@@dw0x you ever feel like it messes with the attack / and or smack of your 808s? Also, if your side chaining the kick to the 808, is there any reason to do this since the kick frequencies will already be over riding the 808?
This is, for the record, not soft clipping. When you turn the threshold on the soft clipper all the way up and exceed it, you are hard clipping. There is no more knee. Do what he did, and then load Fruity Waveshaper without changing anything and compare the two. They do the exact same thing. That is hard clipping. You can also do a phase test
I will say I like this but I’m noticing the kick seems distorted some instead of sounding full. But I personally think it’s from not being able to hear the low fully because I don’t have monitor speakers.
I'm not gonna lie this video helped me out a lot for some reason...its just the way he made the kick hit was different from what I would do...this works without even clipping...its crazy
You're probably the best teacher for us learners on UA-cam.. I would really like you to do more Reggaeton and Latin Dancehall tutorials.. Please? One based on the artist Sech from Panama.. Please? This was a great quick tutorial.
Every time I look up something related to my production, I find that Busy Works Beats already has a video that answers my question, and there's no 20 minutes of fuckery for no reason either lol.
Can you explain the theory behind why this works? what does pulling the threshhold all the up actually do, and why pull the mixer volume down to push the sampler volume up worked the way it did? I tried messing the other volume knobs in those three's place but it seem like I couldn't do it... But when I did followed the steps to a T it worked like magic thanks!
From what I've heard if you haven't ever used fl then you don't have anything to lose using the latest version (fl 20)...its just people got used to the old layout and decided to stick to an older version...again that's just what I've seen and heard online
aye ion know if i can explain this right but when i put ANY sound in my project my envelope wont ever show up. when i first downloaded fl i did but i was experimenting wit hecka studd so im sure i did something to take it away... you know how to get envelope back into the sound editor? right now i only have the waveform looking icon and the wrench looking icon at the top.
you have to open the sample in a new sampler channel (so it's the sample of your track you're changing, you can't change your sample bank or it would be messy lol)
Quickest video ever
Title "in under 3 minutes" video: in under two minutes
That's not a bad thing
video: in under 1 minute 46 seconds
Sue him for false advertising
1:46 IS under 3 minutes
@@onyma2789 no its exactly 1:46
hi man!you teach more in 2 minutes than a lot of people in 20,thanks bro!
This is crazyyyyy, man appreciate this! Ive been trying multiple methods w compression and other sh!t but this is so far the easiest and best method.
Yes! Can you do 808s next??
You can do the same thing, if you want it to stand out distort or boost the mid range frequencies and it will be more present in your mix.

808s use an EQ at 30 hz preset. And the volume up and it will slap along with this guy’s tutorial on the kick
