couldnt be happier to finally have a 35mm camera so I can shoot endless amounts of kodak gold! I love this film stock
#fujifilm #fuji #film #filmphotography #Mediumformat #mamiyarz67 #rollei35 #filmcamera #photography #fujix100v #nightphotography #pentax67 #hasselblad #hasselbladx1dii #fuji #fujiinstax #polaroid #SUPER8 #kodak #super8film
I need gold in 120 NOW!
Ultramax also plz
@Kodak ehem when?
Really shit
@@tataferarom You can get it as Lomo 400 I think. Lomo 800 is definitely the discontinued Ultramax 800 stuff.
Do you use the promist on the Leica?
"Sometimes 36 be too much, ngl"
Underrated opinion. Just like you said, so often find myself with 10-15 frames left on a 36 roll. I love shooting with my Bronica ETRSi for that reason - 15 frames is just right, and if I need 30 I can pop in another roll.
That is one of the reasons way bulk rolling b&w film works for me: I can make 12-15 frames rolls.
@@steriomaI like this idea but I'd rather cram shots onto a roll to keep my development costs low
i dont understand.. why not shoot your 10-15. put your camera away and shoot the rest another day?
That shot when the sun came out... literally glowing! It literally wrapped around her! So damn good!
Kodak Gold looks like my childhood, what my parents shot in their SLRs and in point & shoots back when I was a small child in the late 90s.
same. I see that as gucci
Exactly that!
You hit the nail on the head there…that’s exactly what I love about it.
Kodak Gold's price is about to go up since Vuh gave them his blessing
Shhhhh
It's already 5/7 euros per roll here in the Netherlands
@@techtt6213 5-7 euros r normal tho...
@@techtt6213 5-7? Where do you buy it, cus cheapest I can find it for is 8 and up
@@techtt6213 Holy. Here in Germany it costs arround 3,5€ per roll if you buy a pack of 3
I normally shoot Ultramax just because of that extra ISO coverage and availability at drug stores around me, but the real question is when will Kodak bring back Gold Max 800? Need Gold with that extra speed.
Just shoot lomography 800! It’s speculated that lomo800 is just kodakgold800 rebranded
@@debalways The problem with Lomo 800 is just that it's too expensive. When you can pick up a 3 pack of UltraMax for 15 and then push it for the speed vs the 3 pack of Lomo 800 for 35. It just doesn't make sense. Unless I'm trying to shoot at 1600 or something then hell yeah thank you based Lomography.
idk what it is, i love gold but have never gotten good results from ultramax
I recently bought a few waterproof disposable cameras at with a mystery Kodak 800 film at Walmart. I went to Kodak’s website to see if I could find some answers, and lo and behold, it’s Ultramax 800!
Here’s where they mention it: imaging.kodakalaris.com/photographers/film/single-use-cameras
Also, I found the technical publication for Ultramax 800: 125px.com/docs/film/kodak/E7024-Ultra_Max_800.pdf
One cool thing about this Ultramax is that the print grain index for 135 in a 4x6 is 48, which is the same print grain index of Portra 800. Normally, consumer films have higher grain than their pro counterparts like Ultramax 400 vs Portra 400 or Gold 200 vs Portra 160.
Yeah, it’s a bummer that you can’t actually buy the film by itself, but if you score a good deal and buy them at $5 each then it becomes a great deal. I got 9 rolls ready to be used for $45. A 5-pack of Portra 800 will set you back at least $55, so it’s at least cheaper to buy the disposable and retrieve the film yourself. Plus, not a whole to of people shoot this film, so it’s kind of unique for now.
just push gold 200 to 800!! done it plenty of times and looks great
I like learning things myself! It's why I have so many hobbies. Looks like you're in Detroit. If you ever make the trip an hour south to Toledo hit me up for a collab. I've been getting back into film photography lately and have a lot to learn and re-learn.
Y’all been sleeping on Kodak Gold 200. I legit use this film stock for my campaign shoots!!!
That gold looks 🔥🔥 bro
This is an amazing video
old boy in the back was really trying to get that shot, hope he got it.
I would love to see Color Plus 200 in medium format 🎞✨
Love these shots!!
Back in the day ('70's) I only shot Kodak film 200. Love the reds whereas Ektachrome had green overtones.
I liked changing ISO for B&W to 200 from 400 for richer blacks.
You're making me get closer to film again 😊
Particularity of Gold is the more you underexpose it the more it has that sepia/golden look, overexposed it just looks natural almost like portra without the green shadows
I swear by UltraMax 400 but Gold just has that feel
Hard same. Would love both of them in 120.
Oh man I do love UMax, but Gold in 120 would be righteous! I have to say though, I’ve been extremely pleased with the results I’ve gotten from ColorPlus!
@@desertmav8632 not to mention, we have lomo 400 in 120 which looks pretty dang close to Ultramax. Definitely priority on Gold!
