- The Currents of Space Audiobook, by Isaac Asimov, read by Kevin Collins -
Rik is a man without a past, who wakes up on the planet Florina with a vague sense of doom. He soon learns that he is a spatio-analyst, a rare and gifted individual who can detect the currents of space that flow between the stars. He also learns that he has made a terrible discovery: Florina, the world that produces the precious kyrt cloth, is doomed to be destroyed by a stellar flare. Rik must find a way to warn the people of Florina, who are oppressed by the Sarkites, the rulers of the nearby planet Sark. But he is hunted by enemies from all sides: the Sarkites, who want to silence him; the Florinians, who distrust him; and the Trantorian agents, who want to use him for their own purposes. Rik must also recover his lost memory, which holds the key to his identity and his mission. Along the way, he meets Valona, a brave and loyal Florinian girl who helps him escape; Samia, a beautiful and ambitious Sarkite lady who loves him; and Lepold, a young and naive Sarkite prince who befriends him. Rik’s journey leads him to uncover the secrets of Florina’s history, the origin of kyrt, and the fate of the Galactic Empire.
Kevin Collins possesses a masterful grasp of the human voice! Even without regional accents, his use of tone and tempo gives him a portfolio of HUNDREDS of unique character voices.
What a pleasure to experience!

Much better narration than another YT channels version, that was horrible.
ouch
Serious, a book that's not read by AI? Right on, man.
The narrator is fine. Maybe he could have avoided the accents, but they add some flavour.
In any case, this is not one of his worst books. His worst of those I read is A Pebble In The Sky. The Currents of Space has an interesting plot in my opinion and I like how it translates a colonial society to a spaceflight future. The character of the Townman is also an unusual study of a protagonist.

@47 nearly peaces
worst asimov book ever
Worst freakin narrator Ive ever heard. Using Earth accents is just ignorant, plus this has to be one of the worst stories ever written by Asimov. I find it hard to believe that he actually wrote this.
Just wait until you stumble on the AI generated books. You don't know how good you have it.
What accents is he supposed to use? Trantorian?
You should write a blues album, and call it "I'm a poor little sad sack"
