Best thumping tutorial I've watched. Great breakdown of the concepts and super well explained.
Best thumping tutorial I've seen. Thank you so much. If you don't also play some violin, you might enjoy giving it a try...you'll grasp the mechanics quicker than anyone because of your insights into how the body helps to make your sound. Thanks again brother -
Thanks! Glad it was useful for you. I would love to try violin if I got my hands on one. It definitely helps to have a general understanding of the mechanics for learning stuff when picking up similar hobbies.
All the best
Abasi on damage control
Thank you, good sir, you're a lifesaver
I think your video is best addititon to Tosin's videos; you making things much clearer than Tosin) It's feels like live lesson with teacher!
What a huge compliment as that is my goal! It has always bugged me how convoluted this stuff seems to be based on what is out there. So glad I can help!
@@eightmetalstrings someday i will show what i've reached based on your channel) waiting for custom 30inch flat scale 8 string full ash guitar, and will use your lessons. Big thanks for your work!
Man, I enjoy your videos so much
Great tutorial ❤
Amazing! I appreciate it. Glad you're getting some use out of them.
I’ve watched over 10 videos about this and your’s finally corrected the issues I was having.
Hey, that's what I like to hear. Glad to be of service. Out of curiosity, what was giving you an issue?
@@eightmetalstrings Using my thumb for the thumping. I was doing it unconsciously. And knuckling properly for plucking with my other fingers. Other videos never talked about it, so I could never figure out where my issues were. I mostly thump on bass, so these insights actually helped me with bass.
You can also wear a strap while sitting. And sit on the edge of the seat.
Thumb + Index, Bro basicely played Bleed :O
😂
I been looking at and 8 string and Technique and theory about it
Unfortunately, there really isn't much at all out there. That's why I'm making all of this stuff! A lot of my videos have free pdf's you are welcome to download to start working on some things. :) And thanks for the sub!
and what about right hand muting
I wouldn't say it's impossible if you absolutely need to do some muting and there is no other way, but for me it's not worth the effort and pain in the wrist. I also don't see really anyone else doing it.
If you need to do some muting, I recommend checking out muting techniques of bass players that have been tried and tested for decades where you use your left hand fingers to lightly touch the strings right next to the fretted note.
Hope that helps!
What would be and good eight 8 string guitar for beginners and like clean tones and chords
I guess that really depends on your price point. There are very few 8-strings under $1000 (cad) from what I can tell. What price are you looking for?
I'm new to the 8 string party as well. If you want cleans, check into Rob Scallon's signature C-8 by Schecter. That guitar is what really got me interested in getting an 8 string to begin with. I've seen them used for around $1200. I almost got one, but went with their MS SLS Evil Twin, which is a more "metal" C-8 version. Rob's vid on his signatures: ua-cam.com/video/-H_E8MGTHiY/v-deo.html