Just bought a box of Gold cause I couldn't afford Portra yesterday. The timing of this video is crazy!
I feel it
Lmao I'm here because of the same reason.
At the end of a 36 frame roll I be taking pictures of my dog 😂
Wow! I love the color grading in this video, the warmth and saturation. My childhood was shot on Kodak Gold 200 and to a lesser extent Max 400 and 800. I still have rolls of way expired 200 in the fridge my mom and dad bought in the early 2000s.
Lab can correct color balance to a point. After many years the dyes start to shift.
Vuhlandes: Kodak Gold is Kodak's cheapest film stock
*ColorPlus has entered the chat*
Homie going off with the Leica AND the Bolex! I personally love shooting with Kodak's "lower end" film stocks on my channel. I can't tell you how many of my favorite photos have been shot on Kodak Ultramax that I got at Walgreens bc I needed more film at that moment.
always love the way these videos are edited
Pistons got the #1 draft pick, Vuhlandes uploaded, today is a good day in the D
Gold 200 was what my mom used to shoot back in the day. All those colors take me back. I’ve been using the Kodak Gold 200 recipe for FUJI FILM from FujiXWeekly and it’s decently close. It’s my go to.
I have been using Kodak Gold 200 the most, especially in my point and shoot for family photos. Best results. I kinda like also how Pro Image 100 delivers.
That model is something else dawg
ong
Glad to know I'm not the only one who likes this film. I can get 3 rolls for $13 at Bartell's.
Bro was on point when he was like,” Ima take a picture of my keyboard.”
I do the same thing🤣
Yooooo that bolex tho 🥺 can’t wait to see the footage
Just tried out my first roll of Gold after being motivated by you to do so..... Very impressive! I also tried out colour plus 200 which is also great, but Gold has that old school look (like you said... it LOOKS like film) which I really like. Perfect saturation and colours too. I do love Portra, but I think Gold could be a great option for some spring/summer projects I have planned if my typically non-existent budget won't stretch to the pro stocks. Definitely learned a lot, both from you and shooting my first roll. Cheers, peace and health from Wales, UK
I don't think I hit the play button for anything as fast as I hit it for new Vuhlandes vids. Great stuff my brother much love from East Tennessee👊🏼
Love the growth on this channel
It doesn’t matter how many other film stocks I shoot and how gorgeous their grain/microtones/colors are, I always go slinking back to Gold 200. It’s the film stock I got my start on, and it’ll always be my first love, the reliable one that I can always count on to be there and perform exactly the way I want it to.
Watching that leica spin at 3:25 made me shit my pants bro my god
I damn near choked on my mac and cheese... My broke ass babying a $20 yashica while this guy is swinging a Leica around like it's a disposable
I'm a History teacher AND Photography teacher. Dream job. I show your work all the time!
"You know the vibes, yes sir!" - Vuh
Vuhlandes always has the most beautiful models I swear 😍
Gold & Ultramax are a fantastic go-to with a unique color pallet all it's own. Been my favorite for 20 years. Awesome work as always, Vuhlandes.
I really want them to make the 120 stock now but in the mean time I’ve been shooting with my Nikon F4S w/ some EKTAR 100 and I love it
Finally someone said it! Been shooting Kodak gold & Kodak color for years now. 1st because I'm cheap and second because I prefer the look over Portra, I understand 100% what you're saying, Portra is too perfect for me. And Yes gold in 120 NOW please!
Everything about this video is gold! Loved it! 😊 Such a pretty model. 🖤
Perfectly agree. Shot it a lot int he 80's, miss 120 and love its colors - much more than most of the "pro" films from the Portra line. There was 12, 24 and 36 versions. I don't know why today there's only 35. That's a lot in my opinion. 24 is a better size. Thanks for the video, nice shots!
This is dope man
Your videos are so inspirational dude 👏❤
Agreed! I always have enjoyed how the Gold looks in comparison to Portra
Even though I know it's coming, I'm never mentally ready for the camera nunchuck swing 😂
Highly underrated film stock! Should do a video on Colorplus 🤙🏾
Your photos are magic
36 is totally too much some times LOL. I did a weekend race event and brought 2 rolls of gold 200. Only shot about 50 photos on film. I have like half a shot roll in my MX and have no idea what to do with the remaining film lol
Love the video quality, what camera are you using for filming Vuh?
I'm more a Kodachrome 25 guy, and the Kodak Gold is like the antithesis to it, so I don't like it that much. But it is in fact the cheapest 35mm film available in my country by a significant margin, so I use it to test new additions to my camera collection with it, if I manage to repair them successfully. For that cause its simply perfect. I don't like the colors at all, but its quite sharp and reliable and I quickly can identify light leaks or faulty shutters or defective rangefinders. I think its somewhat strange though, that there is no b/w film around cheaper than this color film. It used to be just the other way around in the old days.
