not first. I tore a muscle in my left leg during drill inspection, kept my mouth shut I would not getting ASMOED. the only people that got caught lying in my division with those who had went to the doctors using their parents Tricare. now that shit they will find out about.
Doesn't your Tricare records become erased after you're no longer under your parents insurance? I would think that it wouldn't make sense for them to keep records for someone no longer under the Tricare system
What if whatever you had that could have disqualified you clears up? For example my friend that was in the Marine Corps was rejected initially cause he had a scab on his arm which was considered an open wound, but MEPs just told him to come back when it healed
so you told a white lie so you can serve your country ,,, its okay just relax... the navy doesnt have little secret Navy Elfs going to everyones hometown doctor getting your records. see u friday
You never had TS/SCI clearance ... the FBI hauled me out of basic during service week/fast cruise/whatever galley shit you get (line Capt!) and interrogated me for hours and hours. The Chief called me back to the "ship" and had no idea why, but he had to send me to legal. I waited there ... had to use the head ... as I'm pissing 2 MPs, a male and female officer bust in because I'm not to be left alone. Then I spoke to a LCDR who handed me to two NCIS people that drove me off base to the main A school part. Small room, old Sports Illustrated, and two-way mirror shit. At the end of the questioning, I asked one of the FBI agents how long he was in the Marine Corps ... he told me 12 years. Neither of them said anything about themselves whatsoever except their names. So, I was held for a few hours more as they tried to figure it out ... they didn't so the two NCIS people drove me back to RTC (I guess I passed). On the drive they asked me how in Hell I knew that Agent ____ was a former Marine, and that they had gotten paranoid about it - as if I had inside information: I told them that I'm not an idiot and that when you're in a small room with only two other people for 4-6 hours you notice things. Like the obvious fact that Agent ____ was wearing a USMC tie tack. I got a laugh. Seriously, though ... they interviewed my Middle School teachers, censored my mail, all kinds of stuff. I'm not hot shit or anything, but I was going into submarine electronics and computers ... and I went to basic from mid July 2002 - late Sept 2002. Right between 9/11 and Iraq. We actually finished Battle Stations and had our big post-ceremony breakfast on 9/11/02 - and Oprah was there!!! No shit. She's from Chicago, it was the one-year anniversary ... We were really tired. And dirty. This was Battle Stations in Utilities with the pants tucked into the socks and the boondocker boots .... pre-Disney upgrade with no electronics in the event except the firefighting thing. I mean wet gravel and painted plywood 2'x2' tunnels, carrying that damn 200lbs dummy in a stretcher while they observed from gangways above. I think we had a longer basic, too. Extra security training. The Navy went from 9 weeks to 13 for a while, I think. Alls I know is I had to stand Quarterdeck watch for the building (Building 4?) with a plugged barrel'd M9. Some dipshit Lt J.G. tried to get me by sneaking up behind me and seeing if he could grab the pistol out of the holster. I had no idea who it was, I just saw a hand (summer short-sleave uniforms), so I elbowed him in the face automatically. I was like "Oh, shit ..." He was screaming and bleeding from the nose ... the OOW came out ASAP. Lucky me, the OOW was a salty old W-4 who immediately had a private conversation with the Lt. Conversation meaning screaming at him about why the fuck he would ever try to reach for someone's gun for any reason at all. I got bumped from E-2 to E-3 out of basic for that. Last fun fact, kinda ... I was the Yeoman in our Div. Yeah, I was that guy. With the canvas manpurse.
what if they ask u if have ever been to the Emergency room? like lets say for example one time it was a weekend at night time so the only thing open was the ER. but the things u went to the ER for dont bother u. is it believable to say u never went to the ER?
I admitted, at MEPS, that I took MDMA in London 2 weeks before I was to ship out. I went before a USAF Major who told me I wouldn't leave in the morning if it was submitted. Then he tore the paper in half and told me to fill out a new one "correctly" this time. I left for the airport to RTC in the morning.
I talked with a dude once who told me he broke a bone in his arm when he was a teenager, he never brought it up and did 4 years in the navy and got out two years ago and had a successful career. Not telling people what they should do but you should really think about it before you just decide to go with anything and weigh the pros and cons.
JTsuits I haven't ever seen corpsman or medical people do it. We typically just ask about your medical history. We don't have the time to personally check your records from when you joined onwards.
Even if its the military, I think they aren't able to pull out your medical records because its due to HIPAA violations. Unless addressed in court, correct me if I'm wrong though. Was just a thought.
I had a history of drug addiction and enlisted in the navy because I saw my civilian life start to plummet. I didn't tell my recruiter thinking there's no record of it and sure enough when I got to MEPS during the medical interview with the doctor he saw my diagnosis. Didn't even ask me about it and was just like "you're going to need a waiver for that" I passed everything else so I was able to enlist. I got an 80 on the ASVAB so I was excited about the job opportunities. Then after just over 3 weeks my waiver cleared I went back up to pick a rate and sign the contract. The guy drawing up the contract was like "so bad news because of your drug history you don't qualify for the jobs you want (I was trying to get IT, CTR, or IS) because of the security clearance. So ultimately I picked LS and will ship out to bootcamp June 17th as an E-3 because of my college credits
I plan on joining the marines soon. I took a antidepressant for like 5 months when I was 16 (almost 19 now) for the loss of my grandfather. When I talked to the army recruiter before I decided Marines he said if it doesn’t bother me now, don’t say anything. I also told the Marine recruiter before I went to his office and he told me it’s all good and had me come in his office anyways. Will I get caught if I were to lie at MEPS??
