Love this anime and the soundtrack. Especially this piece, it really gives of the feeling of going off on a grand journey/adventure and all the new and exciting experiences.
Evan Call is on a totally different level, along with legends like Joe Hisaishi and Yoko Kanno, every soundtrack he composes is an incredible experience, able to be enjoyed by itself.
I'm not a big fan of LOTR (I watched and enjoyed the movies, but they never stuck with me the way they mean so much to others), but the Hobbit/Shire theme is just so undeniably good. As much as I love Frieren, as much as I was predisposed to love the anime adaptation before it aired, I never imagined I'd find myself humming Journey of a Lifetime the same way I hum the Hobbit theme, the main theme, and even the Misty Mountains song lol (I watched your Zoltraak reaction too, and it's really funny how well the Spirit Tracks bgm fits in)
Thanks for the support!!!! And I agree!! The OST of Lotr and the Hobbit composed by Howard Shore has many similarities to Evan Call's themes, and the anime has many similarities with Tolkien's universe😁 (Edit: Really love Zelda music)
This show reminds me a bit of the 4th age of LotR. Almost all elves have left (so to speak), humans dominate the lands, very few dwarves are around on the surface, few "Orcs" are still present but the world's mostly peaceful and the music is similar at times. The (human/demon) magic is one of the main big differences to the LotR 4th age I'd say.
Por favor reacciona también al tema de Frieren The Slayer, que es básicamente la otra cara de la protagonista, un tema que refleja lo temible de una maga milenaria🧐

"Time flows ever onward" is another banger

@pablorivadeneyra1105 it is not without reason that Frieren is said to be the successor to Tolkien's legendarium
