    Thank you so mush. Had my MoJo surf rod and Stradic 4000FG go down into the surf, just one outgoing wave but had to break it all the way down. If I was twenty years younger I could have caught it before going in. With your help I was able to break it all the way down and back together. FYI I tried using Dawn Powerwash dish spray it's a foaming cleaner that worked well on the grease with the inbedid sand in it. Cleaned bearings and drag washers with clean rags. Thanks again!

      Lol @ the 20 years younger comment. Funny how these things we take for granted just slip away as we get older. Glad to hear the video helped you get all the way through your reel, and back up and running. Thanks for the Powerwash tip.... I like using Dawn with water in the ultrasonic cleaner, and then a round of just water to cleanse anything leftover detergent. Spread the word about the channel.

    Can you tell me where you get the bearings to replace the ones that were bad in your reel? Thanks for posting this video, I really enjoyed it, and it helped me with my Stradic that I've had for 20 years.

    Great Video. I've got an older Stradic (light blue, fluid drive). But the model number is worn off so I dont know which model I have. Is there a way to tell based on the serial number, or some other way?

    Excellent video, it has helped me to locate the position of a washer (18:31) that was not on the instruction sheet, do you know the reason why a drive gear bushing made of plastic has been used, instead of a bearing?

    • @TSGReelService
      @TSGReelService  Рік тому

      Thanks for watching and glad to hear it helped you. Regarding the bushing question, I think this was just a norm back then. Bushings aren't as bad as people think they are... They're rarely, if ever, corrode inside the real and lock it up, and it's been almost as good as a bearing. The only problem comes from when they get worn, but you can just change them out at that point. You can also replace that bushing with a bearing if you take the measurements and then match the size up.

      @@TSGReelService Thank you for your answer, that is my problem, the bushing shows some wear, I am going to replace it with a quality bearing. Greetings from Galicia, Spain

      I want to say around 2001-2002 and I remember paying $159 or so for a combo at BPS with one of their extreme rods. The reel itself was around $120 if i recall correctly. I still have them and once in a while I buy beat up ones on eBay to keep a parts stock.

    I sure hope you monitor your comments. I need help with my Shimano Stradic 4000fg and don't know how to contact you other than this. i took off the cover of the bail trip lever on a Shimano stradic 4000fg just trying to clean the reel and the bail trip lever fell out. I reinserted it but when I did it won't work correctly now. Can you please tell me how to insert it correctly? I can't believe i messed up my reel like this. I literally took the entire reel apart and replaced bearing and cleaned it as usual with no problems but I've never taken this cover off (wish I wouldn't have) now I can't figure out how that bail trip lever back in correctly. I thought it just sjid right back in but Im not doing something correctly. Help lol.

      @@TSGReelService Well I studied the schematic and I have figured out why it won't just slide back in. It seems the RD 4654 lever spring guide A and the 4653 spring popped out and I cannot find them anywhere. I have searched my table, and been on my hands and knees for hours and just can't find them. I searched google to see if I could buy one and can't find them either. :( I am afraid I have ruined my stradic. Man I should have just left that part alone. I was just cleaning and getting ready for spring, I haven't been able to go in a long while because of health. (happens when you get in your 60's lol) I was following your video for the 3rd time lol it helps people like me so much, but then I thought I would open it because it sounded funny in there and I guess thats why, it had popped lose and I didn't know it.
      If you have any idea where I could get those two parts I sure would appreciate the help. I see on the schematic how it slides back together to shut the bail. I'm at a loss. And you have no idea how much I appreciate you replying. I'm going to get back on my hands and knees and search again but that little spring could have popped a long way since I didn't even realize it came out. :( thank you again for you help. If you have any idea where to get those two parts I would sure appreciate help with that. I'm just rambling now. Thank you sir. Have a blessed day.
