Thank God for you. It's like you know what questions I have and answer them immediately as they pop up. I have been trying to find a trustworthy source comparing these models and how to configure them and it has been so overwhelming.
Everything sounds great. A nice tip for you. When gluing, use saran wrap around the plane to hold it together. If you can find a shorter roll, cut it in half. You're welcome.
Wow I'm loving this wing soooo much. Would love to fly one, going to have to start saving my pennies and will. Buy of course from Your links! Great review all my best
Hahahahaha... once a year, when the grass becomes tall enough, some guy comes along, mows it down, gathers all of it to feed some cows, and we don't see him until same time next year! :)
Regarding your comments on Gary's podcast today, there is something wacky about the current sensor setup in Mission Planner on the main 'wizard' page, I have given up on that completely. Try setting the AMPS_PER_VOLT (or something like that) value in the full parameters list directly.
Hmmmmmm... that is a good tip... when I muster up the courage... I will give it a try! Am about to install the F405 Wing in the Clouds... got any idea what AMPS_PER_VOLT should be on that FC, or where I can find that out?
Well... I would like to... but sadly at this time it is a bit outside of the scope of my hobby budget... and there are a few other more pressing matters to fund... so at this point I can't tell you when I will be able to!
Hahahahahahaha, no issues of the sort here... sadly money at the time are tied up elsewhere... might pick up one 2nd hand at some point... if at all available in my country ever!
Excellent video, look forward to the gimbal addition, looks like a great mapping platform, does the mfd flight controller work well with mission planner?
@@ArxangelRC My eve 2000 was very heavy. It constantly broke down when landing on the field. I made a vtol. But MFD with a heavy battery can be landed on a parachute..I think this will save him.
I don't know... I would prefer it be a VTOL to a parachute... that thing induces quite the shock to the plane... and I have seen things go wrong with it at our flying field!
Well... not sure, doubt it given that it has more surface area to create drag... BUT... it can carry a lot more battery capacity, which in the end might do just that!
Maybe people complain because they do launch with one hand and the thickness just adds drag when theres no need. Probably part of the reason that the efficiency suffers a bit too. The old Twinstar 2 can run for 90 minutes on 4S2P with a gopro on the nose too. That's a lot less battery for the same amount of flight time! The Crosswind Mini is still a good plane though.
OK... but can the Twinstar carry any useful payload? Sadly at this day and ago a plane of this size can hardly afford to not also be designed for mapping, especially coming from a company that now has a history of such models! With all these regulations coming into effect... mapping capability would be a major selling point in the future, because that would be the main thing these are used for... since not all people would be willing to get licences, pay for registration and insurance... just to fly FPV with a plane!
hello arxangel I need help setting up all the electronics on my crosswind mini. I have already built it and installed the 2 motors and I also have all wires ran through the wire channels. when I initially connected everthing and turned the power on for the first time there was no sparks or smoke. the esc's would just constantly beep ever few secs. I have the auto pilot and everything that was included with it, I have a Tarantis transmitter w/ a r9stab reciever. I have a regular o fpv camera nothing special. as well as a small low power video vtx. I would really appreciate if you could help me get this thing In the air. thanks
Hope you get this message, as your video post was a long time ago...I just bought an MFD Crosshair Autopilot, setting it up for analog camera FPV. I would like to transition to digital (DJI HD) camera system. Do you know if this will work with the MFD Crosshair? Have you tried it? You are the only FPV pilot I can find that has used the most recent MFD Crosshair AP. Thank you!
@@ArxangelRC Used motor 4114 on the big oktokopter and t motor 3113 on the hexacopter, just thought that suddenly a miracle will happen and Racerstar will be on a level with the t motor ))) miracles do not happen
Weeeeell... hardly a miracle! There is a reason why one costs as much... and the build quality is there... at least I can clearly see it! It is hard to judge if there are any performance gains because they are not the same Kv ratings... so it is hard to compare!
i had to come here to see this video and the Believers one again, I am getting ready to maiden my Believer on Pixhawk 2.4.8, do they both sort of fly the same?
Hard to say! This is a smaller plane... easier to throw in the air! In terms of flight stability... this one is a tad better... but the Believer is very good as well!
CG is right at the front edge of the wiring channel! As for battery weight... that would depend on a number of factors - weight of gear you have chosen, weight of FPV system, weight of additional payload! Currently I am using a 900 gram 6S3P pack, and the plane is good weight wise. There is no minimum weight, as long as you are able to balance it at the CG!
Hey dude, I’m sorry but this question isn’t really relevant. I’m currently installing the old MFD Autopilot and am working on the current sensor. In the manual it says that you should connect the ground leads as close to each other on the current sensor as possible, because the current sensor strip which is used for the ground leads would burn through at >20A (Highlighted in the manual). But it also says there that this is without enhancing the strip with solder. So my question is, is it possible to enhance that strip with solder so that I can connect 2 xt60 connectors on either end of the current sensor without having to solder my esc to the current sensor and without it burning through?
I have been building and flying long range fpv drones for a while now and want to get into planes. What would a good plane for long range flights be? This will be my first time flying planes so preferably one that flies good and takes off easy. I would also like a minimum of 45-60 minute flight. What do you recommend. Zohd xl?
Hmmm... not really... in your case I would suggest something a bit tougher for those non-hover landings... the Ranger 2400 or Phoenix 2400 come to mind... both can be outfitted to fit your needs, and feature tough plastic fuselages. Especially the one on the Ranger is exceptionally resistant to abuse!
Hello! Im new in this hobby and Want to start flying fpv, What do you think is the best of parrot disco , mfd crosswind mini or talon gt? I like long range plane( like 10km). I know many use 4g in the disco but i Want to learn more about antenna and radio equipments.
Well except possibly for the Disco... none of the other planes are suitable for beginners to be honest! For starters you'd be much better off with a trainer type of plane, plus, you can learn all of what you want on it, before moving to something truly long range!
nice video, question thought, i've put the new telefly air unit in one aircraft, (without fc), but my voltage reading is wrong and just constantly climbs upwards. Any thoughts.
Yes, that is how it behaves if you don't have a voltage sensor connected to the sensor pads! I don't think it shows the input voltage at the 12v pin!

