First off thank you again Pan for updating us with new products and showing us how they perform and how to apply. Thank you for what you do, from the video you provided, it seems the product does a phenomenal job at correcting the imperfections and following it up,wit awesome gloss topped with some protection. I am going to purchase some and try it out,
Agreed. Years ago I totally forgot to tell the dealership NOT to wash my car. It was in the middle of a Northeast winter, I let my car go for weeks on end without washing it because of the bitter cold, it was a black car and when I went to pick my car up I was convinced it wasn’t my car! They gave me a “courtesy wash”, they must have used one of those brushes and it looked like someone sanded my car. I won’t ever make that mistake…
Yup. Tape one Post-It note with painters tape on the Steering Wheel and one on passenger Dash.. “Do not Wash or Wipe”. I also have them put a permanent note on my account that pops up when I take my car in for any service.
Night & day difference pan! We have the same rogue & saw those swirls despite no dealer washing & always employing the best wash techniques. Great video! 👍🇨🇦
I found this incredibly helpful and simple. Thank you. Would you please make a video like this about polishing paint? Take us through the simple steps, how to remove tar, how to add paint to rock chips, and polish. If you did it this simply it’d blow up.
Excellent video Pan and the results were stunning. The Flex polisher looks sweet and balanced and I am definitely envious of it. Thank you for a great video as your videos always make me want to go out and clean up my ride.
What pad would you recommend if using this AIO on generally maintained paint? Now that I have a 4 mo old, I appreciate products that save time and energy. Thanks for the video!
7:00 TIP FOR PROPER MIX: Before I start working with liquid polish or any other liquid that is an emulsion, I shake them then turn the bottles upside down. An hour before I work. Then I give them a quick shake again before starting. I do the same with any spray paint can.
@@dragonwithak6051 It depends on the products viscosity. Also the type of emulsion. The product is in it's bottle for a long time and deposits can and will accumulate in the bottom. Even with a good shake, the particles might not mix well and stay agglomerated in the liquid. (float as clusters) Let gravity work for you at the beginning of the process. (little trick we do in laboratory work)
Great video, Pan. I need to do the lenses and mirror caps on my car and this video will help me out a lot. I already have all of the aforementioned products, so now I know exactly what to use. Keep up the great work.
All I can say is wow 😮 that was amazing 👏 great job pan 👍 ….btw I don’t remember ever seeing one of your tutorials about headlights ? I would love to see one 👍 thanks 🙏
Fantastic video Pan! I'm going to polish and ceramic coat my second car at some point in the summer and this video gave such good information regarding tail lights👏🏻.
Awesome video. Sonax Perfect Finish and Rupes Uno is still in my polish collection. Swirl Killer Micro with 2 inch pad works for head and tail light polishing.
@@PanTheOrganizer so far I haven't had to do any cutting so I stick with a white pad. Of all the vehicles I've used UNO on, they've all been brand new vehicles with very small paint defects.
Hello Pan, thank you for all your videos and instructions. I have a question for you. I bought a brand new Mazda CX-5 last February. How can I protect my head lights and tail lights?
Congrats on your new CX-5. You would apply the same protection as your paint. Ideally a long lasting ceramic coating. That will prevent the lights from oxidizing and yellowing over time. A new car is never new until it's properly detailed. - at the factory, the paint defects are often corrected quickly by rotary polishing which can leave marks and holograms, so polishing corrects those, before you lock that in long term with a ceramic coating for example. - vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc - vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements - at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches - at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery. It's crucial to remove any previous protection before you apply a ceramic coating, as coatings need to bond directly to a virgin clear coat. If you only plan on applying a regular carnauba wax or paint sealant though, you could decide to skip machine polishing, as those protectants can be applied over existing protection and it's not as crucial to prep the paint as well. I explain all of this in this popular video: ua-cam.com/video/QgoyrC-5CMc/v-deo.html So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car from two of my customers: Aston Martin Vantage: ua-cam.com/video/OKga3yZVTqo/v-deo.html Tesla Model Y: ua-cam.com/video/gohks8xP5NY/v-deo.html Porsche 911 Carrera: ua-cam.com/video/2ckiivbFqs4/v-deo.html Audi Q7: ua-cam.com/video/t7HCBSVnizM/v-deo.html BMW M6 Gran Coupe: ua-cam.com/video/0lC9uyKXs8Q/v-deo.html BMW M340i: ua-cam.com/video/etXhJNaF0EE/v-deo.html Audi RS3: ua-cam.com/video/641mAJfKDLM/v-deo.html Golf R: ua-cam.com/video/jr19g4PWJsk/v-deo.html
What order would you address head and tail light in for a complete car detail? like for sure after was, clay, decontamination but then paint, tail and head light and glass last??or paint being very last? also if coating glass/wheels/paint would that change the process order?
