      There is no one somali who has no genetic relation with other ethnics.
      Somalis are human and humans were inter marrying thousand of years.
      Every somali has percentage with north African and percentage of bantu and percentage of Asian in there blood.
      You are insulting your self when you say we're not related to anyone because that is simply not true.
      I am somali and I checked my DNA and I have big happy family from Bantu, Arab, Indian, and North african and I am proud of that.

    One thing I cannot understand is, most people who commented on this videos trying to make everything that nice is not African. They also trying to make darker skin people are ugly or less attractive compare to people with lighter skin, rubbish and non sens. Africa is the most diverse continent with all his different skin color and it's beautiful this way. Everyone that think he is not African because he is a lighter skin then he is free to go back where he came from and leave Africa to the Africans, simple

    I'm Sudanese (north). most sudanese people don't really consider themselves arabs, even though we speak arabic (we have our own unique dialect that other arabs find hard to understand sometimes). Sudan is a complicated multiethnic region, but generally we're descended from the Nubians who are dark skinned africans that later mixed with nomadic Arabs who moved into the region. Ethnicities in Sudan are basically like this; west people are more related to the people of chad and the Sahel. People in the north are almost exactly the same as the people of southern Egypt. Easterners are very similar to Ethiopians, some have mixed with arabs some haven't. People from centre are somewhat a mix between Northerners and easterners (this is the dominant culture in the country). North eastern tribes are mostly arabs who migrated from the Arabian peninsula a couple centuries ago. In the southern regions (of north sudan) you'll find the Nuba people, who are basically the original Nubians that haven't mixed anyone, they're very dark skinned (don't confuse them with south sudanese though) and they're known for there physical strength and their love for wrestling and dancing. Overall Sudanese culture is extremely unique, rich and ancient and I think we've done a very bad job at cultivating it and giving it to the world. CHeeeers, love your videos.

      Thanks for that info. I love the Dinka and Nuer people. The Alek Wek looking types, I think they're so gorgeous. Men and women. They just LOOK ancient and timeless, you know??? Just googled the Nuba... another beautiful people. I hate that there is conflict going on over there. I blame the Arabs, of course, as well as their arabized converts aka janjaweed. I know little about Sudan obviously, but I know a racial/ethnic genocide when I see one, even if its hiding behind some other name.

      Yes. Like there are tribes and clans then sub-clans. According to scriptures there is Japheth and his children. These are all from a tribe that grew into clans and sub-clans. There are some familiar names here.
      Just for an example:
      The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshek and Tiras. The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath and Togarmah. The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittites and the Rodanites. (From these the maritime peoples spread out into their territories by their clans within their nations, each with its own language.)

I don't have much Arab in me. If you think my stock is attractive than it is primarily due to the African DNA. Aden, I completely agree, west African or east African, African women are beautiful , being the from west or east doesn't make you any-less beautiful, also the whole east Africans having European features are completely bullshit lies, it's actually some europeans who have a little east African DNA mixed with their mostly neanderthal DNA.
      Africans( true 100% humans) are most genetically diverse people on the entire planet, and someone from Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia or Eritrea, I know that there are more countries but I am focusing on the most commonly associated ones, with light brown skin or very light brown skin and long straight or long loose curly hair is 99.99999999999999999% or most likely 100% of the time, 100% African (human) with 0% white people (neanderthal) DNA, despite the "results" from East Africans on UA-cam sharing their "DNA est results" , they know their history and so do their families .
      I have looser curly hair and some of my friends have tighter "kinky" hair, we all have 100% African DNA ( 100% human) and all of our parents are Ethiopian from areas very close to each other, my hair is no better than his hair, I've even meet other Ethiopians who are also 100% African, no mixing who live in high mountains who have natural straight hair, "kinky", looser curly and just about every kind of hair shape their is with different kinds facial features, don't ever let ignorant, uneducated people like the guy in this video, try to separate you from you heritage and try to say that it belongs to his people, Aden, a beautiful African woman like yourself could have been an Egyptian, Ethiopian
      or any African empire empress

    Somalis, Oromo, Afar, Agew, Beja, Sidamo, Saho, Woleita and Konso are closely related ancient people. The Nilotics including Dinka, Samburu, Masai, Nuer, Murle have always lived close to the Cushitics. Being African American means nothing to me. only history they claim us to have is slavery nothing more. It’s the only thing we are taught about our skin. So to see this breakdown to see people that look like me even now. I feel so happy. Be thankful for at-least being home. Because some of us don’t have one. No matter what someone else says, at least you know where it is you come from. Be thankful for that.

