Episode 21! Stoked all of you are with us on this journey!
You made the music for us to follow big big thanks
Thank you for all of the music over 40 years. Long live Anthrax! 🤘🇦🇺
It's an honour, you guys helped me through some dark times 🙏🏼 Fan for Life 🤘🏼
Amazing episode. Legitimately the best music documentary ever.
Really enjoying this series!
THIS HAS TO COME OUT AS ONE BIG MOVIE!!! PLUS DELETED SCENES AND EVERYTHING THAT IS AVAILABLE... THIS RULES!!!
100% agree!
I look forward to each episode, I really think I’ll be sad when it’s over
HELL YEAH!
Yeah, this is up there with Centuries of Torment by Cannibal Corpse in terms of an in-depth metal band history. Needs a full release maybe with some live cuts from the eras.
@@AaronWilbers TOTALLY AGREED!!! IN FACT, I DID NOT LIKE CANNIBAL CORPSE BUT LOVED THAT DOCUMENTARY AND THE BAND LIVE, SO I BOUGHT IT... YEARS LATER, LOVE THE BAND AND I´M A FAN... HOPE THEY DO THE SAME TREATMENT!!!
"We've Come For You All" was stuck in my CD player for a solid 18 months in its release. I was running an old CD Warehouse in Port Charlotte. Nu Metal was huge at that time in our area but of all the one-hit wonders and all the stuff that was coming out at that time, Anthrax's "We've Come For You All" got so much damn plan in my store and my car. To this day I have a hard time listening to this record without listening to it from track 1 all the way through Track 11....
Also the hundreds of CDs I sold by playing it in the store. When you run a small retail music store that doesn't force you to play top 40 junk and you can play whatever you want, that is how you drive a record. It starts at the grassroots movement...
Thats how good WCFYA it is. One of my top 5 favorite Anthrax.
Underrated album for sure , and people dont realize how good something is until they actually listen to it.
It’s my 3rd fave with Among and Spreading
This series has been a great gift and highlight for me! Since it started I have been listening along with each episode!
That's a great idea
I am with you man!
No other band makes me feel like they are as much of a fan of everything as I am. I feel like I could end up next to Anthrax in a movie theater or concert.
Nice to see Paul Crock get acknowledged. He was really instrumental in getting Anthrax through this period of their career. I was disappointed when they replaced him.
Thank you so much... Yes, I feel we got some good work done without any money to spend.
@@PaulCrookMusic dude you were the unsung hero and did so much for the band during that time. Good to see you get acknowledged for it ! Your playing was awesome with them live !! Keep on rockin ! 🤘🏻
@@TheMissMindyShow holy crap.. such an incredibly supportive thing to say. Thank you so much! Really...
@@PaulCrookMusicPaul your solo on Random Acts … is so creative and killer . I was happy when Guitar Magazine tabbed ! Thanks for the inspiration on that
I've been loving these episodes.
Back in 2001 I emailed Scott Ian to wish the band well and to tell him I hope they didn't have to change their name. He was kind enough to respond, which I thought was really cool of him.
Every time I see ‘next’ at the end of each episode I breathe a little sigh of relief. This has been the best documentary I’ve seen in a very long time and I don’t want it to end! 20 years to go…
Scott is such a good storyteller....this is fun.
The Bush/Crook/Ian/Benante/Bello lineup and those 2 albums was and is MY Anthrax - still to this day!
ANTHRAX,New York's finest!!!!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🗽
I was part of the emergency response to the attack on NYC on September 11th. I've been almost a life long fan of Anthrax. I can't thank Eddie Trunk, and the guys for doing that show. It was definitely a shot in the arm we all needed. One of the greatest nights of my life.
ESU COOL U.S.M.C.
That must have been at least a small mental boost during what was the greatest atrocity not only for NYC, but for all of America. Thanks for going into the belly of the beast.
@@mikesutton2597 this is a series of video about their career… and that show is a highlight of that period. Important is so many ways. What kind of A**hole doesn’t understand that and need to say a stupid comment like that.
That would have been so up and down emotionally!
I never thought we could have so many episodes. Love it.
really glad they did this series...
This was the time I first started listening to anthrax. First ticket I ever got I was 16 listening to we’ve come for you all album and ran a red light right in front of a motorcycle cop
What a great story. I was guitarist in a death metal band in the heyday of the FL/DM scene and we covered Medusa, I am the Law and Madhouse. I put alot of NY/HC sound into my playing mainly due to my influence from Anthrax, SOD and Agnostic Front, among others. Scott wrote some of the best metal riffs of all time. I loved Anthrax in the 80's but I stopped listening to them when they changed their musical style in the early/mid 90's. Still a great group of guys and talented musicians. Thankfully, for my tastes, they play mostly the old thrash/mosh songs when I've seen them on stage in more recent years.
