I use a Tork driver W/inch pound to set all screws for even setting for the plates and discs in order to make even pressures on all those parts...just my OCD. LOL Thanks for your youtube instructions, they are very helpful. (Off the hook rod and Reel) Joe.
Hey Fiore! I like the idea, especially for drag plates. I'm sure hand tightening wouldn't be too far off, but it's always good to be exacting. By the way, I tried the 3M pads you suggested. I got the finest one, but felt like the steel does a better job of getting rid of the anomalies and was more gentle on the finish. I had high hopes for it, too.... those fine hairs that fall off the steel wool bother me. I have a 9/0 that's been sitting around for the past 2 years because I want to use it for a restoration video... will probably give it another shot, along with a comparison and my opinion of the two products.
Very detailed video. I recently bought one of these used. Excellent condition but it didn't come with the manual. By chance do you have the Reel Specs? I want to spool it with braid but not sure braid specs and quantity the reel will hold. Thank you.
Thanks for checking out the video. I don't, but I can tell you it'll hold well over 1,000 yards of 80lb braid, based on the specs for the Tiagra 50W.... way more than you'll probably ever need. The setup of both reels are very similar. You may be able to find the specs if you do an online search.
Hi, I've just bought one of these too. What is the other smaller lever by the handle? There's the lever drag and the drag preset knob, but what's the other one? Thanks
@@philproud7254 Thanks Phil. I don't remember.... probably from Shimano? I have/had a bunch of them. You can probably get one from eBay. Try searching on there for TLD0230. It'll fit a lot of the Shimano conventionals. Barry

@@TSGReelService I'm sorry to hear that the 3M pads did not work. Were they white pads? If you can not find them I will send some for you to try.
