My wife's YJ didn't have much room for a center console so I used 2 ammo boxes. A bigger on on the bottom and a smaller one on top, cut a hole in the bottom one near the front and put a cup holder in it. Worked out mint.
So, I believe the satisfaction for you is making what you have work, cause you could make anything perfect if you want to. It's not just the crazy metal skills, but you're the re-purpose master. Seeing what you've got, measuring the pros and cons and going with your gut, for better or worse. Listening to your logic is half the fun. And then somehow, it magically works. Design off the cuff. Very cool.
If you seem (grind) your glass harder, and leave no clear glass on the edge, it's way tougher. It's great that you attack cutting your own glass, it's pretty simple, and it shouldn't intimidate people. So it's great to see you doing it on your metal bench! It will give anyone watching the confidence to try it! Fantastic work! And thanks for sharing all your bush engineering, I love it!
Yup...You put the right seat , you take the left seat out, you do the hokey-pokey and you toss both of them out, and that's what its all about. Everything needs a tweaking, you made a better choice for sure. Brother too bad it broke after but you done an awesome job at cutting the laminated safety glass, this wasn't your first time.👍👍👍 Cutting that schit is never a sure thing on any given day, no guarantees its a 50/50 job, the crack can go off in any direction, but you took a piece of old used glass and made cutting it look easy . I worked with glass for many years and recognize experience when I see it. I'm more than impressed, keep up the great work.
I had a '51 Cornbinder L110 (1/2 ton) way back in the 70's, Made the front end "Flip" and put 67 Galaxie power leather buckets in it. Brings back memories 👍👍
Having the proper tools for the job always makes things easier. Having the correct laminate material when making templates for glass is extremely important. Haha. (The Coors box) lovin the truck man.
Back in 1969 I watched a glass shop cut a door glass and was very impressed by the way they took care of the laminate in the middle, they cut the glass the way you did then poured lighter fluid in the seam and lit it and it worked perfect
This truck looks so much longer than it actually is. It probably feels to you like it's taking forever because you see it every day, but it's coming together pretty fast.
Dammmn Brent. What a build you got going on. A master of his own craft. Love this truck more and more but the I think it's a 31 Ford or something truck is still my favorite. Keep on keeping on
You leave me in awe of the great job you are doing. It is the work of an authentic craftsman. congratulations. A very wise decision to install independent front seats, left and right, and eliminate the center seat. Have you considered the seats of a Town & country? On the other hand, it would be a good action to sandblast the entire truck, thus removing all the rust. What opinion do you deserve? Thanks again, for showing us your magnificent work, it is super entertaining to see how it evolves.
As usual, great job !! Thank you so much for taking the time to share with us !!! When the video first started, I thought you were waxing the hood !! Haha !! Keep up the great work and God bless you and yours !!!! Eddy
Factory made is all I can say.. Love the way that truck is coming like the way that back seat works my old chevy had same interior and liked the function. Ready to see you drive in and out of shop first time.
It’s like living my restoration dreams.....from the couch ! Metal work I get, do quite a bit of fab at work, but GLASS , freaks me out, now that I’ve seen how you do it, I’ll file that for future ref ! Awesome videos !
I have to stop watching but I can't! Everytime I start making progress on my L110 your next video comes out. Great job once again. Looks like I found the guy for all my trim pieces. Noticed it all on the parts truck you got the windows from. I'm looking forward to the Christmas break to get a major portion done. Guaranteed will be looking back to these videos for motivation!