I was at New York Steel 🤘
Anthrax has brought me happiness and enjoy for over 30 plus years.
I saw that 2000 tour. Fu Manchu and chevelle opened for em.
Fu Manchu blew me away I still love anthrax. That show shifted my musical perspective
Saw them in Allentown PA at a small club on this tour, I was right at the stage in front of Scott, was a wild show, They had the "not changing our name" jump suits on for a few songs, it was on sept 6th a few nights before 9/11 happened. What a rollercoaster of a week that was. 🗽
Fun to watch Anthrax go full fanboy. Dammit Paul!, You had one job!
HAHAHAHHAHAH!!! Awesome...
@@PaulCrookMusic AND WHAT WAS THE MISTAKE CARPENTER MADE???
@@juanlagos6982 Thank you for the question... I obviously misspoke my thought to Mr Carpenter... I was referencing the timing of the 1/8 notes in the 5/4 lick. I remember reading about how he used a stopwatch as a click track when recording the score. The timing isn't perfect which obviously creates incredible tension. I was trying to point out the brilliance of the imperfection. I simply didn't speak it correctly.
I’d like to add that the Carpenter mention here is hysterical to me - NOW - and it is fun to talk about stuff like this.
What isn’t mentioned is that Mr. Carpenter liked a bunch of my creative ideas. One in particular... If you look at the 1:54 mark you notice Mr. Carpenter nodding with positive intent. His head action is directed at me for a guitar part I created, not the drum part that the Anthrax editing team created here...
Here is the actual footage: ua-cam.com/video/DkVBmSh-pCk/v-deo.html
Also, the main riff in this song was composed by Charlie and myself. I had this rolling type of riff that repeated in odd-time. Charlie evened it out, which in my opinion, made it even cooler!!! This is the riff you now hear.
Saying all of this... I came across like a total douche-canoe... thinking now... I’m amazed the guys in ANTHRAX didn’t take me out back and beat the shit out of me. Seriously...
Man, Ghost Of Mars. I remember seeing that movie when I was a kid before I knew anything about Anthrax or Metal in general. Don't remember much. I need to watch it again.
carpenter gave up movies to make albums we totally need an anthrax/carpenter album. anthrax with horror synths!
If John Carpenter and Anthrax would be a dream collaboration. I can only imagine the dark-synthy-heaviness of it.
I wish the next episode would come out right now
Watching these episodes are great. This is my favorite era of Anthrax. And I will say I never really thought about Paul Crook being such an important part of Anthrax. But he has come across as a well spoken really thoughtful guy. Definitely one of the biggest surprises of these episodes.
Wow... thank you so much! Very kind words here.
@@PaulCrookMusic 👍 fyi Bush era is my favorite era and I think I took for granted your contributions. Thanks for all that you did during those years.
@@KevinWendland wow... I really appreciate your words here. They really mean a lot to me.
Social media wasn’t around when I was working with the guys. I’m really enjoying the connection with fans like you here. Thank you, again, very much!
I've been a fan since '90 when I first heard State of Euphoria as a 15-year old. Until then I never had a band that I could both identify with musically and enjoy non-stop and that hasn't changed in 31 years.
While your music has changed over the years the style is still there - that pounding, stomping, hardcore beat that drives every song whether it's fast or slow. Not everything is a hit but every song resonates with someone ("I'm Alive" has been my phone's ringtone since it came out 10 years ago!). And I agree with Brian Posehn when he said that you haven't laid an egg of a record. I can start at Fistful and finish at For All Kings and want to go back and re-listen.
Can't wait to see you guys at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival in September!
Anthrax!!
🤘Gosh I love this album! The Nu Metal stuff had made metal blah to me. I was bummed. This album came in and gave me hope! The tunes and production are amazing.
I do love that the episodes are kept to a 15-20 minute time span…
I remember around this time we went to see Anthrax at The Chance in Poughkeepsie. We got to meet the band for a minute after the show because we were with Robs cousin. Everyone was cool as hell.
Love this album. Loved the tour. Bush is GOAT. Bush sang all periods and albums and slayed them...Joey really only sings his stuff.
Omg, I thought I was the only person who heard the wrong note being hit in the Halloween theme song!
During the whole anthrax scare I sent my Anthrax tapes and CDs through inter office mail envelopes to people I worked with which seemed funny and outrageous in the face of darkness, just like Anthrax. Plus then everyone blasted Anthrax in the office.
