@@ianferrier235 Gotcha, there are a lot of upgrades for these things that make them really perform. Let me know if you have any questions on it, most likely been through it haha.
Great riding boys! Blane nice to see the old 690 on the trails. Very reminiscent of Grant and I riding a lot of those trails on our 990, 690 Adventures! He does run an E09 on the back though.....
Hey thanks for watching, definitely have to get out on a ride this summer. What are you riding these days? You would have been proud of that 690 that day. Blaine did awesome!
Great to see some 990r footage, have had one for years now. Not 525lbs though, mine with single exhaust etc comes in close to 490. Still heavy though haha.
@@j-moto1215 Just had a great weekend on it. I am selling it though as I do move to more lighweight adventure riding, but they are such an amazing machine, i'll miss it!
@@j-moto1215 I don’t think the 790 is a better bike. It’s more modern if you like electronic gizmos and maybe little more nibble. I didn’t like the engine and the tank is super wide. I’m actually disappointed that KTM couldn’t do a better bike considering that the 950/990 is a almost 20 year old construction by now.
Good tip, he’s a good rider but guess he prefers to sit. I didn’t even attempt it on the 990 because it was so loose. Sand and baby heads haha not a good combo
Looks like a good time guys, I just picked up a 2013 990 baja, looking forward to riding I haven't even tested it yet 😔
You are going to love it, hopefully it's got all the goodies
@@j-moto1215 basically it's a stock baja,crash bars,etc.on street tires.so I think it was mostly a highway queen. Low km.time for the mods.

@@j-moto1215 2015 KTM 690 with the RR fairing and tank kit. Yes we must get a ride in this summer!
Nice riding considering the size of the bike and video editing 👍🏻
Thanks pal
A real workout. Beautiful country.

Mine has the AUX tank so I think it’s something close to that. Awesome bikes though!! You still ride yours much?

@@Bra3167 from what I’ve heard the 790 and 890 are miles ahead of it. Kindof toying with the idea of upgrading myself.
@@j-moto1215 agree, quite interested in those. I love the newer 690's too.

Some really tough sections! Good work! Where is this?
Looks like the Whipshaw in parts.
@@richardmazur8489 It's off the Hurley FSR, yeah I agree it does resemble the whipsaw in parts. Did that one this summer :)
How do the bikes compare on the hwy? Is the 990 a lot more comfortable at speed
Yes, it's good on the street, feels pretty stable even with 50/50 tires.
Your mate needs to get up on the pegs more on that 690 , he should be able to tackle pretty much any climb on that thing, no body armour?

I love 990ADV & BDCW parts!
Excellent
Gearing is everything.
You’re right!! I went 1 down in the front from stock and it’s worked well. Could try +2 on the back and see if it makes things easier
What gearing did you run?
I dropped a tooth on the front and it helped alot with this stuff, I want to say 14T and stock on the rear