    thin lips and thin noses in the horn of Africa or anywhere else in Africa are not the result of mixing with anybody. Africans across Africa can have these features among any number of features. Many West Africans also have these features along with Sudanese as well. This is simply Europeans trying to claim some "special" legacy in human evolution when there is none. The first thin nosed thin lipped people were black African people and those are the people you see in India and South Asia and South Arabia. All human features originate in Africa and Africa is the most diverse population on the planet in terms of facial features. Humans have lived in Africa longer than any other place on earth. With recent findings pushing the time frame back to 300,000 years. And Ethiopia and Kenya are some of the oldest locations of modern human remains. Europeans have been on earth how long? So please. Africa is the root of everything: civilization, genetics, human features, religion, culture and so forth. The first Europeans were Africans. The first Asians were Africans. The first Arabians as well. If Ethiopians are "so mixed" why are most Ethiopians so black in complexion? The Somalis have even finer features than Ethiopians along with Kenyans like the Maasai and Rendille and and other Africans like the Tutsi. Are they mixed too? Please this is absurd.

      40.000 years ago a big group of peopl who had migrated to Europe and Asia returned propably because they needed to. Africa had always had the better climate when the shit hit the van and this is now the admixture came. But also because South-Arabia and the Horn traded a lot and later on they started trading with Western India off course there was dna-mixture. You cannot stop people having sex. And since the Malagaysi and Comores have high percentage of South East Asian blood it is not farfetched to think more places in East Africa have the same. As it is the otherway around. Still this only has to account for a low percentage. In the case of people from the Horn it is because of the remigrating 40.000 years ago and maybe during the Great Flood 13.000 years ago.

    we are not mixed.
    For starters, researchers have observed a high frequency of the derived SLC24A5 allele (Ala111Thr or rs1426654) among various Cushitic- and Semitic-speaking Afro-Asiatic populations in Ethiopia. This mutation is closely associated with lighter skin pigmentation, and is believed to have originated in or near West Asia. Almost 60% of Ethiopian Jews and ethnic Somalis from Somalia carry the variant. Tekola-Ayele et al. (2015) found a similarly high percentage of the allele among the Omotic-speaking Wolayta. By contrast, only 12% or so of the Ari ironworkers possess the Ala111Thr polymorphism. Since the Mota specimen does not carry the mutation, this suggests that the ancestors of the Afro-Asiatic groups in the Horn were responsible for having introduced the allele into the Ari gene pool. This, in turn, implies that these early Afro-Asiatic settlers were of a lighter complexion than the Ari’s Mota-like forebears.

      Can someone please enlighten me? I've always wondered are horners "mixed" with various invading groups, or have they always looked that way? I ask because the Omo Valley Ethiopians, the ones who don't have that mixed look, are very much indigenous. I'm not saying you're any less African, but did you guys give Arabs that look, or did they give that look to you? Don't know if I asked that question correctly, lol....

    • @Dagaleeoromo
      @Dagaleeoromo 7 років тому +18

      moosieh1 no, 'horners' aren't mixed. The reason why the people from the Omo valley look different is because they're from a different cultural, linguistic, and ethnic background to what most people think of as 'horners' - Afro-Asiatic speaking people. There are other linguistic/cultural/ethnic groups in Ethiopia like Niolithic (similar to south Sudanese) and Omotic(omo valley)

    Dont Africans just love when non-africans can't comprehend the genetic diversity of the continent and resort to the "mixed" narrative? Because it's so wrong to go with fact that every non majorly mutated "eurasian" marker oginated within africa and later spread.
    Africans invented that middle-eastern influence you're speaking about as well as proto-asiatic languages which later went into the Levant. The great majority of languages in the afro-asiatic tree are african and only ONE is spoken in part outside of Africa-semetic. *Horners, like all NATIVE (non-arab) upper Africans look different due to the environment not admixture. It's the dessert weather. That's why these Africans have a special look. it's thiers. *
    Remember, the arabs migrated to north Africa around 640AD, supported by the genetics of Arab north Africans showing this time point as a heavy "african" admixed time frame. There were even invaders during the BC times. You'd find "East african" looking folk anywhere outside major cities in north africa. The northern end of Africa's natural inhabitants have always been somali and other upper africans like the baja, woodabe, baja, nubian, afar etc Aswell as non-mixed berbers who resemble these groups.
    Africans carry genetic marker from around the world yet when studied they're consistently found not to be a result of admixture but of populations disconnect and mutation. Example: Horners/upper african "asiatic" marker is the result of a 10,000 yr population divide leading to the latter becoming the west eurasians we have today. As well this is our theory of modern times, humans have been around much longer than our science can assume.
    *keep in mind markers do not belong to any set racial group nor do they lead to a phenotypic expression*
    The people. of Fiji for instance appear African yet are closely related to Asians. As well, markers don't equate to race- Arabs carry a certain gene because they stem from that ancesteral group that came for the horn. In a couple thousand years we could have a new group who appear Asian but stem from Europeans. it's all environment (phenotype) and ancestry (genetics). the two don't mix.
    If you're interested in ethnic groups and races do some in depth research and keep away from the eueasia first narrative of events.
    Even the afro-asiatic language tree is the least supported group completely based on guesses with minor connections. Its agreed its heavily semetic biased as well even though the semetic languages are the offspring of the older branches such as cushtic or noobin.
    Only now people are researching on Africa so don't be quick to believe everything you find.

