I truly love that series of lore notes. The fact that they stopped counting the days and just wrote Day ?? for later entries was powerful. And then the ominous final line "the rest of the text is impossible to make out"....chilling!
@@DzapperGaming Yeah, I also do love how they conveyed with words slow and inevitable losing of human self which the hero of the notes experienced. This somehow reminded me "Flower for Algernon".
I love Grim Dawn. Need to replay it, but am waiting for the new expansion. Two lore bits that I still remember: 1) The frozen pass cannibalism family, in 3 notes. 2) The whole fall of Arkovia and how being turned undead really works and felt to millions of people. Both are really vivid, tragic, and horrifying.
The one that stuck with me is that one from the guy that got in a fight with his wife, bought her some flowers, then got killed before he ever had a chance to deliver them. ... I think I'm missing a few details there, but that's the gist of it. I seem to remember it being near a wagon somewhere in the dermapterran region.
The creepiest notes in the game is IMO the Trip South series. I used to translate them, that was a memorable experience.

Great video! I mostly skip through the lore, but maybe I should try reading it my next playthrough...
Looking forward to your lore videos and gameplay!
Thank you! Definitely more coming, planning a build video for my primal strike Druid I'm playing in this video!
Just further proof that the witch gods aren't good either.
