A lot! I have a Superman combo deck. The one with the Wirewood Channeler and Pemmin's Aura and Day of the Dragon. A beatdown deck, with most cards from Onslaught Block. I used to collect Elf cards, but I stopped playing when Mirrodin came (aka the REAL dark age of M:tG). I would like to make a deck again from Lorwyn/Eventide Elves. I hope the Elves from Naya (Shards of Alara) will not disappoint.
yeah they did shuffle a hell of a lot. but i disagree that lorwyn has limited decks. the most popular are probably the g/b but shadowmoor and eventide added more possibilities for lorwyn and morningtide
This is pro tour magic. No need to take it so seriously if you're just playing with friends - "kitchen table magic" is the term for those in the know. I pretty much only have kitchen table decks - in a pro tour, my best deck would be knocked flat but I'm only in it for the fun of it.
The 'real' real dark age of magic was the beginning of urza block. Standard was rampant with Academy decks that could win on turn one, and usually turn two, and forced a multitude of bannings. In Mirrodin, Affinity was still a deck that could be hated out, which can be seen by viewing Masashiro Kuroda's PT Kobe winning decklist.
Yea good luck with that. These players play magic for probably over 15-20 hours a week (if not more), and most have played for quite a few years already.
You know... if you shuffle your deck 5 times, the deck works pretty good But... if you shuffle it 5 more times, the cards actually line up even better & your decks works even better But... if you were to shuffle your deck 20 times, then guess what? Your cards would line up exactly the way you want them to & you'd never lose. Cool huh?
This is also stepping over the line, but I try to talk to magic players about other subjects. Whenever I make a point about playing other games they don't hear me like part of their brain has been removed. And I don't believe they've heard it all before.
Yeah... those were the good days. I started playing in Urza block, but it was strictly casual. The Urza block had the finest arts in M:tG, greatest storyline and characters, not to mention the most broken cards ever (not really). The thing I hated most about Mirrodin was the transition from Onslaught to it to Kamigawa. It was 2 blocks of sub-par sets (Mirrodin and Kamigawa). Also, Mirrodin art was hideous! There were only 3 types of decks: Affinity, anti-affinity and anti-anti affinity.
Wow,they fucking shuffle for longer than they play. I get the idea of making sure your opponents deck is well shuffled, but there's a point when it becomes POINTLESS. It's not like there are going to be any surprises anyway,as everyone justs plays the same cards anyway. I miss Ravnica, and all the possible decks that came out of that...
it's important that cards from the previous games that were stacked be shuffled out into the deck without being clumped together, especially lands.
@Arenaboy007 they have sleeves. i think they are required too also

that really still hurts me inside when i see them riffle shuffle like that, sleeves or not...
the bridge? that's really just practice... Try it, throw cards everywhere, and keep doing it and it will start to get neater...
Nope. My heart skips a beat every time they riffle shuffle. Especially with Gindy's deck... I can't imagine doing that to a set of Tarmogoyfs.
@Lightmane321 yeah thats not always true
im sad that my lowryn kithkin deck is now legacy...
HE never lost his vanquisher...Ruess took the Emperious Perfect
YEAH!

Yeah... what a disappointment. At least we get awesome cat warriors. Qasali Ambusher and Wild Nacatl are really cool pussies, I mean cats. ;D
"but i want to get some more white in there instead of black"
you'll set yourself up for many racial jokes like this in mtg, have fun :D
