- This is a fully optimized, custom made Class C battlecruiser, the Freestar Ulysses. It is a premier Freestar ship made only with parts from the Freestar Collective. All its systems are fully powered and its stats are maxed out for a large Class C ship.

Really love this build. It's not very easy to make a good-looking ship with optimal performance in this game, but you do a fantastic job. Re: using the HopeTech thrusters to emulate forward-mounted guns, I definitely hope we see a DLC or mod at some point that introduces proper spinal/fixed mounted weapons. I wanna be able to build my ships around a huge railgun or plasma cannon that runs almost the whole length of the ship, think MAC guns from Halo.
That would be so cool. I can't wait for some really great mods or even just updates that change and add to the ship building system

Just a quick note here but shields unlike weapons use the power slots for sheild output, even if your shield is not at 100% a better shield may give you more shield points per power output. The one you used for example is 109.5 shield per power (1095/10) while the sg1800 shield for example has a max power of 12 but a full rating of 1600 which is 133.3 shield per power.
If you where to use the sg1800 while at 10 points which is 83% the same used for 100% of the weaker shield it would have given you 1333 shield.
Aha! I love you said that, because I actually made an advanced build guide where i said the same thing. However, not fully powering the shields lowers the recharge rate, and I actually dont care about either of those things, I wanted a side mounted shield because its less ugly on this build LOL
I would have personally chosen the 44T Defender Shield instead. Same look but weighs less (68 vs 115) uses only 9 power for only just a little less health (1035 vs 1095) with the better 7% regen rate. It costs less too (33,900 vs 41,500). The only "downside" is that it requires Starship Design rank 4. But it shouldn't be too difficult given your original shield (103D) requires rank 3.

Hi I really love your builds, you put so much care into crafting these ships. I don't know if you take requests, but it would be great to see your take at creating a ship inspired by Galaxy Express 999 or Galaxy Railway. It's basically a anime where you see train looking spaceships. I couldn't really find anybody that has attempted this yet.

Connect habs directly via the "port/doorway" you wish to use to gurantee that connection, which will take precedence when connecting.
Which starport did you use to build this? I been jumping to each place trying to find the right one but no luck😅
Hahah my bad, I should mention that I prebuild it then tear it down to record rebuilding it. You'll need to go to Hopetown for the cockpit and the mess hall, New Homestead for the landing gears, reactor, grav drive, and other NG parts, then Akila or Neon to finish up with all the other stuff like engines, docker, and other aesthetics
How do you build ships from scratch without needing another ship?
I just cut out the beginning where I start from a random Spacer ship I stole from a pirate 😂
How many total credits was this build?
I dont remember exactly but probably around $350k-$500k. The engines alone will cost about $65k each
