. Good video!
You speak very well. So much of YT doesn't. Fun show!