I was driving a "COOL" car with no head restraints . Unfortunately , my car was rear-ended , and I suffered a severe back injury . When you drive "COOL" , you risk injury to you and / or your passengers . So.......Please , keep the head restraints ! By the way , you're doing a great job on that truck .
He’s a tip for cutting laminate glass once you make your cut pour some alcohol on the cut lite it on fire for 30sec or so bending the glass up and down..I was a glass cutter for 10 year back in the day 👍
Awesome, Glass. Progress. Had me breathing hard watching you carry all them different seats in.. lol Best part will be in the end to see how all the hard work pays off to drive it around and smile..
In 83 I was stationed in FT Riley Kansas and purchased a 1973 Satelite Sebring Plus. The exterior was already done but the interior was a mess, I recovered the front buckets and backbench and then I made my own console to fit my arm and even installed a new cassette deck. A few years ago I had a van! A very large Ford E250. There was alot of space between the seats, so again I designed and built a console out of some old flooring with compartments in the lift top and large and small cup or can holders. a couple of years ago I did the same with a Chevy Silverado.
I'm liking the truck the seat's look good and fit it . Well it's going to be interesting to see how it looks out going down the road looking forward to seeing that. 🤓
what a great looking twin cab truck i love the way you go about all the mods no f king around you just make up your mind and do it cheers cs nsw australia
ya' MOVE ya' MEAT, ya' LOSE ya' SEAT! Coolest trash truck ever, cool story too! Unreal how you visualize making a square window from old left over triangles dude?! ...Then proceed to cut ur own glass from a crusty cracked windshield!? Although I did prefer the COORS box to begin with. Under that back seat is where the custom subwoofers go with the amps bolted flat to the back!
You are the MacGyver of restoration. I would end up spending $1000's on what you do with your hands and spare parts in your junk yard. Very impressive!!
I pull my 5th wheel with a f350. I said to myself that if I ever won a lottery I would build a truck with an old school cab. This is close to what I’d have. Awesome build.
I really like this build and I bet, hell, I know Filthy Rich @ Deboss Garage would love it too. This channel is one of the best I've discovered in 2020 of the genre. 30k in subs is a good start and with consistent content like you produce it should garner you 230k subs. Here's looking to the new year 2021!
Use kerosene as a lube for the cutter. The oil reduces the surface tension of the glass and helps the crack propagate. Dip cutter, tap drop off, cut. Cut & Crack both sides. Wipe score clean, pour a line of 91% alcohol along score & light. When flame goes out bend to stretch the laminate for cutting. May take 2x, but yields excellent results, take time, less chipping. When grinding, use a light oil like WD40 on the sand paper. You can achieve very nice results with a hand held belt sander running 120. Go really easy on the 1st swipe as to not catch the paper or excessively chip the glass. Spray paper often. You can make very nice frosted edges and even out lumps. Wear a mask. Try it on some junk glass to get a feel. An old piece of carpet on the workbench also helps grip the glass and prevent scratching. Dense commercial or outdoor type. Inspiring build!
The seats are good. Still need a couple wheelbarrows for the firewall. I'm a glazier I was cringing the whole way through the window bit, lol. Hey but you pulled it off for the most part. Great progress so far.
Some guys have hobbies like golf, painting, woodworking,... then there's Brent! I'm not sure if this is a hobby or an obsession! Great job Brent, Merry Christmas to you and your family as well! Cheers
She looking sweet I kinda like the green. Glass but I think that's pricy better to tint the windows ,really dig on the seats awesome job Brent 😎 thanks for postings