This video was very helpful for those recruits who have minor things in their past that dont hold them back today BUT Let me say this though if youre bi-polar, have depression, if you have a psychological disorder or if you have to take medication DO NOT JOIN THE MILITARY. Im not saying this because of hate or whatever, im saying this because you can have a episode during bootcamp and it could cost you, your life. There was a recent recruit who tried to commit suicide so dont take that chance, find some other passion where it wont put you in that position and if you do have an episode in bootcamp or while in the military or you try to commit suicide then they WILL look up your past history and they will see if you entered illegally which could land you in jail and have to pay back every dollar you got from the military. Dont risk it for the biscuit kids.
yeah i should have mentioned Mental Health but definitely don't lie if you have legit Mental Illnesses that could Flare up during training., Bootcamp and Training for the Navy can be very stressful and bring the worst out of some people
Patrick Reilly yes I never thought about how many days I had left during my 9 month and 6 month cruise ,, just focused on getting to my rack and relaxing every night and also hitting port
JTsuits what about my case? I've been off my medicine for about 5-6 months (haven't needed my medication since last year just never had a doctor to take me off) if I lie to my recruiter and MEPS saying I don't take medication will I be fucked?
Patrick Reilly I'm enlisting in the Navy in September. I'm going to tell my recruiter I don't take medicine but have should I mention that to MEPS? I think he'll say no cause I'm stable, I've always been stable but like I said hardest part was I waited a year where I should've been off medicine but never had a doctor then. My doctor now is a navy captain and even gave me a letter of recommendation.
ArmyInfantry 11xray i have a friend who used to live with us, as a kid(like elementary) was bipolar but since middle school it feels like it never exsisted, ever since then its almost lile.he was never bipolar
I put myself in the hospital once for "suicidal ideations" in 2020, despite not being at all suicidal or mentally ill.... which was literally the only way I could escape my violent abuser without him finding me. He was so controlling and constantly checking my phone and beating/r*ping me daily and often threatened to kill me. If I hadn't done that, he probably would've ended up murdering me. Didn't tell the recruiter (yet...?) and have not yet gone to MEPS... Recommendations? Also I just liked and subscribed. Good content and none of that ableist crap from other sources.
Let's just say I admitted to having ADHD and now my recruiter is under investigation now EDIT UPDATE: I have to wait a full year before joining, she is no longer under investigation and still doing her job as a recruiter
@@guntheerrj you have to be off meds and no active prescription for a certain amount of time to get a waiver for the disqualification how long varies by branch apparently
Hey papi, I'm so excited, I just got done with meps literally on the way home now, my job is AV I leave August 14, and then A school at Pensacola. And found out one of my buddies I met at meps is going with me. Thank you so much JT. You made me think f joining the navy and now that I did I couldn't be happier.
Be warned fellas, I contracted Big Gay while in the Navy. Everyone tried warning me, but i took my chances anyway...In hindsight I cant believe how naive I was, but hey, you gotta roll the dice sometimes. What really sucks is the VA won't help me out even though I have 100% dicksability.
I told one recruiter about my inhaler use when i was younger. He then requested my medical records . Right then and there I left and went to another recruiter and just said I never used an inhaler cause why put yourself in a position of getting rejected for something that doesn’t affect you anymore
if you went to MEPS and signed the consent form for the military/government to access your medical records, but ended up not enlisting, can the military/government still access your medical records?
My friend went to boot camp about a month ago, panicked when she was getting yelled at and they accused her of lying about past medical history of anxiety because her dad suffers from it, they dropped the charges because she doesn't have any prior medical history for it but now she's being medically discharged
What if you went to therapy about a year ago just because i wanted help to finish school and find a job, could that disqualify you immediately? Should i keep my mouth shut?
Miriam Carr so one evaluation where nothing transpired-no further visits, no counseling, no medication-of it (which is what happened to me about 3-4 years ago), is that something i gotta worry about
Miriam Carr ok because i’m going to meps this tuesday, but i am kind of nervous because i said no when asked about that so should i clear that up with my recruiter?
@Miriam Carr you passed? Ok I have a question I because I took medicine for like 2 weeks and told my psychiatrist I wanted off and he ok'd it. I also committed myself to in patient care because I felt really bad but like the reason is because of communication issues with my parent over YEARS. I know to have all my questions answered I will have to talk to my recruiter but can you give some details???