    • @najma2613
      @najma2613 7 років тому +9

      It's important to know what most refer to as an east african look is shared by all native saharan africans. Different groups migrated into north africa since 3000yrs ago. Either they mixed with some locals or stayed amongst themselves. That is why we find the major north african cities are "arab" but outside them you'll find folk you'd call "east african". Somalis and all native north africans (a third of africa) alike are referred to as elongated african. Their look is an adaptation to the african desert/sahel climate hence the small (not arab/white looking) noses, curly hair, skull shape and long limbs.
      Unless you're in the sciences you wouldn't be able to comprehend the rubbish these dna tests employ. For starters, every person in the world is related, with eurasions being most similar to one another and africans being the most dissimilar to eachother. The range in diversity of africa is explained by the early mutations and populations divide humans in africa underwent. All haplogroup (the supposed "dna" indicators) are found in africa *independent of mixture, with many of them producing the younger stems all non-africans carry. Every human carries a mix of dna stems showing their mutated lineage, not neccessarily their mixed past.
      These blood groupings are labeled by the region with the highest frequency and not by place of origin.
      For example, 30% east asian= a haplogroup commonly found in east asia . Problem is many groups carry the same stem. To find Admixture one needs to date the time the introduction of this gene occured and what type it is. Is it similar to east asian haplogroups or a related on? Older or younger? etc. These test SQUISH and SIMPLIFY so much that if the common ancestor of all eurasions were to be tested they'd come back as "asian+european" when in fact they're likely an ancient horn african. See the point?
      Although africa is the most geneticly diverse place on the planet (two africans are more genetically dissimilar than a northern european and han chinese) these tests simply group them as "sub saharan" or "mixed". It's an event of admixture that shows race mixing which is absent in horn african groups and instead shows their dna is the result of an early mutation, relative to the predecessor of eurasion groups. This theory is valid (if not fact) yet isn't upheld for political reasons.
      The "asian" or "non-african" gene found in these africans, a very small percent, had first originated within the horn. Somalis being the likely originators. The oldest arab tribes are known to come from the horn plus the dna evidence supports this. Arabic as well is a subset of desert african languages. With linguistics, anthropology and genetics we find time again eurasians didn't give rise to this large group of africans through a small mixing event but africans gave rise to them.
      Still, this small dna feature, if you are arguing is still due to mixing (which is impossible scientifically speaking) it wouldn't give rise to their features or appearance in the least. East africans look the way the do as their environment dictated them to. Whites and arabs have broad jaws, short limbs, broad and wide nose bridges, no prognathism, flat forheads and many more features that belong *solely to them*. Why can whites say to them belongs a gene, a skull shape and more when it's a human phenomena and not european?
      Seriously, as a scientist these tests are just childrens play. No one should take them seriously. The interpretations should be you have X% of dna that's found with europeans, X% found in here and etc.

    Can you pleases stop propagating this myth that Ethiopians are mixed with Arabs! It's getting really tiresome to constantly correct people on this. Arab is not a race. It's linguistic cultural identity. Just like Latino is not a race. Arabs can be white, African, Asians, etc. There are millions of Africans who in Saudi Arabia and Yemen. This is why you see many Saudi's and Yemenis with kinky hair and dark skin.
    Arab identity was imposed on none Arabs with the spread of Islam. Pre-Islam only Saudi Arabians was considered Arab. Islam is an Arab supremacist religion. This is why when people become Muslims, they change their ethnic name and adapt an Arab name, they eat Arab food, they observe Arab holidays, they read and pray in Arabic, they dress like 7th century Arab, their calendar becomes Arab, they write Arabic, they incorporate Arabic words, etc.
    As a result Arab encompasses a wide range of people. From blond haired, blued eyed, Syrians, Palestinians, Lebanese to the dark skinned kinky hair Yemenis, Sudanese, and North Africans. You're considered Arab is you speak Arabic and follow Islam, just like you're considered Latino if you speak Spanish and Catholic. Nothing to do with race, everything to do with linguistic cultural identity. Please, understand the difference! Goodness!

