Same only in the sense that the same room needs to serve two different purposes. Nick needs the room to be a studio and a spare bedroom. In my case, my room needs to be a studio and an electronics workshop, and having various bits of half disassembled equipment on a workbench with breadboards and tiny drawers full of transistors and integrated circuits doesn't create a good vibe for making music. I'm in the middle of rearranging my studio right now around the realization that one of the desks I was using as a workbench fits in the closet, so I can put the messiest parts of a project there and close the door! Of course, I then needed to figure out where to put the stuff that was already in the closet...
Best room shape ever ! Prefect alcove for a desk / monitoring (before the door) the bigger room... throw the drums at one end... this room is setup so badly right now! Not being used to 10% of its potential..And all that’s needed is to throw out the bed and sofa! Occupy! Takeover ! Nick you need this ENTIRE space! It’s such a good space!
I love to see such a successful drummer be so humble and have a minimalist setup. Good for you Nick! I loved the stories - especially the ones about the drums and Taylor Swift :) Also, it's very impressive that the apollo is dominating the setup so comfortably; it's a great product for sure. I know Andrew loves it too. Good luck with everything Nick! Great tour Andrew.
Very inspiring. In the process of speccing and building my own (and very first for me) drum studio room. So excited and great to see these vids for inspiration and so educational, many thanks!
I love these videos. That is a great space! Getting prepared to build a new space this fall and your videos are really helping me design it! Thank you!
I love these videos so much!! Especially when the studios are kitted for awesome drum recordings. I think it would be so cool if you could maybe include sound samples of each of these studios. Have them play a few seconds of a groove with fills so that each of these videos can demo their drum sounds, and then comment on their drum sounds!
Thanks Dolf, the point of these videos are to give a tour of the space and look at the gear. If you want to hear or see more you can go check them out after the tour, links for the guests are always in the description. Here is Nick tracking drums in his space, go give him a sub! ua-cam.com/video/5AaPOxfn0zY/v-deo.html
Dude, stoked to hear you got the 33609, I personally have the Vintech Custom Shop 609CA which is their take on the neve 33609 with 2254 output amplifiers, so the tone is slightly different. It is always my drum parallel and I love it, I can’t wait to see a video on your new comp, so I compare to mine and see where they differ!!! Great video as well, always stoked to see a new studio tour from your channel as you never disappoint!!!!!
Hey Andrew! Another great video as usual. I have what looks to be the same monitor stands that I picked up years ago from Musician's Friend. They are DR Pro SMS1BK's.
There's no way to express how useful tours of these kinds of students have been to me. The tours of the big fancy studios all look the same after a while -- they all ultimately have largely the same lists of equipment set up largely the same way, with just small variations on the theme. Christian Henson often encourages his viewers to embrace their limitations as a source of creativity; it's interesting to see what equipment choices people make when they have limited space and limited budget, especially when they just need to please themselves, and not check boxes that a producer or engineer coming into a studio are going to want checked (U87, 1176, LA2A, etc.)
Love this setup. I especially enjoyed how Nick made this a very open, multi-purpose room, like a studio air-b-and-b or something. That makes it seem even more creative and comfortable in my opinion. :)
Awesome stuff. For future episodes: as much as I love to see the hardware I’m also interested in what plug-ins all these people use for their production. Would be cool to check that out as well.
Andrew, any possibility of you doing a studio tour of Nick Buda's new buildout when it is completed? Would love to see that!
Nick the beast Buda. Who else has a setup like Nick??

My drummer!! He played on my stuff at Soultrain Studios in Berry Hill!! He's amazing!! 🙌🙌🙌 Great video!! 🙌🙌
- Can I ask about the mics?
- Shure.
A simple , cost effective setup from a top player. Less technicalities. This helped me a lot..love Nick's mantra.
Such a great guy, knows exactly what he’s talking about. He has lots of success but he has not let it go to his head.
I have a friend in Atlanta who has a Noble & Cooley kit. Awesomeness!!!
A lesson on how to keep it simple and get effective results. Excellent.
Keeping it simple is where real musicians make music 🎶
Nice! LOVE MONDAY'S

People really need to mention that most cars these days have an eq system built in. It's so overlooked
That's one smart Homonid, thanks for this interview 👍

What shell sizes are that gretsch broadkaster?

Not to split hairs, but the desk comes from GC. Sweetwater does not sell those.
DO YOU HAVE A SMOKE DETECTOR SYSTEM IN THIS STUDIO ?? DOES SMOKING CIGARETTES AFFECT THE VENTING SYSTEM
What are the acoustic panels?
👍🏼👍🏼

Very cool bro