Hi... wish you a great weekend!!! Great video, thanks for sharing, we move on to the next challenge? Best regards ... What's new on my channel? A new video with the Volantex 757-3 ... a challenging flight despite the strong wind ... another big step for me ... you're always welcome !!!
Great flight and hobby!
Thank you! :)
You sure don't disappoint! Love your videos! This looks another amazing plane and I, for one, am looking forward to seeing your cloud videos.
Thanks mate, they will come as soon as I am done getting to know it, and sorting out the video antennas to allow me to get out further!
The Crosswind and Believer look nice. I can’t decide!
Well in case of the Crosswind Mini... it is a hard choice... the Believer is a larger plane, depends what you need it for!
Thank God for you. It's like you know what questions I have and answer them immediately as they pop up. I have been trying to find a trustworthy source comparing these models and how to configure them and it has been so overwhelming.

As always, another great video - Looks like this will by my next project...keep chasing those clouds!! 👍
Will do mate, thanks! :)

I am running 10" props on this one.

great review, now the you have this plane for a while what do you think is the best motors+props combination for efficency?
4s or 6s?
On this size I definitely prefer 6S! It is a bit more efficient, and lower currents!
Excellent video, look forward to the gimbal addition, looks like a great mapping platform, does the mfd flight controller work well with mission planner?
It works... but at this time it does have some limitations... so it will not do well for mapping missions sadly... at least not at this time!
Hi! How to install a parachute in an airplane with such a tail? This is not a V tail.
Honestly... I don't like parachutes... and I've never used or installed one... so I have absolutely NO idea how that would work!

Can you do a budget build so noob like me can get into the hobby?
Budget in what way? Gear on this plane... or budget gear on a budget plane?

Hey, so what seems to be the problem? The ESCs not initializing? What autopilot is this?
Hi..is it possible to get a vtol option for the mini crosswind.thanks
There have been prototypes, but it is way too heavy to be usable so MFD are not selling the parts to VTOL it!

Sofia, Bulgaria! :)
have you ever tried to recover the Crosswind during the summer? just curious...
Sadly no... have not found the time to get up there and look for it! Could still try to do it before winter comes!
Time to go do a Search and Rescue for the big brother!
Do a mapping plane and send it off on a mission to search

Did they fixed the tail issue what was with big one?
Yes, they did... and I actually lost it on the day I was testing the new tail! :D

Well... they do rattle more... not bad motors otherwise... but the T-motors are just smooooooth...
