Loved the video and edit, Great bream, well done.
Thanks Big Kev, that was a donkey!
Just goes to show a great fisherman can catch fish with almost anything! It blows my mind how that mussel lure can catch fish since it doesn’t look like much at all haha!
Great video, Shroom!
Thanks Hai, I think a lot of people have the same thoughts but at the same time, that's how they look in the wild haha
Great fish as always massive breams and sad to loose that massive fish
Thanks X3 Grims, I was stoked with that donkey, that lost fish I only wish I knew what it was!
You should try what a lot of the guys in the US are doing lately and attach a Go-pro to a rod and lower it over the side of the wharf to midwater or to the bottom. Be interesting to see what is going on down there.
Thanks for the idea Matui, I haven't seen it, it is usually too murky to see far on a GoPro but I may give it a go some time
Great video shroom
Glad you enjoyed it
Always sucks to lose a good fish but that sound effect u put in there made me crack up 🤣 nother banga shroom keep it up
Haha I was cracking up when I was editing it Boed! 😂
Another top video mate
Thanks Des!
Great video!
I appreciate it Adam 👍
Mate, some good action. The bream were a good size too. A trick i was shown, when fishing for bream around wharf pylons etc with lures, chuck in little bit of crushed up barnacles, dead oyster shells or broken up pippi shells etc, down along side of the pylons. A bit like shell burley. The small flashes from the sinking shell bits can get their attention. Would be ideal with that mussel lure you had. Any advantage you can get always helps👍 Cheers.
Thanks Trevor. It's that slow time of year for me but some brutes about if you can get them on the chew! That's a great tip, I will have to try that some time and if I catch I'll be throwing a fist full every drop haha.
@@ShroomFishing hey buddy if along your ways you see a good spot too launch a kayack from not far too walk kayack too will great too know love the vids
Awsome video keep it up bro
I appreciate it Silias
It sucks when you pull the hook but sometimes in the structure you have pull hard to keep their heads up. Nice bream, well done !
Thanks Tim! I kept the head out of that donkey out but that mystery fish was seconds from being landed!
love this shroom
Thank you 👍
this video reminds me of when fishing victoria did it
Good stuff
Hey mate, flatty hole under fig tree bridge.. hooked 3 flatties off 3 casts.
Nice place that, sounds like it's going alright!
Sweet , nice and early mate . 🤙🎣 Need a fix , have fished the Parra the last four days for zilch . 😥
Thanks David! Then you know how hard it is to get a video right now lol. August and Sept for me are the toughest months, sometimes you get lucky but usually seems very quiet
@@ShroomFishing spot on mate . Nearly went to that place today to try me luck . Instead I went down to the fresh and checked out some new cicada lures I just bought , to see how they swim . 🤙 They look pretty good for when the bass are back on the chew . ✔️🤙
@@davidshaul5265 nice, I didn't get a bass sesh on video last season I don't think so I'm looking forward to one this Summer
@@ShroomFishing mate the main river in Parra is the go . In summer it goes off . Just need to try different lures . Beetle spins and little hard bodies I find are the go . Can't wait to try these cicadas . 🎣👍
Awesome video Pete, what a cracker that fish would of been, I hate it when you don't get to ID the fish, always left dreaming about weather it could be a PB Bream or whiting, great video mate, amazing work, I went out to the canal last week, and was totally surprised when about ten or more salmon busted up on a heap of mullet, it scared the crap out of me as it happened almost at my feet, they weren't huge, but still decent sized, but great to see them there, as I've only seen them out in the bay , I've seen kings in the canal at Glebe, but never salmon, I threw my clone prawn at them, but no bites from them, but had a good day on the bream and flathead, you really need to try the smaller clone prawn in jelly prawn colour, It's my go to lure now, I haven't had a bad session since using them,
Thanks Anthony, it was basically seconds from being banked. That's good to see, salmon are fun and I can't believe I haven't come across any this season at all. I need to get some clone prawns shortly and do them justice!
Nice vid
Thanks
Gday mate, thanks for the vid. When you rig up a grub do you have the tail up or down? Do you think it makes any difference?
Hey Alan, tail up first and if I need to get a life or two out of the lure I will fish it rigged tail down or even sideways. I think it makes a small difference whether it is in your head or the way it looks at the very least but there's not a slam dunk right or wrong way from my own experiences.