Pan, can you do a feature please on the new Adam’s graphene boost?! Just seen a comparison video on Bel Levaro channel and it has INSANE chemical resistance and the water beading to match! All the benefits of the best spray sealant but without difficulties of using a DIY ceramic 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great results, I have a big bottle of Advanced waiting on my shelf to be tested out looks like another awesome product I liked uno protect Advanced will be even better 👌🏻🇨🇦
A true coating (glass bottle) would certainly last longer. But if you want to apply a true coating, it has to bond directly to the surface, and not on top of the Uno Advance. So if you want longer lasting protection, might as well do the entire procedure to perfection, meaning: water sanding, compound, polish, IPA wipe and a ceramic coating applied is usually the best restoration method. That's if the headlights are really faded/oxidized. If they're in good shape, then a light polish with something like Sonax Perfect Finish, followed by a paint prep spray (like CarPro Eraser) and then the ceramic coating is perfectly acceptable.
Wow! Amazing results, my car looks the same in certain areas because of the dealer's crappy tunnel washes, even though I asked them not to wash it! Is this new uno polish just as good on paint?
Yes Rupes Uno Advanced is as good on paint, as long as you know its limitations. This is an all-in-one type polish, meant to correct light imperfections, swirls and scratches. If you have severe deeper scratches/swirls and heavy oxidation, it's best to use the traditional method of compound, polish, IPA wipe and then ceramic coating.
Awesome demonstration. The tail light looks great. If you own your car for many years and take care of it about how many times can you polish it? You only have so much clear coat?
Ideally, you would apply a true ceramic coating on it (that lasts for years) and do proper maintenance washes yourself that way you won't have any swirls or scratches if you use safe washing and drying methods. But if you vehicle goes through tunnel washes, gets washed at the dealership, or you use improper washing and drying methods, you will have to polish often. How much is impossible to tell, as it will vary between car makes, models, etc. You could also decide to have a paint protection film applied to them so they resist scratches and swirls.
This is a hose I recommend: amzn.to/3M3Q2ds We talk about pressure washers at different price points, and accessories in this video: ua-cam.com/video/_UwK_0VDK0o/v-deo.html
Pan what protection would you recommend for tail lights? Currently I used griots garage all in one polish which give a a few months of protection… I wanted to use an IPA to remove that protection and give it something that will last longer
@@PanTheOrganizer do you have a suggestion for a cheap one? Normal coatings have a shelf life, don’t wanna open up a bottle just for a set of head lights
You could do the same on headlights too, but keep in mind, neglected headlights that are heavily yellowed, oxidized and/or have a hazy/chalky white appearance, typically need more polishing techniques. Water sanding, compound, polish, IPA wipe and a ceramic coating applied is usually the best restoration method. If they headlights are only lightly faded, and you don't have the time or all the tools for a full restoration, you can also use a quick tool-less method like in my headlight restoration tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/sqpXsBcVako/v-deo.html
Nice video as usual. It would be interesting to see a side by side detail video with you and Jim White from White Details in Britain. That would be a show that would go down in history.
Thanks Eric! I did a collab with Jim a few years ago in this video: ua-cam.com/video/pJhMRVH_mu8/v-deo.html But yes doing something together in person one day would be cool. He's a great guy and outstanding professional detailer.
Great job as always Pan, when my car goes to the main dealer I tell them don't wash it , they did it once and it came out dirtier than it went in there was water marks all over it 🙉🙉

WOW!!! That is awesome! Someone told me about a coating perhaps unrelated to this tip. However I wanted to get your thoughts or maybe you might do a little video. Have you heard of, or tried a coating call Diamond Body 36 from the Rag Company? Thank you again as always Pan you are the best!