Miriam Carr aight so I ship out in a month to MCRD got my mot ist done. The only time they ever look into your records is after you earn the title or if something happens during boot camp. So for now you don’t need to worry about MEPS. However, what I got from the mot(moment of truth) speech is that if anything happens to you like an asthma attack or something they WILL pull up your records or if you open your mouth at boot you’re fucked because it’s easier to just discharge you than to get a waiver
I was involved in drugs etc, hospitalized because of it - no criminal charges, but had been given a bipolar 2 diagnosis. I have not been on medicine in years; I have been stable, but I believe I would get DQ'd. I scored a 79/99 on prelim Asvab this week, but I did not mention bipolar disorder to the recruiters.
I have been wondering about this: If you are prior enlisted, go to the VA, get diagnosed with something like ADD/PTSD/etc., and then try to hit up the reserves...if you lie about that can they find that out?
Aaayyyyy, I'm leaving for basic in august. Gonna be doin that avionics stuff. What is your advice? You should also do a video about the differences between typical navy and squadron life.
Can you do a video on relationships with a military person? Maybe your experience with people who had someone back home and how they dealt with it? married in the military and how it affects deployments? Thank you so so so much!!!! I loooooveee your vids! Congrats on doing so well in school dawg.
I have a "friend" who is interested in joining the navy reserves but he is nervous about his bckround check. His recruiter said, after looking at his file, everything should be okay..Should he feel nervous or ashamed when they interview him on the phone or face to face? He also had elbow surgery 10 yrs ago..fully functional arm now... even had his Orthopedic surgeon sign off on his elbow for active duty RTC bootcamp.. should he feel nervous about joining? Is there a chance he will be rejected???
Pls answer this asap im getting a secret security clearance and my recruiter told me 2 lie about a deferred juvinile case that was a misdemeanor it did evolve drugs which i did get a waiver for the weed thing or at least i think. i smoked weed twice, will that shit bite me in my ass i already went 2 meps btw and told them what my recruiter told me about never getting arrested .
unamerican teen i havent graduated yet lol. From what i hear if its diagnosed the best thing to do is apply for a waiver but i heard so many stories of ppl getting their waiver denied or it taking forever to get processed. So im still unsure but i feel like lying.
I have mental health records but was never diagnosed with anything, should i be worried? my recruiter told me not to say anything? They're also tricare
S LB well I originally lied to the lady at meps but eventually told the truth. I had to go to a psych dude to tell him I’m not depressed anymore and got the waiver approved from him. Then I had to wait for the sg to approve it. Also they didn’t see my mental health records I had self harm scars that were obvious. So that’s the only reason they knew
And at basic I had to go to mental health just to do the same thing basically. But I had no problems. The process was just longer. I’ve been in almost a year now
@@MrILOVEALLHATERS That's great it worked out for you! Did you have Tricare? Also, were you prescribed any meds? I am kind of in the same situation and not sure what to do. My recruiter is telling me not to say anything. But I'm nervous they can possibly find out in Basic because I heard recruits are getting busted in training for having things on their Tricare medical records they didn't disclose, is this true? I haven't done anything yet.
I have disclosed that I have a very mild case of asthma to recruiter, and I've never had an asthma attack or anything serious. My recruiter said that I should be fine by now. I've been off medication since I was 12 and only had to receive medication once due to ashes and air quality from a giant brushfire when I was 16. I'm 21 as of now. Should be worried because of this? I'm quite healthy and capable of running up to 15 miles but I'm not so sure.
lol holy shit you can run 15 miles straight no problem ? well u only have to run 1.5 in bootcamp so I'm sure your more then fine but only you know your body
JTsuits Yeah, running is my life. Been runnin since jr high and was varsity in cross country too. Only 1.5 miles? I can do that in under 8mins no probs. I guess shouldn't worry too much.
@@westsidejam hey how did it go. My recruiter said to lie about it, but I'm scared of having an asthma problem at basic and getting a dishonorable discharge for lying. I'm commenting on my wife's UA-cam, but I really want to join the military. I haven't had a problem since late middle School, but I had a lung infection last year and had got an inhaler for it.
Meagan jaeger I’m at my first year mark and already finished my first deployment. Gas chamber was nothing to worry about, Physical training wasn’t even that hard especially running and fire fighting was tough but you carry a breathable air canister but I never had a problem. Im part of hazmat div so I breathing in shit like chemicals and paint all day lol but never have I once had any breathing problems. Basically you just have to be tough about it. I was afraid at first about lying till I found out lots of others in the navy have asthma too lol. No one has ever died or even got injured in the gas chamber if you’re worried. You just have to embrace the suck and blink a lot cause breathing was less of problem than trying to open your eyes 😂
I have a small cervical fracture( broke neck) and waiting to hear back from recruter for physical at meps my dr cleared me for high impact military training thoughts?