Bro what’s that shirt when you was out shooting that shirt was sick
What's the name of the song at 5:10 ? Great video as always
Gregory David - Olive Branch
So happy I picked some Kodak 200 Gold a few days ago. Great video!
Vuh never misses
Do you have any suggestions on a color stock for perfect black and brown skin?
great video my dude
I use a light blue tint filter for gold indoors, and Gold just work great with brown skin tone, stocked up on it after my first roll
lol! admire you heavy, constantly inspiring me to keep going 💚
I agree with the 24 shots being cool but then you pay the same price as 36 shots would cost when you get dev/scans😩
You're seriously underrated bro
You should try Pro Image 100. It's similar to gold, but a bit toned down and different in a way. As a neat bonus, it's also more temperature resistant, so if you leave it in a hot car by accident it will probably be fine.
You got yourself the right model!!! She looks absolutely gorgeous!!!
Great shots! Really. Did you shoot those at box speed? Or 160 (or 125)?
Correct. Porta is totally overhyped and not better IMO. I also prefer Kodak Gold as general color negative film. For landscapes, Kodak Ektar is better IMO.
I love the Gold too, it's got an old school look to it, in my opinion. That might not be the best way to describe it, but it's different from the other film stock that's out there. It tends to have a look of its own. Nice video; keep 'em coming!
S/o to the MUSE tho! She’s beautiful✨
Which camera lens and setting have you used to make this video ? Splendid !
Gold is my favorite. I love the 24 shot rolls. They are perfect for a quick session.
Lomography 200 is pretty damn close to Kodak Gold in 120 format, if not the exact same thing.
true
At least in latinamerica, kodak gold or kodacolor its not the cheapest film stock from kodak. The Kodak ProImage 100 is the cheapest film arround here. and it is AWESOME. love your videos, greetings from buenos aires
bro what is the BTS cam setup??? this shit looks beautiful 😭💯
Just shot three rolls of it on a roadtrip through Arizona/Nevada. Loved the results, still a bigger fan of colorplus 200 though. Definitely will shoot more of it though
Hey, you don't have to load it like that, just put the film in as shown on the picture, close it and shoot ;) No need to wind nor fiddle with how it's aligned. Once closed it will align correctly. Great shots!
Beautiful video. Love Kodak gold thanks for making this. Do you shoot it at 100 ISO?
Amazing video bro ! kodak GOLD IS GOLD !! btw what exact super 8 camera and film stock did you use for the film/video sequences? much thanks in advance !
Lomography 100 appears to kodak gold the top and the bottom of the sheet instead of the center of the sheet
super ethereal shots
They make 35mm adapters for 120 cameras. It basically turns any 120 camera into a panoramic thats not full frame across three exposures of 35mm film. Not that useful but something to mess around with. You can find adapters for like $10 on ebay.
I definitely agree that a 24 shot roll suits me better, I just wish it wasn't the same cost as a 36 when you get it developed.
That post Notification bell be clutch 👏🏾
Who tf are these 47 people who disliked this… this shit was GOLD
these look stunning!!
Have you tried Kodak pro image 35mm? It says Kodak professional as well! I like the tones it’s like a little more muted Kodak gold. Love the video!
love this video 🧡
I get the point.
But the best is undeniably Kodak Vision cine film. A hole other world. Perfect tones, flexible for color grading, very, very forgiving with exposition, pushing or pulling.
The definite film. But needs the ecn2 process, which is now very accessible with bellini chemicals
Dang.... those colors!
Solid work as always bro! I need that gold 120 in my life lol
Really enjoyed this video, especially with 120 GOLD now available! No need to sell a kidney, bro! 🤣
new Vuhhh lets gooo
Love the beginning scenes. Shit made me feel so good for some reason
"If you're a broke MF like me" made me die of laughter! did not expect that
When the ColorPlus vid comin tho 😳😳
I have been using Kodak gold for more than a few decades. It really works well with the gold and off green of the forest and sunsets of Cape Cod. Perfect for the golden hour.
Went out to restock. Got kodak gold 35 and portra 120. Got home and only then I realised I didn’t even consider portra in 35mm and probably wouldn’t even consider it in 120 if I could choose.
Moment was selling Kodak Gold for 12.99. I checked it out the other day and almost bought some. Watched this video today and went back to moments site.... Now its back ordered! Due to this video, no doubt.
looks good man
Lovely photos! They turned out really well. M6 and Gold..good to see new things and not always Portra lol. Subscriber earned! Right now, my fave everyday colour film stock is UltraMax. Subscriber earned!
For a second then I thought you meant you were in Birmingham U.K…the REAL BIRMZ!!
What a beautiful model.
Try Pro image 100 from kodak if you can get your hands on some... Even pushed to 200 it looks great! Nice video!!