Not surprised you pulled hooks, you should use drag much looser whatever species targeted in Estuary fishing, I’m only surprised it doesn’t happen to you more often
Thanks Justin, catch 22. Always hard to find the right balance but tight in structure I err on side of heavier drag as that was cast right up against hte building which had water underneath where the fish could have swam
I follow Liam Fitzpatrick, and yes I get you have to tighten up around structure, but generally, as he maintains, it’s heavier drag on the strike for hookup, then, especially if it’s a Flathead, but in the main too loosen off that drag, nothing wrong with Hollywood drag, it prevents lost fish, also good for the fish too, as not swimming off with yr rig. Whenever you can, loosen up that drag. Look I know yr a better fisherman than me, your a pro, but we can all learn off each other.
@@justinadams5159 No I am agreeing with you Justin, I am no pro at all. I just love fishing and everything about it
Sorry for all the questions, have you ever used Kairiki braid if so how do you rate it?
Yes Alan, Kairiki 6lb 4 strand is what I used here. For the price, I rate it highly and will use again.
Mulloway bro in my opinion. Or 70+ flathead. If tailor, the lure usually got chopped off. Spewing for sure bro, but I know you, you’ll always get your revenge 😊🤙
Thanks bro, something long was my first thought from what I saw! It was good to get a hook up, next time 😎
What brand lure and where did you get it
Off topic but when chasing kings land based using lures do you need to go heavy bcuz I’m look to buy a saragosa 6000 but my mates are saying go heavier
Hey Nicc, it's tough decision because no matter the gear a king can always smoke you. It depends how you intend to target them and what terrain. 6000 is generally a good size if you have a bit of space to fight the fish but then again if you hook a monster all bets are off lol
how do you retrieve the mussel lure? or not bother with a retrieve at all and reel up?
also do you dunk it in the strikezone?
I basically drop it adjacent to areas I think bream will be and do small lifts on the bottom
Went on my first kayak fish session and got a Pb bream (45cm) god they fight like a truck.
That's a huge PB, well done, those bream are rare as
Nice one Shroomy, I thought you had a big Trev there with soft mouths they pull hooks easy. 🤔 or was it a school jew or rat king??!?Was a fish fore sure lol 😂 great vid mate 👌
Yep that was a fish for sure Peter! I saw it was a long but that was all I could ascertain, it's left me wondering! COuld have been a school jew it was one of the species I thought right away in the video
What lb braid are you using on those rods?
6lb Shimano Kairiki Elias
Hey shroom, what leader knot you using for micro guides
Michael, I'm using the FG knot
@@ShroomFishing I struggle big time. Maybe I'm doing too many loops
What reel are u using at the first spot
It's the Shimano 14 Stella 2500 FI Tom
Spewing! Might’ve been a 50cm bream 😅
The mythical 50cm bream lol, rare as hens teeth!
Hang on... I thought you were there the other videos?
Yes I was here a while back Dave for a different video
I’m so early that the video hasn’t processed yet
Wow, I hope it's fine now
I took a few trips to the sydney wharfs but I can’t seem to catch any fish! I’m using zman grubs and s factor. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or my luck is just shit
Put a bait line as well
Key is to move around and fish as many bits of structure as you can. Zman grubs in bloodworm I have always found good in the harbour. 1/24 hidden weight and 4lb leader.
@@badlordboris6238 thanks is for the tip!
Good on you for giving it a red hot go Rben! It's tough fishing right now in the month of August, it get's easier as we exit winter but you never know, the fish are generally higher quality if you can hook up in the winter. Try to work the lures at half-speed and see if it improves your chances
Definitely slow your retrieval down the colder waters generally mean that fish are slower when they eat, move, etc. Also watermelon red zman and uv motoroil are effective on a sunny day

Im watching this at school lol
*Teacher* Hmm what are you watching? 👀
@@ShroomFishing Im just watching Shroom Mam
@Tom Henry 😂😂
Had to be a mulloway !
It was silver from what I saw Bakr 👍
How many grams the mussel ?
About 6g I reckon
Shrooom brother are from Philippines?
Not at all, I'm from Australia 👊😎
how do you find your spots?
A lot of trial and error Alex
@@ShroomFishing i live really close to most of your spots and I know you can’t give them out but a hint around the Harbour would be nice I’m going there for the first time fishing in a few days
That would have been a little jewfish for sure.
Yep that crossed my mind, you could be right
Watching this video while me having a lesson I hope she doesn’t notice me.
Just look like you're thinking very hard about something haha
Anyone know which wharf is this?
Shroom You are looking a bit more fit, obviously been working on your muscles.
Thanks Boris, not much much has changed but that's nice to hear! 😎👍
@@ShroomFishing I mean your muscle lures hahahaha
Ever filmed a video but not posted. Aka a failed video
Yes, you wouldn't how many but many failed videos and ideas that never came to fruition. The harder the idea, the more likely the video won't succeed but I keep tyring!