#askJT I just got back from the national guard. I tend to have my guard up because I don't really know whether someone is telling me the whole truth or if they're just trying to get me to sign the paper (by the way, do recruiter get paid more for each person they enlist even through they already met they're quota of 1 enlistee a month?) I told the recruiter that I'm a little hesitant (I explained my trust/commitment issue) and told him how I was interested in the navy .. so why not join the navy reserves? He said "NO DONT DO IT. They don't treat they're reserves well. Name a reserve office in this state? None. We have an army reserves and national guard office all over the state" what do u think jt? I know it's their job to recruit but when they say that they truly care about the enlistee, are they being truthful? I want to get in the medical field and since I haven't gotten any scholarships for college, I want to go ahead and join the reserves( since the reserves has lower chance of me dying) so that they can pay for me to go to college. The recruiter already locked in my medic job.
Yo JT keep on the grind man! Love your content, i hope your shirt gets released again, i was a minute too late when it was out a while ago and missed it. Love the content man - fellow Justin
As a former marine of 8 years who knows a lot of recruiters personally, if you lied to your recruiter, straight up tell him/her you lied and they will (99 times out of 100) sweep it under the rug and make sure you pass a drug test/lose weight/get a “diploma” / pass a mental screen / etc. It’s fucking shady but the chances of you getting in trouble is pretty much zero. MEPS, however, has no skin in the game if you get dropped. If you told MEPS something, you better keep telling them the same story until even YOU believe it. And 1,000 times out of 1,000, once you’re in, if you end up accidentally telling your doc the truth about your surgeries that you said you didn’t get before joining, they’re not going to see shit in the system 😂. I have a scar from where I had a melanoma cut out (told the recruiter I got stabbed), and later had eczema on my side and the military dermatologist asked me about it. I obviously forgot the whole “stabbed” thing years later and told him about the melanoma. He was like, “oh I see. Anyways here’s your eczema cream”. Never heard about it again…
Hey JT the Yellowstone volcano has had over 500 eatchquakes the past couple of days and I live right by it. So I'm going to die lolz. I just wanted to say thank for all the content and happiness you've brought me. Love you bro. LOVE YOU FAM KEEP BEING YOU LIVE LIFE WHILE YOU'VE GOT IT
K_Cameron if you have athsma don't lie, it'll screw you at boot camp when you have an asthma attack. I had a friend who did and it didn't end well for him. Find a different recruiter lol
Andreas Kalogitonas its not exercised induced asthma though, Ive been athletic for years, i only need an inhaler if i get really sick and get mucus built up in my lungs
What's up Miles Teller, lol...everybody lies to the recruiter, it's the American thing to do. In boot camp the RDC's tried to scare us, sayin that they know the recruits that lied, but they didn't. The recruits who were feelin guilty ended up puttin they self on blast, long story short, we nvr saw them again. Lol. Condolences to the family and friends of our brothers who mistakenly lost their lives. R.i.p
I have a question about lying on my application. I can't seem to find the answers to this question anywhere so I decided to ask the UA-cam community. Anyways, I was kick out of my home at the age of 18. Ever since then I've moved around about 10 times to various locations with different people. Also, I haven't done the best at keeping records of my past employment. So my question is, would it be wise to size all of this down and simplifying it to make it less complicated? Some of those people I used to live with are no longer in my life as far as friendship. I've burned those bridges long ago, so asking these people to verify my living status at that time would be awkward and most likely not possible. Basically, does the military go into depth when looking into residency and past employment? Do they run tax return records, or do they just call these places and ask? How extensive do they look into these 2 categorize? Any information would be extremely helpful. Thanks everyone.
About 5months ago I got diagnosed with severe anxiety honestly I think it was weight related I've dropped 40pounds since then Should I stay quiet??? never took meds neither
So I take my ASVAB next Friday. But I have minor asthma . I’m worried that during camp I will have an attack. What should I do? I really want to serve my country. I’m tired of asthma holding me back
I admitted to a recruiter back in high school that I smoked a little bit but now want to enlist for an MOS that requires a TS clearance. How long will my record of that be on file? Should I lie when I go back to a recruiter?
Why in bootcamp one night while in "smoker's formation," one recuirt well out having a seizure, obviously our senior DI called an on base ambulance, they came nd picked him up nd transported him to the Balboa Naval Hospital, in San Diego, CA tht was the last time we saw him, though later we were told he was only 16 years old nd had/has seizure disorder.
JT how do the locals react when you pull into a foreign port? Is it really like the movies where they know you'll be coming soon and a shit ton of people come and watch you guys unload
No I think he means can you take your meds during boot camp? It depends on what it is but if it has ANYTHING to do with ADHD or depression or something of that sort then no. Your not gonna be able to get that type of medication during boot camp, so they need to see that you can operate without it.
they only know what you tell them ,, unless you are dumb and pop on the drug test at MEPS because you didnt wait long enough for it to get out of your system ,.
JTsuits I was gonna ask the same...What about Secret or Top Clearances (Single Scope Background investigation, National Agency Check and Local Agency Check), do they check medical records during the process? If for some reason I don't disclose something at MEPS because I feel fine and later on I need medical will they check for previous conditions when I get Tricare?
I fucked up my clavicle and now it pops not to bad but it’s sometimes uncomfortable I want to join the military but think this might be an issue if they find out. Any advice
Yo JT Got a question you might have answered sometime ago not sure. This is manly for the Aircraft Carriers but anyways. On the average how does a typical day/shift go. Like You wake up, go to your work, what happens after work, free time? or something.
