Technology is ever-present in our filmmaking pipeline, including in very early development phases. Technologists create tools which our artists use to convey their ideas, like StoryPad and other story art tools, including use of experimental realtime technologies. While we partner with external vendors and our sister studios to find solutions that help artists build worlds and tell stories, we often build or customize products in-house in order to best serve our unique needs.

Layout is a central component of the storytelling process. Working from storyboards, Layout Artists use a film’s characters, sets, props and cameras to stage, block, and shoot the film, shot by shot.
Cinematography, staging, and rough character animation are key elements of a Layout Artist’s skill set. Additionally, layout involves a bit of animation, lighting, editing, modeling, and a lot of composition and good use of camera for a clear narrative.
Layout Artists can follow what is indicated in the storyboards, but sometimes break away from it entirely and come up with their own beats and ideas, making it a very creative endeavor.

Animators breathe life into the performances, creating entertaining and emotionally-driven characters with a variety of believable personalities.

Creating effects like reflective surfaces, glowing elements, and dramatic rays, Lighting Artists are an integral part of our storytelling process, using their keen eye to manipulate color and light to emphasize shifts of tone, mood and atmosphere, both subtle and dynamic.

@@SimplyTypicalMe I’m no animator, but for the most part I believe it’s computer animated. You can download physics packs for things like clothes and hair so that the computer animated them automatically. That being said, that may not be the case in certain scenes for a more cartoony effect!

I recently thought of an idea. I know this is weird but I’ll say it anyway because I wouldn’t be able to do it with time travel. If I had reality-warping powers, I would erase the Croods characters except Ugga, the Disney dinosaur movie but I would use the deadly meteor shower scene it for my movie, and erase the movie Encanto from existence but I would use the three sisters from Encanto and make them cave girls and make a new movie called Disney Pixar cave people. I would combine the animations of the Disney dinosaur, the Croods, and Encanto. It would have the locations from Disney Dinosaur and the Croods in it and it would be 3 hours and 50 minutes long and make it a musical. It would even have action and adventure in it too. It would have the dinosaurs from Disney dinosaur (only bigger) and more dinosaurs that we didn’t see in Disney dinosaur that can talk in it and the creatures from the croods. Also In this movie, cave people can talk to the plant-eating dinosaurs and they jump high, swing on vines, and climb trees like the lemurs in Disney dinosaur. The meat eater dinosaurs wouldn’t talk in this movie like they did in the Disney dinosaur movie. There would be more locations in this movie than there was in the Disney dinosaur or the croods movie. The character Aladar would still exist but he wouldn’t be the main character in the movie. The main characters are cave people who live in a cave on an island that looks similar to Lemur island from Disney dinosaur only bigger. There is a mother and a father who have three daughters who look exactly like the daughters from Encanto except for the cavewoman who looks like Mirabel doesn’t have glasses and she has a daughter of her own named Suri who is 4 years old and who looks like a female version of Disney's Tarzan when he was a child and she loves to swing on vines. The cavewoman who looks like Mirabel would also have two younger sisters who strongly resemble Luisa and Isabela. The cavewoman who strongly resembles Luisa is the youngest of the three and is very strong and tall but not as tall and strong as her father and she has a close relationship with her niece Suri and always tries to be there for her niece. The cave sisters would have a grandmother who strongly resembles the grandmother from Encanto and three aunts and uncles. Ugga from the Croods would be the mother of those three cave girls. The movie would be about a family cave people who are trying to find a new home after their island home is destroyed by a deadly meteor shower. They will have to travel far and face many dangers that lie ahead of them. For example, Carnotaurs, T-rexes teratacly, pterodactyls water meat-eater dinosaurs, raptors, and spinosaurus. Even Earthquakes. There would be a scene where the cavewoman who looks exactly Luisa sings a prehistoric version of the song the lion sleeps tonight with her niece Suri while riding on Aladar just to be funny. It would be called the T-Rex sleeps tonight. I would use my reality warping powers to have this movie released in 2023. What computers and workstation is used at Disney Animation Studios? I’m a junior interested on animating characters, 3D and traditional, and my biggest dream is to end up working there in Burbank in the future. Also, I’d like to know what Wacom models are used. What’s the best workstation for an animator in Burbank?
no offense but if i worked on the early creepy stage i would get nightmares but they are so talented imagine just animating a song.