    • @moosieh1
      @moosieh1 7 років тому

      You have that "mixed" look. I think its safe to say that the indigenous or prototypical Ethiopian looked more like the Omo Valley. But based on your last sentence, you're saying the complete opposite -- that the "arab" or "Indian" look came from Horners. I'm inclined to believe both are essentially true. That the Omo Valley and "mixed" looking Ethiopian are both indigenous groups to the area, and the "mixed" Ethiopian look traveled EAST. I see a lot of resemblances between Horners, Arabs and Indians, particularly the ancient types. These were all Black groups in ancient times, I think in ancient times many horners looked just like you (aquiline features, wavy hair) but with darker skin. I think the white skin color came from Persia and India via the Aryans that came from up north -- and through miscegenation and conquest, that white skin color (which is now turning brown through mixing) has slowly moved WESTWARD in more recent times, especially via the arab invasion.

      It's hardly a myth and does have genetic evidence behind it, although not at a substantial level. there was some gene flow from south Arabians to habesha people during their linguistic shift to a south Arabian language they speak today, this was around 2,800 years ago.

    +Masaman - You should have included the Mande people in this video. That is the Soninke, Malinke, Juula, Bamana, etc. We are Central Saharan people, who are originally from Mauritania. Also, we ruled all of the sahelian empires you mentioned in your video... Ghana, Mali, and Songhai.

    • @jenohavin
      @jenohavin 7 років тому +2

      m018264808888 Yeah I heard that also. Is it true all Mande people originate from the Bafour people. From modern day Western Sahara/Mauritania? Also, I thought the Zarma ethnic group, who speak a Nilo Saharan Songhai dialect. Ruled the Songhai Empire?

    • @ManeOuattara
      @ManeOuattara 7 років тому

      +James Moore Vlogs - Yes, I have heard that we are related to the Bafour people. Not sure about the Zarma ethnic group, though. I have never heard of them. And regarding Songhai... No, the Songhai dialect did not rule the "Songhai" Empire. There was a coup d'état, against Mali, in which the Songhai people did take power for around twenty five years. But then, Askia Mohamed, who was Soninke (Mande) came to power, and from that point, all of the remaining "Askias" of Songhai/Manden were again Mande for the next hundred or so years. But, most people in the Empire spoke Malinke/Juula/Bambara, which is essentially one language (Mandenka), with only minor variations between them. Similar to British English vs. American English. So, in actuality, the Mandenka language ruled the Songhai Empire, as it always had prior to their uprising. This is what I know about it.

The tribes that inhabit Ethiopian and Eritrea are pure race people that have lived there thousands of years. Eritreans as well as Ethiopians are pure and clean blooded like Norwegians and Germans. Just because I dislike the regimes that have ruled Ethiopia does not mean I hate Ethiopians. I give credit where credit is due. Which is I said that the Ethiopians of the old provinces of Gojjam, Tigray, Wollo, Begemder, Gondar and Afar region are the purest of Ethiopians since they like the similarly pure blooded Eritreans north of the Mereb formed the core of the Aksumite Empire and it's predescessor D'mt kingdom.

West eruasian genes first spread to the nile and the became diluted the further east and west it went. Hence why Somalis are darker and taller than habeshas/sudanis. It was all assisted. And instead of holding on to history, you need to travel and see how the rest of Africa is. That's when you will see that Ethiopia is not as special as you think. In fact, the rest of Africa only remembers the images of famine when talking about Ethiopia.

    Sudanese "Arab" here. Yeah we don't know what's going on either. Were an ethnic group with a real identity crisis, I don't know when I'm an arab or when I'm an African, as I don't really feel like I fit in 100% with either group, and I know many sudanese people feel the same. We're probably closer to Arabs due to the shared language and religion, however phenotypically we can extremely vary. I know people who are unmistakably without a doubt Arabs and other with much more African looking features, but then there's people like myself who have features that seem to be mixed and matched and the only people who look like myself are other sudanese arabs and some of the aforementioned habeshi people (met some ethiopians in an airport last month and they started talking to me in their language, and I was replying in arabic and english trying to tell them I don't understand but all I got was weird looks. It took them like 5 minutes to realise that I wasn't them) we're a weird pocket of admixture and we only get ourselves...well, most of the time.

