In Muricanistan, they would already had a class action lawsuit against Vovlo, and Volvo would not ony be forced to fix the cars, but also to pay money to the owners.

many things are indeed better than before, but letting go the legendary 5 cylinder engines was a huuuge mistake

Not so sure. This is not a quality problem, but a design problem. And Volvos are still designed by Swedish engineers, not Geely.

you can use any kind of wax sold in a spray can
if you want something specific there is a VW branded wax spray - part number: D322100M2