My Air Force recruiter told me “not to worry about my texting and driving infraction” (i payed it off less than $200) so she didn’t scan anything in the system.. they are going to ask me if I had any tickets ? I’m guessing I say no... but later when they do background checks I’m afraid it will pop up. If anyone has any advice that would be welcomed.
Da44Undahthepill0w since it’s legal, sounds like something you should say before getting in. But I wouldn’t know too much myself. Run your own background check with courts/police. Whatever shows up you must report.
If ive been expelled junior high in the 7th grade for possession of marijuana (like 2 grams),will it show up on my school records at meps?Do they even check school records at all?I have a GED and have college credits.
Hey so I had vertigo about a month ago pretty bad, went to the doctors office and all I leave for basic in a couple of months, if I have vertigo after basic or whatever will they ask me if I ever had it? If I say no will they find out?
I have a friend he's joining the Navy he's been arrested three times already but he doesn't have a felony or misdemeanor I want to know what the likelihood of him still being accepted and one of the arrest that he had there was a weapon involved but no one was harmed or and no one use the weapon?
I've been thinking about joining for about three months now and I think I'm ready to move forward, but fear some things might hold me back. 1. I'm a former all American wrestler so I would say I'm in good shape and can lose weight fast, but currently I am 235 at 5'8. Is that a problem when seeing a recruiter or should I show in good shape? 2. I've had 2 ACL surgeries due to wrestling. I am able to life and run good now I but will they be tough in pre screening? 3. Does my piss need to be clean when seeing a recruiter for the first time? I smoke a lot, but have no problem quitting as soon as possible. I want to serve my country and I don't want to do a half ass job. I want to go as far as I can in the navy so any help or tips would help. Thank you and keep on making the videos 👌🏽
Can you give me a description of the red/green color blind test? What it’s like how the set up is etc do they change the test a lot & what’s your advice for someone who has a mild red/green color blindness can you still pass or no? Or can you find a way to cheat 👀 etc
I was given a waiver for marijuana and couldn’t get the job i wanted because of security clearance, would the same apply if i wanted to re enlist or waited a year to want to switch my job?
JT man I went to meps and passed everything but my hearing exam now I'm going back tomorrow to do it again i swear that's the dumbest thing to get held back for because I can hear just fine and it was just my left ear
I want go to the navy, but I messed up and told I have a shrimp allergy. They denied my wavier and I've currently gotten medical documentation for my allergist and put in an appeal for that denied wavier. Do you think there is a chance they will accept my appeal?
I had a minor knee surgery a couple years back for a torn LCL. I have full mobility and very rarely ever feel any pain in it, and if I do it's extremely manageable. Would this affect my chances of getting into navy as a GM?
I have regular blue cross insurance, I had Medicare as kid& early adult. Along with insurance threw post office from my moms insurance. Will they be able to see that?
I really want to join the navy. I'm taking the asvab next month and I used to have asthma and grew out of it. I did some research and came across something called security clearance. Do they check your medical records???? I need some feedback.
Ok actually this video is very bad advice. My best friend serving got admin sep because of "falsified enlistment" He lied to recruiter/meps and the navy found out 3 years later because they did EXACTLY what you said at the 3:10 mark He went to medical for MH and that's when decided to do some digging into his past. They don't need to go to his hometown, they just need to put in a medical record request. Everything you said IS technically true, but it's clear to me that you do not have enough experience with this type of thing to make these statements. The only time I recommend lying to MEPS or the recruiter is when there is ZERO documentation or evidence that can be used to prove you were lying (IE smoking the reefer at any point in your life)
What should I do if I have self inflicted scars that I did 7 years ago, I'm trying to join the marines. And I didn't cut because I was depressed, it was because my friends were doing it and I was trying to fit in. What should I do?
Robbie B yep I literally just got out of MEPS yesterday and some girl had scars that weren’t from self harm but she had to sign a waiver because they looked like they were but then you’ll have to come back so that sucks
yo jt I know you probably won't see this but I technically have asthma even tho I have been fine for years it hasn't been a problem since I was 7 even tho last year I was prescribed some meds even tho I didn't need them, and I want to join the air force. if I lie they won't find out right? should i tell my recruiter or lie to everyone
so my background came back clean twice at the recruiter office but i go to meps monday will my record pop... i was finger printed for my charges (some one please reply!)
I remember getting hives from the Smurfs we got because of my sensitive skin, and I was SIQ for a day. When I was sleeping hard in my rack, we had a fire drill and everyone got beat because no one woke me up to get out of the space. I felt so bad about it and apologized, and everyone was cool with it.
I lied about my ticket that I got, my recruiter told me not to mention it, it was under $300 but I signed saying I told them everything. I swore in but I'm still nervous as to what to do, I told my recruiter about it before even going to Meps and he said don't tell them so I didn't. It was a minor traffic violation. What do I do
Yeah they definitely find that out during your background check at MEPS, it'll probably help if you paid it off but they will still see that you've gotten a speeding ticket in the past.
