I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this comment is, or whether its agreeing or disagreeing with Freddys choice to buy clothes. Freddy is a fashion influencer, she teaches people how to build wardrobes which people will actually wear, which surely reduces the amount of one-time-wear items of clothing we buy? This is Freddys job, and when she clears out her wardrobes all of her clothes go for sale on depop so they're not being wasted. loving and cherishing clothes the way freddy does isnt why we have so much waste, it's the people who dont really care about clothes and buy loads of trends that are low quality, then throw them out the second they're no longer trendy.

However, definitely not all factories are like this. Many are making large move towards sustainability, paying attention to quality of their materials, and hiring fair labor.

Something I’ve seen recently is cropped / short trench coats which have a similar vibe to the classic longer ones, however slightly more casual and could definitely be worn on someone younger IMO.
