I discovered that Ektar is magic on 'ethnic' skintones, which is probably why the stock got so much hate/still does. Most people use it on caucasian skin which makes the skintones more red which is unflattering, that's where a lot of the hate for this stock comes from. But brown skin has a lot of red so this has been my secret weapon when shooting people of colour.
@@ivanyarovoy7985 I agree, just shot a roll of pro400h and wow was I blowed away by the colours of the brown skintone. It just popped! Same it's been discontinued :(
I love living vicariously through your medium format adventures. I love the Ektar feel. Every picture looks like you can just jump into the frame and hang around for a while. The textures on the color from all that juicy sat, I can never get enough. I shoot on Fuji mirrorless bodies and I always add my Ektar recipes before doing anything in the settings.
Lovely work. Ektar has the ability to map out extremes of chroma over an immense dynamic range, it can handle any kind of lighting imaginable. Such a pleasure watching you behind the camera.
Ektar 100 is amazing. It's great for specific situations but more flexible than what ppl think. I use it for landscapes/still life or portraits with darker skin tones. For lighter skin tones, I use it with on-camera flash - I find direct flash balances out the skin tones. My go-to combo is Ektar 100 and a Olympus Stylus on 35mm. Half the rolls I shoot on medium format for landscapes are Ektar!
Finally! Thank you. It's the only vibrant Kodak stock with a balance that doesn't come out warm green tint. It's hard to use because desaturated warm green tone is super forgiving, so you have to train your eye to the next level to use it well.
Literally have my first roll of Ektar loaded in my ae-1 while I'm on vacation right now. Very cool to see this video come up. Can't wait to see how this roll turns out.
Old cars aren't just more aesthetically pleasing because they're old and it's nostalgia speaking to us. They were always more aesthetically pleasing, even when new. Your photos and the older cars compliment each other very well.
as someone who's into both photography and fitted hats, im really glad you mentioned your crown cause i been noticing some dope fitteds you rockin in your vids
What size are the photos to your left on the wall in the office? A video on the photos you decided to print big and hang would be interesting(for me at least). Love the content as usual ✊🏾
I've always loved Ektar. It was the first roll of medium format I ever shot. Definitely one of my favorites. At night although it makes for a little longer exposure time it fucking slaps at night!
Once Agfa discontinued Ultracolor 100, I switched to Ektar. Great film for scenic, landscapes, transportation subjects (trains, ships, etc.), city skylines.
My only gripe with Ektar is that it's hard to shoot during golden hour with it without a tripod. Love the saturation you get from it and adore it on 120, can't really get on with it on 35mm
ektar 100 for me always shows up with more vibrant colors and deeper blacks but for some reason always slightly too magenta toned. Nothing that cant be fixed
I didnt know that Kodak Ektar is underrated. I love this film, it has so nice, vivid colors, no grain and high dynamic range. Personally i think Portra is too overrated. It looks more like digital sensor than color negative film.
cant decide if Ektar is ACTUALLY good or if your photos are just amazing
Smooth af
🤣 if it wasn’t for Ektar They would’ve all been trash!
This the cutest comment I ever seen
Both, both is good.
Second one.

this is insightful af
Facts. It looks fire on people with brown skin. Portra 800 is also quite good at shooting people with darker skin tones.
Fuji Pro 400H used to be good for that too
@@diegoborrajo1323i double it. Fuji fits more when it comes to shooting not-caucasian people.
@@ivanyarovoy7985 I agree, just shot a roll of pro400h and wow was I blowed away by the colours of the brown skintone. It just popped! Same it's been discontinued :(

Facts
Ektar works perfect with darker skin tones for portraits.
My only gripe with Ektar is that it's hard to shoot during golden hour with it without a tripod. Love the saturation you get from it and adore it on 120, can't really get on with it on 35mm
You inspire me.

I been shooting ektar since 2015 on 35mm and I love it.

Man I love the fine grain in the video...
Stuck some in an eos600 i picked up the other say. Risky test roll, but that's the fun of it I guess.
Love the saturated colors of Ektar 100. Cool video man, If you ever come to Florida let me know I'll be happy to help you with anything.
Those shots were sick
Heading to the Dominican in a couple weeks, I'm loaded up on Ektar. Kick-ass video once again.