I'm late. But see if you can take defensive driving to have it removed from your record. It depends on the state, but Texas lets you do it once a year. Actually, The defensive driving course gave us discount coupons for the next year...repeat offenders, you know?
between july and september 19 im going to boot camp im 5'8 185lbs ive had a job that requires me to be outside 30 hrs a week im going to be a BM how do You think bootcamp will be?
well if you are used to hard work and grueling hours bootcamp shouldnt be that difficult ,,, especially if you are in really good physical shape all you have to worry about is learning everything and becoming a sailor
JTsuits I have some basic lingo like scuttlebucket the head bulkhead and starboard and port side down, my faces (right face about face etc) needs a little work but i work in 98° sun most of the time cutting up pallets or working on mowers in an open shop which is probably 90°, i have a little weight on me for fat, ive never been a skinny guy nor toned so i appreciate you taking the time to answer me so thankyou sailor.

Thomas Nope. those records are perminant.
Ej Nappe
They are WHAT????
What if whatever you had that could have disqualified you clears up? For example my friend that was in the Marine Corps was rejected initially cause he had a scab on his arm which was considered an open wound, but MEPs just told him to come back when it healed
so you told a white lie so you can serve your country ,,, its okay just relax... the navy doesnt have little secret Navy Elfs going to everyones hometown doctor getting your records. see u friday

On the drive they asked me how in Hell I knew that Agent ____ was a former Marine, and that they had gotten paranoid about it - as if I had inside information:
I told them that I'm not an idiot and that when you're in a small room with only two other people for 4-6 hours you notice things.
JTsuits realist video 👍🏽
what if they ask u if have ever been to the Emergency room? like lets say for example one time it was a weekend at night time so the only thing open was the ER. but the things u went to the ER for dont bother u. is it believable to say u never went to the ER?
I admitted, at MEPS, that I took MDMA in London 2 weeks before I was to ship out. I went before a USAF Major who told me I wouldn't leave in the morning if it was submitted. Then he tore the paper in half and told me to fill out a new one "correctly" this time. I left for the airport to RTC in the morning.
Gee San get away from that recruiter and see a different one lol
Gee San damn, just go to another branch I say, it happens
Gee San I slipped up and told mine I smoked pot 😂 he put it in the system and then I just ended up going to another branch
Gee San went to meps already?
Michael McKinley hell yeah
what happens is just keep your mouth shut, get through the interrogation at meps, and get to basic
V.M. Ari hahaha lmao
say they don’t find out from you telling them at bootcamp but they say see something in a x ray would they care or let it slide
Everyone, if MEPS or the military knew your medical history or had access, then why would they tell YOU to get them? Think about it and calm down.
Downpouor ok
Downpouor so they don't have access to your medical history?
Zaddy J King
Do they?
transcendence idk that's what I want to know
They do not have access to your medical records unless you have signed a release
I talked with a dude once who told me he broke a bone in his arm when he was a teenager, he never brought it up and did 4 years in the navy and got out two years ago and had a successful career.
Not telling people what they should do but you should really think about it before you just decide to go with anything and weigh the pros and cons.
I will NEVER lose your paper work lol
nicky have you ever seen civilian records being pulled in your 8 years ?
JTsuits I haven't ever seen corpsman or medical people do it. We typically just ask about your medical history. We don't have the time to personally check your records from when you joined onwards.
Even if its the military, I think they aren't able to pull out your medical records because its due to HIPAA violations. Unless addressed in court, correct me if I'm wrong though. Was just a thought.
You never saw his papers ;)
andy cab You sign away that privacy twice during enlistment. Once with your recruiter, and again at MEPS.
Whenever i watch your videos about injuries or just MEPS in general, I realize how lucky i am to be so healthy lol
Dude its fucking scary especially if you wanna be a 75th ranger

any updates?
So you got an other job ?
Other females at meps: “the doctor was so nice!”
Me: *gets interrogated for no reason*
I still passed meps the first time tho 🤷♀️
Girls: that was fun boys: they put a gun to my head and told me to say yes
Jk jk don't worry they don't
@@ksisadboy888 😂😂
I was told I was gonna get yelled at and interrogated... I got lost of help and patience lmao
I dont know why, but I like your raw, edge towards the topics. Cant stand the do gooders. Thanks for shooting it straight. appreciate the realism.
Doubt it
Just dont make it noticeable during boot. After you graduate, you’re solid
Update ??
Update?
Dont risk it for the biscuit kids.
yeah i should have mentioned Mental Health but definitely don't lie if you have legit Mental Illnesses that could Flare up during training.,
Bootcamp and Training for the Navy can be very stressful and bring the worst out of some people
Patrick Reilly yes I never thought about how many days I had left during my 9 month and 6 month cruise ,, just focused on getting to my rack and relaxing every night and also hitting port

Good content and none of that ableist crap from other sources.
what happened? did you get in
Did they find out?
What ended up happening?
