- Chris Hemsworth has said his preparation to play Hulk Hogan will be insanely physical, and that he will have to put on even more muscle than when he played Thor.

Heard in an interview with hulk hogan. Hogan says he is 6ft 4inches today. He said he lost 3 inches of his height due to being power bombed for more than 20 years. Over 15 back surgeries. Crazy stuff!

I have 16inch arms and Chris is bigger than me so maybe his are 18-19”. He could still put on a stone of body weight on before the role starts. Yes he’s never going to be as big as Hogan but a good choice if you need a seasoned actor that can do the role justice. Looking forward to this as Hogan was part of my childhood 👍

@@wingedhussar1453 Basicly yes. Hogan's 130kg to his 2m is not that heavy. Chris has good physique and have to gain so just increase amount of food and he will gain. 20-30kgs is alot though.

In terms of size difference: hulk lost a couple inches of height in old age due constantly landing on his back with his signature leg kick. All people shrink a little when they get old, but with hulk it was a big shrinkage due to back compression. But he regained some of his height after he quit wrestling. You are comparing a young hulk vs young Stallone then a picture of old hulk and old Stallone. Old hulk is much shorter do to the medical issue with his back. Although the movie did exaggerate the size difference a bit- you can look up old videos of hulk in the 80s on talk shows and stuff and see he really was that massive. I saw big show in real life at a wrestling event- these guys really are giants. In real life they actually look bigger than they do on TV.

Hulk Hogan stated that he's lost a few inches in height due to spinal compression from years of performing his finishing move. That would explain why he's not as tall compared to Sylvester Stallone as he was in Rocky 3.

Chris will need not only to say his prayers and eat lots of "juicy" vitamins (as someone already posted previously) but there was one other supplement that Hogan was taking that he will need as well. Cant remember exactly what it was but I think it started with a "C" and ended with "ocaine".
And remember hulk spin compressed after years of the leg drop. He was really 6'7 but has shrunk a lot after many surgeries and damage. Chris is gonna be amazing cant wait.

Just fyi, 24 inch arms on someone who is 6'7 are going to look smaller compared to someone who is 6'1 with 22 inch arms.
Also, Stallone is 5'8 but will often wear lifts. Van Damme is 5'8 and you can find pictures of them together and they are the same height. Hogan use to be 6'7, but no longer is after old age and multiple back surgeries. 2:02 is a legit picture and can find other scenes during the movie that will prove it.

Hogan was never 6’7. That’s just that exaggerating billing pro wrestling/boxing/mma like to use. He was prob around 6’3-6’5 range.
Hemsworth listed at 6’3, he’s not that far off height wise, but he’s just got a different build then prime Hulk. Hemsworth long and lean, HH more bulky with more body fat. Just little nuances. When the movie comes
out I can see hemsworth doing a fantastic job.

You're definitely right about 24 inch arms looking smaller on someone 6'7". I admit, the concept of lifts was something new to me - that's Hollywood for you I guess! I was aware that Hulk Hogan had a lot of back surgeries, I just didn't realise it had such an impact on his height. The film I always think of for reference was Suburban Commando - he was taller than Christopher Lloyd (5'11") but definitely didn't look 6'7"
Hogan's arms were never even close to 24 inches. Look at pictures of Kiril Sarychew from four years ago, when he held the bench press record. That's what 24 inch arms look like. He also is the same height as Hogan in his prime at 6.5. The 6.7 claim for Hogan is also exaggerated.

That would be a catastrophe. That means his entire face and body would be cgi, just no. Terrible idea. The last movie I saw with the aging crap was with Robert Deniro and he looked ridiculous, his face was slightly younger but the way his old body was moving was just plain out laughable.

@@LouieTzepher It’s not just that. Say the technology has advanced until this point, it still would mean that every shot Hogan is in, would be a VFX shot. Even Marvel uses the de-aging for small scenes, and their budgets are the biggest ones you can get.

When I met him he waqs much younger...they used to hold the wrestling matches every Wednesday night at the Miami Beach Convention Center, and I worked for the contracted security company All-Star Security...and they always assigned me to the back entrance (skinny kid of 16-17 years old guarding a door LOLOLOL) but I saw all the wrestlers as real people and not their characters....most were really nice guys and not jerks like their characters, When he started out Hogan was always a heel, with all the flexing & stuff people hated him...but back stage always had a smile aqnd nice thing or two to say as he came in and left. The nicest guy was the Iron Sheik who ALWAYS was a heel. They portrayed him as not knowing much English, but in fact he spoke great English and he always slipped me a $10 bill as he left & would ask about how I was doing in school, and encouraged me in working hard in school. NOTHING like the mean guy they had him play....and he had arms bigger than Hogan I think. He flexed his arm once for me and I swear I heard the shirt rip a little LOLOLOL that is impressive to a 17 year old kid !!!

