I bought the large. I measure 42" around my chest and the L was perfect and had room for a base layer and mid layer. Removing the rain liner takes about 10 minutes with the zippers and reinstalling the thermal liner.
Performance wise, this thing is definitely more warm than either my Sedici or Klim Dakar; it is also noticeably heavier. Saturday night, rode with a 100% wool base layer, cotton flannel mid layer, wool gaiter, the temperature was just above 50˚F and we were cruising at 85 mph dealing with a 15 mph cross wind then we turned into it so it was a 15 mph head wind. I was plenty warm and comfortable. Previously, that same ride, the previous week (without the headwind) I was chilled to the bone wearing the Sedici or the Klim; which is why I was looking for something warmer. Bike is a Ducati Diavel with a small windscreen, not much protection from the wind. This is a well made jacket, worth the price. Love the free shipping to the USA.

I would recommend that before buying any clothing, you should be a little careful here, since they offer a two-year warranty, some clothing, of course, like the one I bought +4 years of warranty, which is six years in total but the clothes do not last not even two years and the guarantee that they give you is supposedly two years if water gets into your 900 pound rukka brand pants when you send it to the guarantee they say that the guarantee does not cover it for use with only one year and six months that neither the two years nor the six years nor totally for me a fraud that the warranty says that it covers something and they wash their hands saying that due to use, the warranty does not cover it. so be very careful that the videos are very nice in that they sell you the very nice product but when it comes to the problem they wash away. The hand can lose their money very easily and they don't care about anything you tell them and you are totally deceived.

How do you think it would do in Arkansas in the summer at 95 deg and 90% humidity? I'm worried it might run too hot. If not this, then can you suggest a more appropriate RST jacket for hot and humid?

I think this would be good in those weather conditions if you want this length. You'd get more airflow from an RST Adventure-X, though it costs more. If you are happy with a waist-length jacket, the RST Ventilator-X will give more airflow as there are sections of mesh on the front. Links to those reviews...

I was very impressed as soon as i saw the jacket. I found the sizing come up a lot larger then my other jackets. I normal buy a Xl to give me a little extra room for extra layers but a medium fitted perfectly. Im only 5'4 and found the trousers were a no go they were way to long and they don't come in a shorter length. 🎉

Does this have pockets for chest armour?
I know the RST Ranger has chest armour included from trying it on in-store but it doesn't mention anything about that on their website. So I have found RST to be annoying for not giving you all the information about their products.

There are no pockets for chest armour in the Maverick Evo. Take your point about the Ranger description on RST's website. Chest armour is mentioned in their video on the listing page, but not on the text description or specification. Odd. I've just checked and our product listing for the Ranger refers to the chest armour in both description and specification. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony

My Klim Dakar jacket is Large and my Sedici lined jacket is XL
I usually buy a large, do these run true to size or smaller than expected like Sedici?

The shop guys here in Boston say they'd expect you to want an XL in RST if you're a large in Klim. I hope that helps. Cheers, Tony

I've got both the jacket and trousers. Really versatile if a little bit of faff to change the layers, but way better than making a laminated jacket work on warm days purely with vents.
I would say size UP though.

I also used a Furygan D30 level 2 back pad not the bulkier RST one.
