Partially you are right here in my off grid setup i didn't purchase inverter and battery. I used my existing inverter and battery which lower my over all cost. Since it is 12v system iam going to maintain same amount of cost for battery after 6years. Ongrid grid system still costly and government planning for subsidy in that case people who install this year may get subsidy.

Wind turbine model not a successful model in chennai. Also it is costlier than solar panel implementation. Instead you can have battery souce for night time and charge it using morning hours.

Bad investment. I invested in two installations of 1 KW each. initially they were sukam. company went out of business and the product had issues. Replaced with hykon. Biggest cost was batteries. Two of my batteries blew up from overcharge issues. Now I disconnected the solar setup since the batteries had to be constantly topped up leading to safety issues with acid. Replacement cost for 4 lead acid batteries is about 50,000. Not worth it. Netmetering might be better - but the TN govt cannot be trusted for long term payments. In future we might have LiPo batteries that can be used both for scooter and UPS - that might be a better option...
@@DiwakarRajanOnline my tall tubulars lasted about 3-4 years. But the problem is that I have to redo the entire battery investment every 3 years. Also, i need to refill battery liquid every 4-6 months. That is a headache because it is risky as there is acid involved, and there was a bit of shock if you touch any terminals by mistake. Not ideal for domestic users. EB also has problems during rainy season - a few times they sent 440V due to their problem !!! This causes issues with the inverter. Even without such EB issues, the inverter develops problems after 3 years - which is why most of these companies only give 2-3 years warranty for inverter. I spent 5Lakhs on two installations - complete waste. I would not recommend Lead Acid batteries. I prefer LifePO batteries that last 10 years, with many more recharche cycles - and safer too. But the price is still too high for such batteries. But because of growth in EV segment, I think such LifePO battery cost will come down in 1-2 years. So I would recommend waiting for 2 years.
@@damu2000 yes why we have to waste the solar production, If we switch into ongrid system, unused power will send it to grid, 100% we can utilise the energy. But this system only works when the grid supply is present.

Go for Ongrid system with minimum 2kw panel capacity. Check with nearest dealer and get quotation. Go for polypanels which will bring down the cost.