Let's just say I admitted to having ADHD and now my recruiter is under investigation now
EDIT UPDATE: I have to wait a full year before joining, she is no longer under investigation and still doing her job as a recruiter
Hey, why did you have to wait a year?
@@guntheerrj you have to be off meds and no active prescription for a certain amount of time to get a waiver for the disqualification how long varies by branch apparently

Did they ever find this out?

if you went to MEPS and signed the consent form for the military/government to access your medical records, but ended up not enlisting, can the military/government still access your medical records?
My friend went to boot camp about a month ago, panicked when she was getting yelled at and they accused her of lying about past medical history of anxiety because her dad suffers from it, they dropped the charges because she doesn't have any prior medical history for it but now she's being medically discharged
What if you went to therapy about a year ago just because i wanted help to finish school and find a job, could that disqualify you immediately? Should i keep my mouth shut?
Therapy is not a DQ factor
Does meps check mental health history and will i be disqualified for not telling them of diagnoses of anxiety and depression
Miriam Carr that wasn’t for you lol
I was involved in drugs etc, hospitalized because of it - no criminal charges, but had been given a bipolar 2 diagnosis. I have not been on medicine in years; I have been stable, but I believe I would get DQ'd. I scored a 79/99 on prelim Asvab this week, but I did not mention bipolar disorder to the recruiters.
I have been wondering about this: If you are prior enlisted, go to the VA, get diagnosed with something like ADD/PTSD/etc., and then try to hit up the reserves...if you lie about that can they find that out?
thanks for all your videos JTSuits, I'm leaving for boot camp on August 15th as an AECF (hopefully FC) but thanks for everything!
Aaayyyyy, I'm leaving for basic in august. Gonna be doin that avionics stuff. What is your advice? You should also do a video about the differences between typical navy and squadron life.
Been thinking about the Air Force personally, but your videos are insightful
I fell asleep at the beginning of this when it was quite, than when he spoke it scared tf outta me. God damn...
Can i still pass if i tore my acl a few years ago? Will i get disqualified? I can still run and jump tho. Can i lie about it?
Pls answer this asap im getting a secret security clearance and my recruiter told me 2 lie about a deferred juvinile case that was a misdemeanor it did evolve drugs which i did get a waiver for the weed thing or at least i think. i smoked weed twice, will that shit bite me in my ass i already went 2 meps btw and told them what my recruiter told me about never getting arrested .
So if i have adhd should i lie or apply for a waiver. Im kinda leaning towards lying
What did you do?
I’m in the same boat.. what’d you do???
unamerican teen i havent graduated yet lol. From what i hear if its diagnosed the best thing to do is apply for a waiver but i heard so many stories of ppl getting their waiver denied or it taking forever to get processed. So im still unsure but i feel like lying.
boblo escapee ^
I have mental health records but was never diagnosed with anything, should i be worried? my recruiter told me not to say anything? They're also tricare
MrILOVEALLHATERS no
How'd that go for you
S LB well I originally lied to the lady at meps but eventually told the truth.
Notification squad stand up
I have disclosed that I have a very mild case of asthma to recruiter, and I've never had an asthma attack or anything serious.
I guess shouldn't worry too much.
damn you'll be #1 or 2 in your division for sure for mile time ,, thats fast as truck
Glad I watched this, great info! thanks brotha! Between you and Kyle, some valuable info!!
Will the military check job history thoroughly? I’ve had quite a few jobs, but only listed 3 ,will I get in trouble for not listing them all?
Ur fine
I have a small cervical fracture( broke neck) and waiting to hear back from recruter for physical at meps my dr cleared me for high impact military training thoughts?
Andrew thenig if you broke your neck in the past no way you’ll get accepted
Andrew thenig
If you broke your neck before, I don’t think it would be a good idea to join. If you get in, you could really injure yourself. 😬
Going to boot camp tomorrow JT , watched all your videos and they helped me get ready for it i'm a little nervous but ill be good:)

Thanks everyone.

so i told my recruiter about my criminal past he was like we can get a waiver for it, do i say anything at meps orrrr?
I have a medical card a year ago but haven't smoke when it expired. Would I need to tell them?.

Is that for all branches or just the Navy??
What about trips to the ER? Are those easier to access? If I pull my medical record from one hospital, will it show a visit from a different hospital?
Dylan Drake i lied about it at meps, i broke my arm and had surgery, they only set it not open it up, no scars no need to tell them
So I've had hip surgeries and signed a release for JUST what they needed to approve me. Will they pull the rest of my records?
What happens if u take add meds can u still take them
1987jeepyj If you still need meds for ADD after 13 years old that's a Disqualifier.
No I think he means can you take your meds during boot camp? It depends on what it is but if it has ANYTHING to do with ADHD or depression or something of that sort then no. Your not gonna be able to get that type of medication during boot camp, so they need to see that you can operate without it.
What would you say about prior marijuana use, I've never been convicted or anything so if I just say no ???
they only know what you tell them ,, unless you are dumb and pop on the drug test at MEPS because you didnt wait long enough for it to get out of your system ,.

