Man lots of good points. Especially love you mention TEA and UCoB as choices for 1st (seen mad lads go for TOP 1st). But man the comment you said with statics. It’s easy to find one, but hard to find a good one. I joined one for TOP, and while I was having bad DPS (rotation issues that no one pointed out for over a month which I fixed in a day after I found out), I was kicked . Rest group stuck together despite I was the most consistent. And like I mean stuff was bad like seeing us hit P4, only next weeks we never pass P3 due to mechanical failure. But one thing I will say to any wannabe raider, don’t give up. People only get to the top from numerous failures. I have 23 TOP kills, but I got there from 6 months of progging. I was stuck in P5 prog due to pf memes but someone I had touched base before helped me in my time of need and help me prog and beat TOP. And it ignited my love for ultimate raiding. I went for more kills so I could be confident to help others. I did the other 3 ultimates (UCoB, TEA, DSR) despite saying I wasn’t going to, and being especially afraid of DSR. The dream is never dead so long you keep going, people gonna push you down, but you can push past them. I know I was ASTATIC to see my old static leader and another in the group were still stuck on P5 Delta when I cleared several times.
Having the mental fortitude to push past obstacles like this is such a powerful thing, and is why I wanted to make it a focus, since from what I've seen, it's not a topic that's talked about nearly enough, and this is an example of why it's so important. Glad things worked out in the end! 😁
Just got into this game about 2 months ago already logged 500 hours and am closing in on level 90 just cruising msq. I come from other mmos with end game raiding and have been getting antsy to get into ultimates. This is the perfect starter guide thank you 😊
I know this is a video on Ultimate raiding but your advice would be quite helpful for people getting into savage too, especially the mindset stuff! I'm currently aiming to clear M4S and I've noticed that I tend to tense up near the end due to stressing over mechanics far in advance and messing up the one I'm currently doing. I'm not quite at Ultimate level yet but I hope to be one day and I'll keep your advice in mind when i do!
You do raise a good point, and is something I actually forgot to mention in the video (oopsie lol), since there are people who are intimidated by Savage as well. Good luck on that M4S clear, and hope things go well if you do ever tackle Ultimate! 😁
You don't actually need gemdraughts for the older Ultimates as potions have a cap, so be sure to check the mb, might be able to get away with some cheaper potions for them.
Me sitting here pf quad legend watching these types of content to see if I missed anything and for background noise as I hit combat dummys Keep it up nice guide
agreed here, I'm a double legend but this helps reaffirm some of the things I had started to figure out. Still terrified of doing ultimates in PF though.
This was a very encouraging video, thanks a lot for making it honestly :] I've been making my way through the game's free trial and I was hoping to have Unending Coils as the climax of my journey, so this was all really helpful to hear
@@elukajiro3233 Yes they are not available to free trials players. And also not recommended for people not at least 1 expansion ahead, as you need the BiS (very annoying to get) at that level unless you want others to carry you
I was stuck on Everkeep for over a MONTH thanks to PF. Finally, one day, I clear it in one attempt, and find out just how close I have gotten multiple tines... cannot imagine progging ultimate content with it.
This is a great video, but there are two points I'd like to make as someone who raids in XIV, and I feel like you hinted at them, but didn't fully say: 1) You can do any of this content in the game without knowing anything beforehand!! People do it all the time when things are first released, don't feel like you can't because it's old content. But if you do wish to do something blind, be VERY clear with everyone that is your intention, and I would highly recommend finding others who are also likeminded, or have an insane patience tolerance. You are generally expected to know how to do the fight when joining a prog group, so if you are trying to go blind into something, don't join general parties because they WILL expect more of you than you know. (Also if you're doing general prog, don't get angry when joining blind parties, especially if they warned you
Nice video! as a party finder progger myself I could feel the pain in your words lol. I feel like the hardest thing of clearing an ultimate is having patience, more than playing well
Finding a good static started to seem like just an impossible thing for me. I tried it. I cleared TEA in a static and didn't have a good time at all. I was constantly annoyed by endless and pointless yapping and was incredibly glad that it was over. Managed to prog like 2 phases of dsr with them and then just dipped. Couldn't take that anymore. Tried finding another. After a couple of tryouts i just gave up. Seems like statics are just not my thing. They are way too restrictive for me and i am stuck with same people for a long time. I am not a very social person and turns out u gotta...talk to people when you are in a static. This is most definitely a "me" problem and is not indicative of anything other than my own hurdles but still. I bet there are people with the same low level of tolerance for talking. Ended up clearing the rest of the Ultimate roster in PF and i don't regret a thing. Yes DSR took 4 months, yes TOP took 1.5. But that was at my own pace when i want and i always could just leave and find another group. The whole Pentalegend thing took me almost precisely 1 year with a lot of pauses and breaks but it is completely doable in PF.