@@LukeSherran I found a couple of pictures of me and a new car my wife & I had bought back in 1986...me being silly, but you can see just how skinny I was and this is after being married for 4 years & eating her good rich Greek and middle eastern food (she was born * raised in Miami but her grandparents had come from Greece) I gotta get those scanned and you guys will have a howl. Day i got married I was 6ft 2 and 135 lbs and after 4 years of marriage I only weighd about 140 lbs LOOLOLOL My wife out weighed me on my wedding day LOL

You can't compare young Hogan pic to old Hogan pic when referencing height. He's lost 3 to 4 inches in height do to knee and back issues/surgeries, he's had over the years.

Also you loose height with age anyway, I'm in my 50s and have lost almost 2 inches in height for when I was in my 20s and 30s

A good comparison is the rock who's supposedly 6'5 , if you see the video where he and Kevin Hart met Anthony Joshua who is 100% 6'6 , you will see the Rock is really 6'2 or 6'3 max

Checking past matches of Hogan and Batista, they have the same height.
WWE is famous at changing the heights of most of their WWE wrestlers.
So, Chris H is actually taller than Hulk.
Hogan lost a lot of height after his multiple back surgeries. He is probably 6’3 today. A little north of 6’5 at his peak. Close to a legit 6’6”. He was billed at 6’8” and 320. But he was really about 290 to 300.

Hogan is smaller for two reasons: 1- Multiple operations to his back mad him shrunk. 2 He's aged. We all know that as we grow old, we shrink. So this could sum up to him being smaller than he was. In the Rocky movie he clearly stood on a box or something just like Andre the Giant first did when he came to the WWF.

Don't worry so much about the physical stuff, the face, the eyes, the attitude and the intensity of the hulk are what is the most important element of portraying him. Very intense. I think he can do it.
Well....I think Chris can do anything for starters! Totally love this guy. I do think that he will have to work more on his legs though, he is not known for his musclely legs but for his arms, personality and manners. Great guy but then I am slightly biased.
Hogan had more of a power lifter physique. He was like 330lbs in his prime and really wasn't ripped, but he was a mass monster. Absolutely enormous

It was Hogan's leg drop that led to his loss in height. Doing that move over and over for all those years took a serious toll on his back, which led to his back issues.

The height difference between Hogan and Stallone was a lot less afterwards in that real life pic because Hogan had to have spinal fusion surgery which shortened him by about 4 inches after he picked Andre the 550 lb Giant over his head in a wrestling match which is a miraculous feat of strength, in my opinion.

I had heard Andre was only about 440 lbs. Still a superb (not miraculous since I believe no supernatural intervention was involved) feet of strength.

The image you have of Stallone and Hogan standing next to each other with them being 'nearly the same height'. I've heard Stallone frequently wears lifts in his shoes during events to enhance his height (as do quite a few Hollywood actors like Tom Cruise for instance).
There's no way Chris only had 16 inch arms in Thor, granted he's much leaner than me, but mine are currently 17 and I'm not his size

The lower your body fat even if the measurements of ones arms are smaller there going to look way more impressive than a higher fat arm. Being leaner gives the illusion of being bigger. I think alot of guys could really imbrace that fact and put the fckn fork down lol

For someone like you who most probably have not done any squats in their entire life would think roids is actually the answer for body transformation for actors.
Hogan really did dwarf rocky. The difference then and now is hogan has lost about 3 inches from back and knee injuries and age and Sly now wears huge lifts in his boots to give a near 6 foot appearance. That closes a near 1 foot difference to less than 6 inches.
As far as Hogan’s arms. They were definitely bigger than Arnold’s, but not as impressive. Arnold’s were 22.5, but if Arnold packed as much fat as hulk had they would have been over 24 inches probably.

Hogan today is still probably close to 6’4 if he can stand erect. Hogan is still a tall guy despite the age, posture, and all the back and knee surgeries.
I would say early to mid 80’s 6’6. Maybe slightly taller. Now 6’3.5 and 6’4 if he could manage to stand straight
@@Injectedracing hogan wore lifts too. in public he always wore cowboy boots. comparison with sly is very hard because of the height discrepancy. compare him with taller dudes like Sid, Zeus and etc. can't buy 6ft 6. maybe very very weak 6ft 6 on a good day early in the morning. lol
