Sometimes you get positively surprised by discovering new music. This song is one of those gems ! We are Parquet Courts fans from now on !
Straight into my Parquet Courts Top Ten. Getting a bit of a Free Range (The Fall) vibe from the bassline.
God knows I love "Free Range" and was eager to credit it for inspiration, but I have to admit to not really hear a very close resemblance... but I do hear a broader Fall vibe especially in the chorus (and especially in its bassline).

You guys have been making music for a long time now, but I only recently discovered the band. It's been a heavy rotation since, and it's definitely one of my all-time favorites. Wide Awake & Sympathy For Life have become the soundtrack of my waking hours, and I've been doing a deep dive into all your other offerings of the last dozen years. I hope to someday soon be a smiling unmasked face in the crowd dancing to your tunes. Thanks for all the joy you've brought me in these trying times.

I heard this the first time while more than half asleep at 4 am in the Radio. I dreamt a whole video to that song in bed. This is just about the funkiest tune they've done yet. Reminds me a bit of early 90's Primal Scream? Has a kinda nice minor key punky feel to little bits I think. Big fan, sounds like I still am.

This song/video is underappreciated
Really great video!! I feel that it really captures that feeling of a summer's night in NYC...how you never know what you might see or encounter... I liked paying attention to Every Single Clip in the video...the speed of it...the tiny bursts or clips...that's what it's actually like walking the streets...it's visual and aural overload...you often only get these milliseconds of experiences, and then there's something else to attract your eyes or ears.
I also loved the witty way of obscuring people's faces with the black squiggle. ;-)