Such an amazing and Incredible vdieo and this helps me so much even tho this is my first tier for savage raiding and haven't even clear m1s yet because of how not consistent PF is where as If I was in an static I feel like maybe I can learn an lot more and grow a lot more but exactly what you say finding an static is easy but its where finding an good static can be extremely hard but well said on this video and I do hope that one day Im able to do ultimates too because I really really want too I just really hate pfing and the not consistent Party finder is
On a quick note, you can pf FRU on release but dont expect to clear phase 1 or 2 for a bit because skill issues of pf. If you are dead set on FRU 1st ult i suggest watchinh streamers povs contantly so that you see what is in the future when pf gets there.
I have been working on de-rusting DSR, my old static fell apart at p6 Wroth and have been slowly getting back to my prog point in PF. I really hope for those lucky PFs so that I can get back to p6 and get the clear before FRU releases.
Very much disagree with your point regarding statics where you say "don't kick them out if they're learning more slowly than everyone else". If a member is dragging everyone else down, and they are not living up to the prog expectations that the group decided on before starting the fight, then a change in roster is absolutely warranted. The slower player will, over time, become frustrated with themselves, and the rest of the group will likely become resentful of that player. I have seen statics fall apart because the raid lead was too afraid to kick the bad player and the rest of the group decided staying was not worth their time. It's kind of like amputating a finger to save the hand.
this is a good point. I should have elaborated more on "if someone isn't living up to the group's expectations for x, y, or z reason, then a roster change might need to happen". The point was mainly if, say, someone is struggling on Party Synergy for example, but learning the rest of the fight isn't a huge deal, then you wouldn't want to be upset with them immediately just because Party Synergy took longer than they anticipated. Regardless, you are right, if it's a *constant* issue which drags everyone else down, then something should happen. That's on me for not being more clear on that front.
i guess, but I have cleared every ultimate spread out between 4 different statics that started with plenty of fresh proggers. ig what im saying is I've never ran into a legitimate performance problem with a player, at least not nearly as much as I run into other problems (particularly drama, the high end raiding community is a magnet for it)
personally for me, things like this discourages me from getting into ultimates in the first place as it makes me feel like i have to have mastered the encounter mechanically before even progging it to begin with which is a paradox. But i guess thats how groups roll. (I'm more afraid of the playerbase than the content's challenge itself)
@@Diddz you are taking it to an extreme. Don't do that. We are talking about static, right? There are people that genuinelly drag others down. This issue is not obvious from the start. Almost never. You might surprise yourself :) Of course the gradation of a "slow progger" varies from group to group but it is still hardly the reason to outright not giving it a fair try. For Unlocking the fights: O4S and O8S dont need a full party of 8, a party of 4 should be enough! E4S also doesn't need a full party, did it with 5 recently but with 2 tanks 3 dps so 1 tank 4 dps may be fine! P4S if you're unlocking in PF, bump up the Item Level a bit past 710, maybe to 720. I cannot stress enough that people need to know how to do damage to skip Act 2. P8S having damage to skip the second set of first animals is nice, but doesn't really help with Phase 2 since you have to do HC1 all the time currently.
O4S and O8S can be done with like 2 or 3 people too, just takes longer and if ur not all tanks might need to do mechs not sure, I've done both during ew with 3 people.
