Mahalo for letting us all in on this side of your life Robby...all very clean rides, from the pictures you shared...&, love the Studebaker...it seems that, quite often, an individual who is highly accomplished & talented in one aspect of their life, will also show flair & talent in another, completely unrelated, aspect of their life...my sister used to manage the group practice for pediatric neurosurgeons in Dallas...in adddition to being highly accomplished surgeons, many were also very talented musicians & artists--&, quite a few shared an appreciation for exceptional automobiles as well...the cream always rises to the top, as they say...I appreciate your humility as well...Aloha, Bill
My great-grandfathers used to work for Studebaker from 40s to the company's closure in 1963. Such a beautiful piece of my family history. Studebaker is always my favorite classic car. There's nothing like it.
Hello from Colorado Springs, Colorado! Thanks for posting that video Robby! What a gorgeous truck! Cool to know more of your story. My dad told me about his first car, also a Dodge Charger, and his grandpa used have a Hudson car dealership...a long timer bought some parts from my grandma when I was a kid. He took us all for a ride in his beautiful cherry red Hudson with the big white-wall tires, couldn't tell you what model or year, but it was my first time over 100mph and it felt like we were floating! Magical! Appreciate you man, mad respect! -- Mark W.
My dad bought a 48 brand new. Had 4 sons and we all learned to drive with it. Was my only ride till i bought a 55 chevy for 85$. So had some hot dates in the studdy when 16 Older brother in colo still has it. All stock. I want a ride. Use to go maui every year when still windsurfing. Pre kite - pre winger. We never took the keys out of it. People didnt know how to start it. Over pressed in clutch pedal to hit start solenoid Sweet ride!!! Thanks for sharing.
Dear god Robbie, when you got your Dodge Charger back in ‘81 I was taking my Jet GTS windsurfer (I don’t think they made it to USA and it would have been rubbish in your waves) to Abersoch, Wales to participate in the UK Windsurfing championships. The board was on my Austin Allegro 1750 HLS and it’s well worth a Google just to see the the differences of cars and boards. How did I do? Mid fleet mediocrity, but I remember passion as the then UK champion (Andy Biggs) and the Dutch champion (Ben Wesseling) had a “difference” at the windward mark. They were still trading blows in the water when I came past them at about 20th position. Always watched US-1111 with a keen eye over the years. Oh yeah, love that Studebaker - that’s a proper car. I’ll be out on the SUP soon thinking of younger days flying across the Solent. Now I have 425hp on the water and a galley! Keep up the great work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
My dad used to have the Studebaker President with the Hill Holder, he loved it. Now I have two Robby Naish wings that I use with my Snakeboard and Landboard. Crazy world sometimes.
The other way to protect the planet to keep other people away from drive these precious pieces of car history 😇 What about your Audi Quattro which ended up in a sugar cane field? Moin from Hamburg 🤙🏼
Thanks Robby. Like to see other sides of your life. Greets from Germany.