Scott Ian really dropped the ball on the suits with him not wearing the "NOT" in "We're NOT changing our name"
This period is when Scott and Charlie were very active on their old website, which I think helped. I was totally into it and relished their writings (Alpha Mail and Blast Beat). I miss those days.
I remember that ! I gotta say I couldn't contain the fangirl in me when they replied to my emails !
I remember those days. Also the Anthrax message board. I'll always remember when they had the countdown to the reunion with Joey, Danny and Frank in 2005. Frank had been out of the band for a bit and Joey Vera was playing bass. Glad I saw them on the reunion tour. Amazing show.
@@SuperStrik9 Me, I was friends with the founders of the RBC, the Reunion Bashing Club.

@@SuperStrik9 Nope, Rob Caggiano certainly didn't think so
This series has been one of the highlights of being in Lockdown. Its really stoked me for Anthrax again.
Legit question...
Who is still in lockdown?
Exciting times. I loved Anthrax back in the first half of the nineties, but I never got to see them live. I had a copy of Volume 8, but was not listening to the band in the way I used to. Clearly things were heading back in the right direction for everyone in the early 00s... I saw them live for the first time in late 2002, supporting Motorhead at Wembley. What a night! I still have my t-shirt from that show, with the We're Not Changing Our Name band picture on the back. All of a sudden Anthrax were one of my favourite bands again, and that was before we heard the new record!
This to me was the rebirth . I got tickets to see them on maximum rock tour . Then they got dropped from tour right before the show . I got the tix to see Anthrax , it was a real bummer. I got to see them live later on so its cool .Paul & Rob are good guys , great episode .
Next WCFYA 🤘🏻
Thank you very much!!! I realize you didn’t have to say these nice words about Rob & I... very cool. For me... yes, Rob kicks ass. Great guy from a great family.
@@PaulCrookMusic 🤘🏻
Same thing happened to us. They got kicked off the tour right before it got it Nashville. I was so pissed. Fuck Motley Crue!

WCFYA..Great comeback album
Finally caught up to every episode…
Been a lifelong fan since discovering Among The Living in 1987 at the age of 14.
One of the highlights of playing drums was being able to be one of the local support bands for Anthrax (Fu Manchu, Chevelle, The Unband were also on that tour) on the Detroit date of that January/February 2 month tour at Harpo’s, January of 2000. Charlie and John signed everything that I had brought to the show with me. Chatted with them for a bit after the show. A great time!
Where did Charlie get those black and white Kiss pics? I love them. This has been a great series thus far. The John Bush era rules!
My first concert was anthrax and my last concert was anthrax 20 years later. Joey or John didn't matter cuz they rock period end of story. You can't go wrong with any one of their albums. Love the series!!!!! BTW.....S.O.D. RULES!!!!!!!!
Also Anthrax40 and I turn 50 this month fantastic month
Happy birthmonth!
Great stuff.
The worst thing about all of this is the wait until the next episode.
In late 2001 I got a call from my pissed off dad who complained about searching for anthrax on the Internet, and the 1st dozen results were for the band. I was not surprised, but I still cackled which pissed him off even more. 2 days ago I searched for anthrax full documentary, and I got these excellent segments.
I had the "We're Not Changing Our Name" poster. 🤘💀
I was at the Scranton show of the Motley/Megadeth tour but unfortunately by that time, Anthrax was off the tour. I did finally see them for the first time with Bush opening for Priest with Ripper two years later in Philly. Great show. I remember Frankie and I mouthing the words to “Room For One More” with each other.
Guys these have been such killer videos. I love you guys.
Jay Jay hit it on the head
I’m absolutely loving this series!
I was at that tour with anthrax, megadeath, and Motley Crue. our seats were in the middle of the venue. We manage to sneak our way to the front. Anthrax opened and I love the bush era plus got to hear inside out was euphoria for me, Megadeth came on did a amazing set…. Then Motley Crue headlined. Should of left after megadeth.
Indeed. And it's a strange package. But Anthrax needed the money at that point...
Seats at a metal gig? I've never seen the like.
@@shiftyfitter amphitheater. The floor had none.
Finally, Frank Bello,s voice is in stereo.
“We had only been leasing our name” how freaking apt is that? Brilliant.
:) nice shirts guys
Who Is Not Man~ Ozzy much!!! Never Die Man!!! Love You Guys!!!!!
