New Remastered/Upgraded Extended Superman IV Volcano Sequence

- Here it is, the new updated remastered version of my Superman IV Volcano sequence... I've done quite some adjustments to this sequence and adding new elements as well...
I won't be releasing a full release blu-ray unofficially at the moment due to distribution reasons and copyright releasing it full length and I'd have to redo a lot of the old stuff in 4K hard work for essentially no money. Also it would be more an upgraded version of the theatrical cut, as all the deleted footage hasn't correctly been released in a useable print to make a full cut of the film.
List of things added or changed....
Superman model can be seen exploding out of ice
Earth shot replaced with more realistic Earth and now rotating in the correct direction.
The poorly compositedNuclear Man miniature figure in original has been replaced with a new model.
Sky replacement shots to fix the continuity in the scenes.
Volcanic lightning added to the eruption
Fixed the clear gel which should have been lit as the lava flowed down the street, replaced with hot glowing lava overlay.
Falling volcanic ash falling in the scene
Updated the red lava flowing down the volcano with a more hotter orange, with animating noise layer to give it as sense of movement a bit.
New sequence of Superman flying into the volcano and draining volcano to release the pressure.
Superman Superspeed the Volcanic ash cloud back into the volcano.
New heat vision beams, and new shot of Superman carrying mountain piece.
Improved lava flow near trapped villagers and extended it from falling down with added glow.
Superman has new ice breath vfx, Superman cools and freezes the ground.
New flying shot of Superman flying away from village.
If Warner Archive ever decide to release the 130-minute workprint of Superman IV, you should DEFINITELY be hired to restore the footage and fix the special effects, because this is nothing short of INCREDIBLE! 👏
They really should release the work print already - or at least the initial screening. They’ve already released a few very rare things so this shouldn’t be any different.

In tribute to Christopher Reeve. Warner Bros should release the 130 minute cut of this film. They should hire you mate to do the visual affects 😊. Why don't you send your superman 4 videos to them? 😊

Somebody needs to see if theres anything in those Warner vaults. Rumor has it, most of the extra material was destroyed after the first viewing of the extended version.
Your work on this movie proves how changing and tweaking even the smallest things makes it look so much better

I just love how on the remaster that you made heat vision looks like heat vision and freeze breath looks like freeze breath and the snow on top of the frozen lava is just a nice touch.
There is a greater story in lost in the edit of superman IV. The take over of the Daily Planet, Superman feeling that he cannot infer yet worries about nuclear destruction, especially seeing as he saw a fraction of this in Superman The Movie. I applaud your efforts!
Really liked the improved effect on the lava streaming through the town and Supes cold breath.The enhanced audio was an improvement as well.
Magnificent and totally seamless. I also love the colour correction on the suit, especially the last shot of him flying in space.

The full vision that Chris had for this movie should be brought forth! I mean the scenes in Smallville by his parents Graves could've been the heart along with his sickness of radiation.

Damn, nice work. If our project takes off & goes viral, we'll pay for you to finish the job. Always had a soft spot for Superman IV as it was the first film I was allowed as a child to see by myself. Had the novelization too that included all the deleted scenes & made much more sense
The work you’re doing for Superman IV is, to put it simply, amazing. Almost looks as if it was a brand new movie if Cannon didn’t cut its budget and sometime went bankrupt and IMO should’ve been the true version of this movie.

I can't speak for @APRICEPRODUCTION but, the only widescreen version available for the tornado scene is from the Japanese laserdisc. And, the image quality is not in HD.

Hey, if Superman can fly into the San Andreas fault line, then lift it up back up, he can definitely burrow into an active volcano, dig several tunnels to make the lava sink, rapidly fly around the smoke to dissipate it, cut off the top of a nearby mountain with his eye-laser beams, then carry the mountain top and use it to plug up the volcano, then use his super-breath to turn the village’s lava flow into ice!!

Serious question. Are you and these edits actually on WBs radar because if this was Disney they would have probably offered you a job by now. Keep it up mate. If you ever need to crowd fund I will definitely pledge.
From a couple of sources I've been told WB have been aware and supposedly seen some of these edits and liked them.... But until I hear something from them personally I'll take it with a pinch a salt.... thanks bud!

It wasn't the lack of special effects people that was the problem, it was Cannon gutting the $37m budget they'd been given by Warner Bros. Golan & Globus were unethical cowboys who diverted $20m into multiple other films they were churning out, leaving only $17m. Back in the 80s, $37m was actually enough to make a big blockbuster. But no one can make a Superman movie with $17m. The VFX people did the best they could with what they had but it was an impossible task. It's like trying to build a Rolls-Royce using parts from a Fisher Price toy car.

This movie was so bad that I could never sit thru much of it. It's _Jaws:_ _The Revenge_ bad. It makes _Superman III_ look like a masterpiece..
You are more artist than Menahem Golan and Yoran Globus. If someday I win the lottery I will buy for you the right of restore Superman IV, I have seen all the Christopher Reeve movies on cinemas and I felt torn in the summer of 1987😞. Great job👍👏🤞

This upgrade alone is better than the entirety of Batman vs Superman.
Anything is better than Snyder's schlock trilogy. Even Superman IV in it's original form.

Love this movie. I think it's the best christopher Reeve superman film no matter what people say.
Absolutely phenomenal work as usual. But I just can’t stand how the volcano the smoke, and the lava looks. I wish there was a way you could erase all of that and fill in exactly what you want. Cannon was just such garbage. Bravo your work is simply fantastic!
I like that you kept some of the Original Effects. The SFX from this movie do have a bad reputation and much of it is deserved, like the compositing and bluescreen work, but I find the Matte Paintings and Miniatures to be quite good, actually.
Harrison Ellenshaw worked on the Original Star Wars-Trilogy, Black Hole and Tron, he clearly is no amateur... on this flick I think he was just held back by too little time and too little money.

Great stuff. Hope you tackle the rebuilding the wall of China sequence, which was originally supposed to be Superman rebuilding it at super speed rather than him using his "brick and morter vision"
