    My name is Niki. I am a former high school chemistry & biology public school teacher turned homeschool mom of 4 kiddos. We are a secular homeschooling family, with a laid back schooling style. I'm a busy WAHM who just tries to stay afloat some days. But we would never change a thing!
    I would love to get to know you better down in the comments, and I hope you'll stay awhile and chat ❤️

    Exactly my plan with my son in a few months! Thanks for confirming my plan. For Alpha, i like to intertwine Kate Snow's Addition Facts That Stick!

      Great idea! I am defiantly going to pick those up along with Grade 1. Thanks for sharing!

    This video was so helpful. I already have MWC and now I’ll be purchasing Math U See and use them together.

    I noticed mus is more mastery and less review!!! I love that MWC puts review all thru!!! I can see that you pick a worksheet or activity from MuUS or MWC!!! We never needed the videos for the primer level!!! I loved that my math teacher used different styles and I’ve tried to do the same when needed!!!

    This was helpful to see! My 3rd and 4th grader are currently working through right start level D and I love the program (for the same reasons I know I would love MWC) but I feel like my kids need more practice. I’ve considered combining MUS and RSM next year, it wouldn’t line up super well but I do love the idea of having a mastery and a spiral. And I know they could do MUS independently.

      I've always be intrigued by Right Start, but it seems teacher heavy to me. Is it? I would be interested to hear how that little experiment goes for you guys.

    I love the concept of Math U See and we used Primer. When we moved up to Alpha my daughter didn't like the repetitiveness of the worksheets. I'm the type where if it's in the book we have to do it (hopefully I'll be to break this), so now we are trying Zearn along with the Eureka practice pages.

      The one great thing about having a public teacher background is that I knew we would never get to everything in a book. LOL. But I can be a really hard habit to overcome. You feel like you're going to skip something important. I've been there. LOL

    Its been a couple years but I'm pretty sure MUS Alpha covers addition and subtraction.

      It's been a few years for me as well. I double checked and you are correct! Alpha covers both addition and subtraction. Thanks for catching that!

    Do you report to any school so they check their progress? Or how do you keep records of their grades?

    • @Homeschoolology
      @Homeschoolology  6 місяців тому +1

      In the state of Florida we have to maintain a portfolio and have it review each year by a certified teacher. So yes, I keep samples of work and a record of what we do. I have two videos on my process for that here:
      ua-cam.com/video/Tw7K5AZefTM/v-deo.html

    And I’m right here not know what any of that means 😂😂😂 alpha, mus, mwc????

    • @Homeschoolology
      @Homeschoolology  6 місяців тому +2

      MUS is Math U See. They do there levels using the greek alphabet, so level 1 or grade 1 is called Alpha, level 2 or grade 2 is called Beta, etc.
      MWC is Math with Confidence.
      The abbreviations do get confusing! Hopefully that helps. LOL
