Great to see you posting another video. Understand why you cut down though. Still don’t know how you find the time when you are going all out to finish the job. I certainly don’t seem to have a minute to spare at the moment. Thanks 👍
Hi Iain🖐It does take up a lot of my time, but I think I've found a fairly happy balance now, and try to get a couple of videos out a month🤞Thanks for your great comment and for watching 🤩Cheers Del
Hi there🖐Absolutely bud, and I was actually looking forward to this job as I knew it would be hassle free and a giggle🤩Thanks for watching 😎 Cheers Del
A great bit of work there Del. You soon got it whipped up . You can get a cone like cutter that fits in your drill and fits over the threaded rod to changer the end .👍👍
Nice job in the dry. And a bit less cold. I agree a good job to do. Pretty simple work. Satisfying job. And for a mate. Perfect. We are cooking in high 30's heat. And the first Cyclone of the season is currently hitting Qld as a category 2. Doing a fair bit of damage as it tracks inland towards the Daintree. End of this week we should get the fall out. Some much needed rain. Different world.
Ona a job a while back using chem fixing when we ran out and needed to go and get some more. Store had run out of the brand we were using so got a different brand. Half filled a hole with the last bit of the first brand and then filled hole up with some of the new stuff. And then the 2 reacted creating a gas cloud that instantly filled the work area and we couldn't breather and with eyes streaming ran out of the room. And we were working in a secure facility and got an almighty rollocking for that, a proper one. Don't mix your chemicals fella's.
Very amateurish on our part, considering we'd filled out a COSHH sheet. Seriously, the smell was off the chart, really choking. Learned a lesson from the ear bashing we got!
Always nice to see you Del and it looks likes a good project for this time of year. Great tip in how you managed to straighten out that ledger. A tip I have for you is next time on a similar job, before cutting your bolts thread the nuts on first just behind the length needed and it will save you deburring the ends, especially 40 bolts. Looking forward to part 2 but if thats all for 2023 thanks for all the videos and happy xmas to you and your family. 👏👏👏
That's a great tip Kevin 👍 I just need to make sure I actually have some nuts next time🤪 Many thanks for your best wishes and hope you too have a nice Christmas 🎄 Cheers
You should try using thunderbolts Del. No need for resin and rod any more. M12 thunderbolt abd you just drill a 10mm hole and drive it in. Saves loads of time.
Quality video Del; that looks a nice project and those are some quality looking timbers (apart from the bowed one!). The resin part made me chuckle; looks like you got it in "bolts" deep, right up to the nuts!
Honest bud, Ryan is just a inappropriate comment machine, and it took all my editing skills to keep the video from being X rated😆Thanks for watching 😎 Cheers Del
Well Del . A laser is handy for this job. How did we manage before them 😅. I am a little jealous you been able to mark the studs were the laser hit, while standing 😂. I would need a steps 🙄🤣. Great video. 👍 🇮🇪
Hi Paul🖐To be fair, the joists are only 2.2 meters off the floor, so not much of a stretch for most people👍And yes, it's crazy how much easier laser levels have made the game👊Thanks for watching 😎 Cheers
@@thetallcarpenter That is a low ceiling for a carpentry workshop. Even for a not-so-tall carpenter. Too low to swing a full sheet around, let alone a cat. On lasers, I was compelled to buy an expensive rotary laser level 20 years ago to set out a new house on a steep site by myself. A dumpy level and a five metre stick clamped to a saw stool just didn't cut it. I earned the laser level back on that job alone. I just recently bought a cheap 3/360 laser level with receiver from Aliexpress. It is fantastic and remarkably accurate. How long it will last is of course another matter...
Having worked in the mud whole week i am looking forward building something similar next month, think slightly smaller but its in a heated space. Impressive progress, if you are alome it gennerally takes 3 times longer. Cheers!
push it in as far as we can.. give it a couple of pumps and hopefully everyones happy 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you can tell you two are mates like. good craic when jobs are like that. just as a minor point. i found that toolstation sell short sections of threaded bar for this sort of thing which maybe wirth a look in future
Hi Paul🖐hope you are well bud🤞Yeah, I do enjoy working with Ryan, it's always fun🤪I'll check out the short resin rods at toolstation 👊Thanks for watching 😎 Cheers

Sure is Michael👊Every time I'm grinding the sharp edges off threaded rod, I remember how much I need to get one of those deburring bits👍Thanks for watching 😎 Cheers Del

Another great video Del, joisting out a space like this is always a glory job as it changes instantly, looking forward to the next video. Did you consider a double top plate for the stud wall? Cheers, Will.
Hi Will🖐We didn't go for a double top plate purely because there is 18mm osb screwed on both sides of the wall👍Thanks for watching and your comment 😎 Cheers Del
Tell him it's 12.7mm not 12.5 ;)
I suspect you will be the first of many to correctly point out this Mark👊Cheers Del