That picture of anthrax/the thing is the greatest picture I have ever seen
I remember at the time of 9/11 they were in NYC making WCFYA, and with all that happened it was pushed back. They did some touring in 2002 - I saw them in Milwaukee in Feb., open for Priest. Anthrax blew them off the stage. They played a new song, Superhero.
Paul is wonderful and so is Rob. Love them both so damn much!
Awesome
My favorite band making music for my favorite filmmaker. Unreal.
Can’t tell you guys how much I look forward to these videos.
I have not missed one episode.Im waiting patiently for the notification to Pop up. Oh my God I freaking love these guys 🤘
I can't imagine what a blast that would have been working with John C...I would have been completely stoked as well bc of The Thing, Halloween, & Escape from NY....good for you guys!! Thanks for this series too...I been there w Anthrax since "Spreading" in '85 & thanks for all your music. You guys have always delivered 👍🤘
My personal favorite album.
Every time the road trip is becoming a grind press play.

So far the most emotional episode - thank you guys for having been part of my youth
I look forward to these videos Big time (as I'm also keeping an eye out for the delivery van bringing the Among graphic novel) Anthrax is in my heart and soul as one of my favorite bands ever. Music is a universal language and brings so much joy. Thank you 'Thrax for everything!
This series is one of the best going…. Ever. Thank You for sharing this with your fans. Love you guys. 🤘🏼
Jaws , Stevan Spielberg, and The Thing , John Carpenters .. damn great movie.
And I love Anthrax, they have the best attitudes and they're just great
You know what, for the live stream they’re doing. I bet John makes an appearance for some songs.
Really hope this happens.
Man oh man am I hooked on this episodes. So fucking hooked. As much as I loved The Last Dance (because I'm a Chicago guy), I think I might be more hooked on this because of the sheer affect they had on my soul personally. Well done fellas.
I love this series..Sad it will end soon..The part about 9/11 was very emotional..Being from Louisiana we felt it down here, and all over the country..I have family in N.Y,I'll never forget where and what I was doing as it was happening.Glad u guys are still here, especially in a time where u see 1/2 the members n bands going out under the same banner..Horns up🤘🤘🤘
Not much to add here that I haven't said in other comments except "Holy crap this is one of the best music documentaries ever". The only other UA-cam based documentary that had me anxious for the next episode like this when Secret Base/SB Nation did the one on the Mariners last year. I love well done stuff like this!
HOLY SHIT, think about an end playing at the end of the video got me goosebumps. WCFYA best Anthrax album.
Killer song, the entire album is amazing
Absolute terrific series.

Thx for doing these episodes, really looking forward to the next episode, give Darryl props!!!!
More more and more of this🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻👏👏👏👏🥁🇨🇦🇨🇦
Mentioning the title of the Movie " Ghosts Of Mars" would have been a good idea and could have helped John out since the movie bombed...Some people like myself enjoy those cheesy sci fi movies...and sometimes this is how we find those lost cheesy gems.. But i guess maybe there is a reason you didn't mention it?
A very good reason: I forgot to render out the movie title over the clip. Whoops!
God that movie was bad...
Every Carpenter film 'bombs', then it's rented into legendary status.
It wasn't a horrible movie. Not his greatest film for certain, but it was fun and had a great cast. I had no idea that Anthrax did the music for it, I just figured John made it himself on a PC.

Well this was very enjoyable and educational in reference to the bands history.
Don't let the Bastards grind you down
There was another band called Anthrax in the late sixties early seventies. The record company forced them to call themselves 'formally' Anthrax. Their LP is called Show Of Hands which was written on the sleeve in such a way as to give people the idea that the bands name was Show of Hands the band actually changed to that name to save confusion.
Saw you guys at Glasgow Garage with John jumping from up high into crowd on this album. Totally amazing gig we still talk about it intense and mind blowing. Great docu series
i was at that benefit show. Ace Frehley kicked ass that night! . . . i always think anthrax stand out from the rest of the big 4 because in essence they are positive. slayer are dark, megadeth are technical, metallica are driven, and anthrax are positive. all of them are powerful and their music will always endure. i love this series. thx anthrax.
love the name never loose it.
Funny that they mention Rob and food. I met him, Charlie, and John after a show in St. Louis back in 2003. There were some of the crew grilling outside and Rob offered me a hot dog.
Man from a guy from Lafayette Louisiana. You were always like guys i would look up 2. Yall played Baton Rouge 2 years ago. the only time i saw yall. Man i was mind blowed away.
In 99 „Attack of the Killer As“ with a Song both Joey and John singing came out.
I loved Scotts Signature Jackson's at this point. that was a cool guitar. pretty sure he had one with all the simpson's characters on it too! Those were cool Scott!