    Not all Sudanese are Arab looking. I’m south Sudanese (Nilotic) and we’re all dead beat BLACK. We also tend to have thin noses as well, some of us even have thin lips while the majority have big lips. My ancestors lived in Sudan long before the Arab conquest of the north and I’m probably a descendant of the ancient Nubians/Kushite. Even the native Sudanese tribes in north Sudan are blacker than the night. Plus, Arabs came from Horn Africans

      we in the horn really don't look like whites or arab or any of those people ,we have a unique look, Arabs have big noses,ours are mostly smaller and slimmer than theirs our bodies are different, our hair is different. Our language is different.
      I think whites are seen as attractive because they resemble people from the horn.

    • @NegSteLucie

      Peace 1 No, Whites are seen as attractive because people around the world in many different cultures have internalized eurocentric ideals concerning beauty. They have fallen prey to the destructive machinery of White Supremacy.

You discussed viability of second gen offspring, like ligers and Mules, etc. Could H. Hablis, for instance, mate with a modern? How far back does a viable "chain" theoretically go?

    People generaly identify themselves with their fathers and their culture more than genitics this is how things always worked
    it makes mixing people easier, if your goal from this video is just history of mankind its okay but i dont see any positivity with taking sides sometimes.
    80% of algerians identify themselves as arabs because they are almost fully arab, remember half middle east migrated into africa to spread islam, some mixed and some not but in algeria and tunisia they outnumbered berbers and become a majority while in morocco they made about the half.
    berbers from north algeria and tunisia are fully europeans based on a french research, only touareg and morocan berbers have african/midle eastern old origins, kabyls for instance are 100% euroasians, that make arabs more african than them if you want to speak genitics, but as i say humans always prefered the parental belonging than anything else

Trujillo of DR had a Haitian mother yet he perpetrated genocide against Haitian people. It's not just about racial ancestry, it's about mentality. Several Kkk members have been shown to have significant African ancestry yet that didn't keep them from being racist.

    Wonderful video! Wouls like to add that the latest west asian genetic migrations to the horn was during the semitisation of the Ethiopian Highlands which historians believe to have occured around 3000 thousand years ago. Migrations of Arabs, Persians and Indians happened during the middle Ages, but they usually settled in big port cities along the horn African coast and are til this day genetically and phenotypically distinct from the cushitic and habesha peoples. The cushitic phenotype isn't thus the result of west-south asian intermixing. Added to this, south cushites used to dominated other parts of East Africa, such as Kenya, and thousand years old skeletal evidence from this regions have proven that these peoples where phenotypically similiar to the cushites of today, i.e. slender and hinger nose brigdes. The west asian dna present in cushitic populations are due to back-to-Africa migrations that happened tens and thousands years ago well before the depigmentation gene and therefore the stereotyped 'white-looking' midddle eastern look was established in euroasia. Light brown skin is therefore native to the continent, seen in other populations like the khoisan, just as narrower feautures and straighter hair is natice to the continent.
    And Tuaregs and other Berbers are not ethnically or lingustically semites. Although it isn't untrue that many of the berber populations come from the thousand year old migrations of earlier euroafricanid phenotypes with higher ratio of depigmented skin that settled in the the northern most parts of North Africa and probably admixed with other phenotypes, such as the ethiopid and nilotic in Sahara regions. Imazighen peoples are indeed phenotypically and genotypically very diverse, perhaps the most diverse in the continent.

  • @jtorie1
    @jtorie1 6 років тому +6

    Sooo, these ethnic groups are more attractive than other Africans bc they have less kinky hair and lighter skin??? Try again. Angola actually holds more titles for Miss Universe when compared to other African contestants, and the Alec Weks of the world are just as well known, and probably in higher demand than less pigmented east African models. However, let it be known that women of all African ethnic groups are stunning!!!

    lol Chill on the bashing Mason for the comment about looks. It's not like he's the first person to ever say East Africans are the most beautiful people in Africa or even the world. He's been pretty clear on his channel that he feels a special affinity to mixed peoples, so him saying that he finds a group of Africans that have some outside admixture to be the most attractive isn't that crazy. Yes, West Africans are beautiful too, but that doesn't mean ya'll should be catching feelings because one guy expressed his preference for the looks of the East Africans.
    That said, Mason, I like your vids. You'd do well to stay away from comments like that. Stick to the facts. Those are what make your videos so good.