💯👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻I absolutely love this channel and the way you just cut stuff up and mix it up putting it back together making sweet trucks great job, keep up the great work AY 😂🤣💯💪🏼🙏🙏🙏🙏
Man with talent for everything inside a scrap metal garage, including cutting glasses! Good soldier, if you run with good will you never get tired, God bless! If you leave this guy inside a jungle with a screwdriver he will scape piloting a plane!
Looking great! I like the modified Ammo can idea for a center console. It's metal so you can make it however you want it and paint it the body green when you paint the truck 😉🙂
I honestly have never seen someone cut class in a home garage. That’s very impressive
My wife's YJ didn't have much room for a center console so I used 2 ammo boxes. A bigger on on the bottom and a smaller one on top, cut a hole in the bottom one near the front and put a cup holder in it. Worked out mint.
That would fit well with the theme of this truck. Just an ass kicker. Great idea
The pup loves that first seat.👍

I've seen 2 door's made into 4 door's before but this is the most practical and best conversion I've ever seen done, and it's a great looking truck !
Looking awesome! Those seats are much better! Thanks an God bless!

Your perseverance is paying off Brent. The beast is coming together.

I have been watching this guy for several episodes and subscribed today. This guy gets 'er done. He does more in 1 video than I do in two or 3 weeks.
Factory made is all I can say.. Love the way that truck is coming like the way that back seat works my old chevy had same interior and liked the function. Ready to see you drive in and out of shop first time.
Wow my friend you never get tired of working always working hard ... good job 👏👏
this process may seem simple to you but it is very interesting to me. i am really enjoying this, the glass cutting was exceptionally interesting.
It’s like living my restoration dreams.....from the couch ! Metal work I get, do quite a bit of fab at work, but GLASS , freaks me out, now that I’ve seen how you do it, I’ll file that for future ref ! Awesome videos !
Glad you went with bucket seats looks way better!

Thanks for sharing another great video with us!👍. And as always your secrets are safe.😁
Enjoyed seeing how you cut the wind wing glass; you made it look easy!
I just love this body style. It reminds me of the later style 50 series White trucks that were assembled just north of Salt Lake in those days.q

What an artist! Love your work.
Doing a great job, love how it's coming along, I don't think your going to get that seat back, I believe your other pup claimed it.😂😁😂
Bro!!! i didn't know you could cut laminate glass?! Thats awesome!! Opens up loads of possibilities...
for a console I like an ammo can with a pad on top.... durable and functional
I like the windows. The seats are so spot on (as you like to say). Nice to see the truck coming along so close to Christmas.
OOH! GOOD IDEA!!!
@@asn413 actually ammo cans are too short. Gerry can is better.
She looking sweet I kinda like the green. Glass but I think that's pricy better to tint the windows ,really dig on the seats awesome job Brent 😎 thanks for postings
What a beautiful and cute dogs! What a intersting project, amazing truck, perfect skills and wonderful job! I really love your channel! Very impressive and so good people! Greetings from Bulgaria!
You do more in one day, than some do in a week! And you do it well !
Great job buddy
Seats turned out good 👍
I put a 6 way Blue Leather bench into my 1970 Suburban. I was Cruzin' in style...man o man...
Really coming along nicely!

Man with talent for everything inside a scrap metal garage, including cutting glasses! Good soldier, if you run with good will you never get tired, God bless! If you leave this guy inside a jungle with a screwdriver he will scape piloting a plane!
You did an excellent job on this truck. Doors shut perfectly.(like a brand new truck). You should paint it 2 tone.
Console from a mid 90's Ford explorer works great in those tight spaces. It also has cup holders.
Of course you have to keep the seat in the shop for the little puppy lol and its looking a hell of a lot better every video
Going to need a good sized hydro boost system to stop those wheels and tires...
You have done such a great job, please paint the outside 1 color, with spray cans if nothing else. I love it!
I'm impressed with how well the doors shut. You'll spend years yelling "Don't slam the door!" 😳😁
That truck is just plain ole bad ass. Love to have it to daily and pull my race truck. 💪👍
Amazing work Brent. You've come a long way in just under four weeks.
OMG, I'm so glad you finally scraped the lichen off the cab! I'm so OCD, that would have been the first thing I would have done...
Man, you are the Costco of spare Old Truck & Car parts.
Sweet build doing good Brent!
Looking great! I like the modified Ammo can idea for a center console. It's metal so you can make it however you want it and paint it the body green when you paint the truck 😉🙂
Vent Window gave you a had full. Thanks for sharing :-)
Pro tip: Cut glass under water or in a small shoe box puddle prevents cracks and makes it way easier.
Spot on as usual, nice one.
You are a bad man,,, keep up the encouragement.
Keeps getting better everyday.
Awesome work you are doing man, you have one cool truck.
Awesome build going on love that truck
