    I'd like to make a correction about the oil statement: Ford recommended 10w30 for these trucks from the factory NOT 5w30, However in the late 90's they released a service bulletin recommending 5w30. And apparently even later they released another one recommending 5w20! 1 would NOT recommend running 5w20 in any OBS motor, 5w30 is good for harsh winters up north I run 5w30 in the winter but 10w30 for the rest of the year or year round if you live in a warm climate (Also don't bother with synthetic on these engines)

    Keep an extra ignition module for these trucks in your glovebox…also, note that the big block modules will not cross over to the small blocks

    I am the original owner of a 95 F150. It does not have the mass air flow sensor.
    It is a speed density engine with OBD 1. Wondering if your 94 has the California
    emissions certification. Would explain why it has MAF.

      My 94 is a Canadian truck so not California emissions, Is your 95 Manual or automatic because I’m pretty sure for whatever reason the manuals stayed MAP / speed density for a while longer than the automatics, My 94 is an auto 4R70w and has a MAF

    what does that spacer between the throttle body and intake do? i got the 1988 f250 with the 5.8L. i do know at about 1995 ford stopped making cranks for the 5.8L so they used the 5.0L cranks in them. you can tell real quick the difference by the snout on the front of the crank. the 5.8L harmonic ballancer will just slide on and off of it really easy with just your hands. the only difference between the 5.0L and 5.8L blocks is really the deck hight of the blocks the 5.8L block is about an inch or so taller and the roller cam. i did all the upgrades to mine with the 130 amp and 175 mega fuse, i moved the ignition module to the fender like the 92`s. i found an oil cooler off an ambulance in salvage yard. and i also installed the chevy fuel tank selector switch under the truck for the tanks and added the fuel resivior cannister from a f250 bronco. i also did the egr block off trick. my truck runs sooooo much better and feels like its got a little more power oh. i also did the e350 power steering pump and bracket upgrade. it is a night and day difference no more power steering pump noise. now i just got to get the hoses for my a/c and charge it up with my r12 freon. then i be all set

      That spacer works the same way as any generic carb spacer, The theory is longer path for air to travel makes for better atomization. Not sure how well it works with the EFI though I wasn’t the one who installed it. And man that sounds like an awesome build! I’m
      Looking into deleting all the EGR and EVAP stuff on my 94 as well as getting a Redhead or Bluetop steering box

    Useful info. I have a 95 F150 with a 5.0 and my oil pressure gauge is only reading a quarter all of a sudden. Motor is making noise. Sending unit/switch or gauge itself?

    • @technicalitems731
      @technicalitems731 Рік тому +1

      Might have a clogged oil pump screen. Common issue. Remove oil sending unit. Get a king nipple. Plumb in a manual oil pressure gauge and run tubing through little rubber port in firewall. (Buy cheap generic gauge) Zip tie below dash. Watch gauge fit a day or two. If showing good pressure you can now safely install a new factory idiot gauge style sending unit.

    • @clasmaster1471
      @clasmaster1471 Рік тому

      @@technicalitems731 thank you. I had a typo in my original comment. The motor is not making noise. Gauge has been this way for about a month. I’ve had the truck for 14 years and have kept up religiously on oil changes. It would definitely be nice knowing what the actual oil pressure is and making sure I do have good oil pressure, but with the oil switch only being about $10 makes me wonder if I shouldn’t just swap it out first and see if it fixes the gauge. Either way I appreciate the good info.
