    Wow ! Mind you I'm viewing this from my phone but the RP 360 XP sounded better in both comparison clips...didn't expect that.👍

    I prefer the Digitech Rp. I have noticed that the Marshall models in general on the RP benefit from adding an EQ boost which really brings them to life in my opinion.

      Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

      I can't decide between the 360xp and the mooer ge150. Would you say that 360 is the best choice in 2020?

    The RP360 has that Marshall presence to it.

    I have both. They both shine at different things. Ge200 using amp and cab IRs are big differentiator.

    I am very lucky as I have both pedals. I love the digitech for its nice editor the addded footswitch capability (which I use) and the multitude of modulation and other special effects. The GE 200 on the other hand shines with its reverbs and delays and of course the ability to load new amp models(10) and IR´s for the cab sim.
    From a sound point of view both pedals have merits and deficits dependig on chosen amp model and guitar (pickups) used. As with all modellers what does the trick for a sound with one guitar must not work with the next guitar. The differences in the pickups can make such a huge difference. So that sounds have to be adapted or rather developed for each instrument and circumstance (output to amp/recording).
    However once that sound is perfect its a matter of saving and recalling a preset and you are spot on there.
    Thats what I love with those pedal solutions.

    How the heck did I miss Digitech when I was out buying the multieffect processor!!? It sounds so close to the recorded Marshall tone!
    Chris do ya have a comparison of Digitech and Zoom G3?

      You didn't miss it, their multi effects are increasingly harder to come by as they (incredibly) discontinued ALL of them circa 2018.

    I just wish I could get the digitech to sound good in front of an amp. Any suggestions? It could be me. I've always been "plug and play", so I don't really enjoy spending hours trying to tweak the sound.

      Since it has built-in amp sims and cab sims, I tend to play mine through a PA or a powered cab like the Headrush FRFR 108.
      When you play through your amp, are you setting it to the clean channel and then using the RP-360 for all the effects and tone?
      Just curious, what amp are you using?
      Are you turning off the cab sim on the patches?

    • @immortalgram
      @immortalgram 4 роки тому

      Did you try running it into your effects loop?

    • @jlmcgrot
      @jlmcgrot 4 роки тому +1

      @@Tone-Quest Yes, I've turned off the amp and cab sims. I will sometimes still use the amp sim and with an additional effect like a tube screamer for some additional drive.
      It just never sounds natural and sort of has the digital ice pick sound. I've played around with it a bit in the past, but it's something I've been thinking about again lately which is how I came across the video.
      For amps, mostly a couple of old cheap tube amps, but primarily A peavey classic 30.

      @@jlmcgrot I thought of something you can check, with at least one cable plugged into either the left or right output jacks of the RP-360XP, push the "SYSTEM" button of the left of the LCD screen and see what what the middle column shows as the "OUTPUT TO"... AMP or MIXER? If MIXER then rotate the knob below it, to change it to AMP. I could see where this might be the issue. Definitely, worth checking.