JTsuits What if the rating you need requires a TS clearance and they ask you on a polygraph test?
i don't think they do polygraphs ? do they still do that shit ? polygraphs arent reliable at all
JTsuits I was gonna ask the same...What about Secret or Top Clearances (Single Scope Background investigation, National Agency Check and Local Agency Check), do they check medical records during the process? If for some reason I don't disclose something at MEPS because I feel fine and later on I need medical will they check for previous conditions when I get Tricare?
I fucked up my clavicle and now it pops not to bad but it’s sometimes uncomfortable I want to join the military but think this might be an issue if they find out. Any advice
Yo JT Got a question you might have answered sometime ago not sure. This is manly for the Aircraft Carriers but anyways. On the average how does a typical day/shift go. Like You wake up, go to your work, what happens after work, free time? or something.
video on this soon #AskJT
My Air Force recruiter told me “not to worry about my texting and driving infraction” (i payed it off less than $200) so she didn’t scan anything in the system.. they are going to ask me if I had any tickets ? I’m guessing I say no... but later when they do background checks I’m afraid it will pop up. If anyone has any advice that would be welcomed.
Da44Undahthepill0w since it’s legal, sounds like something you should say before getting in. But I wouldn’t know too much myself. Run your own background check with courts/police. Whatever shows up you must report.

I've been thinking about joining for about three months now and I think I'm ready to move forward, but fear some things might hold me back. 1.
Sorry for the spelling errors by the way
Can you give me a description of the red/green color blind test? What it’s like how the set up is etc do they change the test a lot & what’s your advice for someone who has a mild red/green color blindness can you still pass or no? Or can you find a way to cheat 👀 etc
If you are prescribed something like Zoloft and are off it for years will you get disqualified?
James Balazy
An Army recruiter told me you have to be off meds for a year to join.
Aurora Michael what if you were diagnosed for mild depression 3 years ago from a therapist but never took any medication for it?
Aurora Michael as in I wasn’t prescribed anything
I was given a waiver for marijuana and couldn’t get the job i wanted because of security clearance, would the same apply if i wanted to re enlist or waited a year to want to switch my job?
I love you for this bro.
JT man I went to meps and passed everything but my hearing exam now I'm going back tomorrow to do it again i swear that's the dumbest thing to get held back for because I can hear just fine and it was just my left ear
I stop having asthma when I was 14 and I never had an asthma attack or anything like that. I also was on my schools raider team. Should I be good ?
if nothing is on paper it never happened
Charles Gallo what paper the paper you said yes no on
I want go to the navy, but I messed up and told I have a shrimp allergy. They denied my wavier and I've currently gotten medical documentation for my allergist and put in an appeal for that denied wavier. Do you think there is a chance they will accept my appeal?
Darrell Perkins if it’s from a medical doctor then you have a chance
Robbie B thank you so much. I truly appreciate your input.
I had a minor knee surgery a couple years back for a torn LCL. I have full mobility and very rarely ever feel any pain in it, and if I do it's extremely manageable. Would this affect my chances of getting into navy as a GM?
Did you pass? I tore my acl, didnt have any surgery but its fine ican still run at jump
No, they can't for security clearance it a violation of HIPPA.
Ok actually this video is very bad advice.
My best friend serving got admin sep because of "falsified enlistment"
He lied to recruiter/meps and the navy found out 3 years later because they did EXACTLY what you said at the 3:10 mark
He went to medical for MH and that's when decided to do some digging into his past.
Robbie B yep I literally just got out of MEPS yesterday and some girl had scars that weren’t from self harm but she had to sign a waiver because they looked like they were but then you’ll have to come back so that sucks
yo jt I know you probably won't see this but I technically have asthma even tho I have been fine for years it hasn't been a problem since I was 7 even tho last year I was prescribed some meds even tho I didn't need them, and I want to join the air force. if I lie they won't find out right? should i tell my recruiter or lie to everyone
so my background came back clean twice at the recruiter office but i go to meps monday will my record pop... i was finger printed for my charges (some one please reply!)
cameron logan how did that turn out?
As a Corpsman.....I have to agree with the "lost" forms/records.
no hard feelings
How about a stereotype video? Like each rate and there true or thought to be true stereotypes?
Whatup fam! Hey jt quick question, how do you deal with dog shedding in your house??? Love your content bro!!!!
u just accept it and become one with the hair
Lmao
The doc at MEPS wanted to fail me so bad but they wont find anything unless you tell them
I remember getting hives from the Smurfs we got because of my sensitive skin, and I was SIQ for a day. When I was sleeping hard in my rack, we had a fire drill and everyone got beat because no one woke me up to get out of the space. I felt so bad about it and apologized, and everyone was cool with it.
Andy San lol goddam they left ya in the compartment >.
What do I do
Well honestly they will probably find it during your background check/security clearance stuff
Sebastian Pay it off ASAP.
I went to rehab for opioids. Will MEPS find out? Even if i lie, can they disqualify me?

well if you are used to hard work and grueling hours bootcamp shouldnt be that difficult ,,, especially if you are in really good physical shape all you have to worry about is learning everything and becoming a sailor
