  • ► SYSTEM a campaign celebrating migration, music and culture 70 years after Windrush system.boilerr...
► Migrant Sound is a youthful celebration of migration and its impact on the UK’s music and culture. Combining broad societal stories with personal family anecdotal histories, the series will allow for emotional storytelling mixed with vibrant visuals of migrant culture, told through the lens of youth past and present.
The first episode Arrival, fast forwards viewers straight from the arrival of the first generation of Caribbean immigrants to the UK to this year’s Windrush scandal, showing the repeated challenges and disrespect that they have faced since their arrival. Boiler Room meets photographer Pogus Caesar and the Banton family from Peckham, who share how music helped them overcome the ignorance they met and shaped their identities, through multiple generations.

So far this is great! Being an American, I didn’t realize race relations were so sour in 20th century UK, like over here. Very sad, but these folks are so right about the power of music to shatter those barriers, it’s a beautiful thing. Looking forward to more! Peace, love, and solidarity from across the pond! Cheers ✊🏾✊🏼✊🏿✊🏽

Watching this again before I watch Pt. 2, I must ask: what is the track at the beginning that’s ultra-repetitive with the dude in the red shorts going “OHHH BLLLBBBRRRRAAAA” over and over? I need to know, thanks! ✌🏼🙏🏼

@Continued Wisdom I'm a Former member of a communist party and now I'm reading all about Ernst Thälmann, making a study about His speech and in general, how fascism starts and how ends, so im not a simple antifa fighting and flipping out the finger to nazis, im a full proletarian with a minimun wage, debts for education, financial hipoxia by social security, so I'm not a inorganic piece of half revolucionary i have a Little bit of background of working with social movements for their rights so, maybe the CP are ilegal in Germany (maybe it's Die Linke) i don't know, but I'm not considering myself as a antifa... Maybe I'm supposing to be completly antifascist (y) 😘
