- Another video in the series of Bad/Odd Racing Games! I was really excited to try this out because I never played it prior, but also because a few people on Instagram had good things to say about it. Definitely has it's charm and does a lot of things very well, but has a pretty big fault. Overall, worth playing!

This was the game of my childhood. Space mountain and the haunted mansions were so well crafted. I still remember that secret shortcut through the fireplace in haunted mansion
I was so impressed by how well put together this game was, I feel like the video really doesn't do the tracks justice. I really liked that there were so many shortcuts throughout the game, it seemed like on the Pirates track you could go a different route on every lap.
This game definitely 💯 deserves a remaster/remake.
Just play Speedstorm.

I really really loved this game, I always find myself singing the maps' songs and thinking about the magic kingdom or the pirate ship. I loved the Lagoon! Definitely needs a remake!
I think the Lagoon was my favorite! Such a great layout with colors that pop. Really all of the tracks were pretty great

This is an interesting game concept! I actually had a student write an essay on this game, which makes this review even more intriguing for me!
Also, I don't know how I missed watching this for so long - I'm chalking it up to a combination of a LOT going on in my life and UA-cam's algorithm being, well, UA-cam's algorithm. Either way, I'm sorry, and I'm glad I watched it now
lol all good man! That is pretty interesting that your student wrote an essay about it, was it favorable? The game does so many things well, it's really outstanding, but is brutally hard. I saw that this was on the Dreamcast too and the graphics look significantly better from videos I saw, I'll have to try to source a copy if it's cheap enough.
@@smashedbrothersgaming234 I can't get into too many specifics for obvious reasons, but the essay did say that it was well done, but also blatant in what it was trying to do in terms of marketing the Disney brand.
I would be very interested in seeing a review of the DC version if/when you do it!

The character roster of this game sucks and that takes away even more of the fun factor of this game, at least it's on Dreamcast so it's somewhat a bit better.
Agreed, I don’t know why they chose to do this. Not sure if there was some agreement at the time with Nintendo for Mickey’s Speedway? Dreamcast is definitely the preferred version
This looks like a straight CTR rip-off, down to the character icons, the drifting/driving mechanics, the camera at the start...down to the fonts, icons and track icon used. It's almost like a re-skin!
I definitely was getting CTR vibes playing it. Obviously, Crash did it better. They were released only months apart from each other so I'm not sure how much inspiration they were able to take from CTR.
yo love and adore both for different reasons, CTR is top tier. But having revisited this since my childhood, ah I love. @@smashedbrothersgaming234
