Especiall wheh they already have animals in the kitchen, with their hair flying everywhere. The people often touch the animals and without watching their hands, go right back to touching the food. At first as I was working thru this recipe with u I began to stress out over the fact u didn’t measure half ur ingredients out, lol. I am a stickler for measurements when I cook. So I kinda decided to create the measurements I felt I wanted for this. The only thing I kinda ended up winging was the buttermilk to get it all to the right consistency. It baked up perfectly and may I say it was some of the best cornbread I have ever tasted! Thk u so much for sharing such a straight from the heart recipe it was perfection! I can’t wait to try some of ur other recipes ❤

As a little bit girl I had to make homemade cornbread all the time!So I memorized the recipe! We are in Texas down here we always use yellow cornmeal, but we use 2 çups of çormeal with 1 cup of flour everything else seemß àbout right from my memory! We had to do this because there was no cornbread mix when I was growing up!🤔😉😊

I love cornbread and sweet milk and I am going to have to try it with buttermilk my moma just used regular milk in the cornbread and I have been using buttermilk and I think it comes out more fluffier and don't want to go back to regular milk and it is best when it is hot Thank you for your recipes

My granny in here 80's she always used cornmeal MIX , only thing she needed to add was milk eggs butter or oil , milk or buttermilk and sugar the cornmeal MIX had all the baking agents in it

That recipe is similar to mine, but I usually use sugar and a bit of salt instead of the honey. I dump the honey on when it’s done :) I also put my fat in an iron skillet, heat it up in the oven while I fix the batter, pour the hot oil in the batter, then the batter into the left over hot oil in the skillet. It fries the crust, abd is delicious!