Would like to see you do some very faded headlights to see how to make them back to like new. Ones that are a little bit out of just polishing out and needing a sanding first and the step by step guide to get rid of the oxidation

Great video as always, thank you! I recently did a hand sanding/polishing with a turtle wax kit and then sealed with a wet wipes coat and uv protection provided in the kit. Later I bought a DA polisher and now want to improve the results. Do you think it's okay to do as in this video despite an extra layer of coat and uv protection on my headlights?
If they headlights are only lightly faded, and you don't have the time or all the tools for a full restoration, you can also use a quick tool-less method like in my headlight restoration tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/sqpXsBcVako/v-deo.html That's likely what you did in your case. If you want a deeper and more extensive headlight restoration to achieve maximum results for clarity and protection, you typically need more polishing techniques. Water sanding, compound, polish, IPA wipe and a ceramic coating applied is usually the best restoration method.
Excellent as always. Question, new daily driver, 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve only 6k miles, paint in very good condition, in bright white on the body and black roof line, I will still do paint correction with Sonax perfect finish, but intrigued with the Rupes Uno. What ceramic coating would you recommend? I was thinking the Gyeon Pure. What are your thoughts? Thanks again, all the best.
Keep in mind, you wouldn't use the Rupes Uno Advanced if you plan on applying a true ceramic coating (the ones in a glass bottle). UNO Advanced already lays down it's own protection, and you don't want that before applying a coating as coatings need to bond directly to virgin clear coat. UNO Advanced isn't meant to be used as a primer for ceramic coatings. UNO Advanced is meant as an all-in-one polish, meaning it takes care of light scratches/swirls and applies a thin layer of protection that can last 6 to 12 months. If you plan on applying a ceramic coating, use a polish that has no protection in it, like Sonax Perfect Finish for example. And after the polishing stage, use an IPA to wipe the surface of any polishing oils, and then you'd apply the coating.
Thanks! Hi Pan, nice to see you wielding the polisher. 😊 I was hoping you were going to use the Perfect Finish or the Rupes yellow polish, but still impressive results.

I don’t use PlastX so I have no opinion on its ability to restore tail lights. I know guys mainly use PlastX to restore the transparent plastic on the gauge cluster for example.
You know what works good for taping all the curves in a headlight? Electrical tape. Maybe not for the whole light but good for the big curves. It's a rubber tape so it bends around corners, use paper tape for straight sections.
You can just get thinner more malleable tape, made for detailing, like this: bit.ly/47sHdnF Welcome to my channel. In winter before a snow storm/icing event the state will spray on a dry road surface anti-icing liquid magnesium chloride which encourages cars to rust. The outdoor temperature now is 35° I have a 2 gallon pump sprayer which can be purchased at most gardening stores to add chemical to spray for bugs, if I put plain hot tap water in that 2 gallon container and spray inside the wheel wells to melt accumulated ice and dilute and rinse that chemical and also spray along the bottom half of the car doors is that a good or bad idea? Also seven months ago I properly prepped and applied Gyeon can coat and two weeks later topped it off with Gyeon Q2 wax and believe both are truly in place by the way the water runs off. TIA.
Yes that's a good idea Gerry. Any way to remove road salts and any chemicals used during winter on the roads is a good thing. Regular maintenance is key.
Thanks for this information like always Pan, question dose it matter if you mix match pads and compounds from different brands or do we have to use same pad brand and compounds?
Hi John! You could do the same on headlights too, but keep in mind, neglected headlights that are heavily yellowed, oxidized and/or have a hazy/chalky white appearance, typically need more polishing techniques. Quick question: What tones of light on your Scangrip light do you use with different surfaces? Does it depend on color? Material by chance (plastic or clearcoat..)? Thanks!
Yeah typically for dark colors you use a colder colo temperature (5000-6000K) and for light colors (whites, silvers) you use a warm color temperature (2700-3000K). Watch my video on Scangrip lights here: ua-cam.com/video/h5Fci8N2dO0/v-deo.html
Great demo as always, thanks! Loved seeing and hearing more about the Uno polish. Would it be reasonable to lightly polish headlights/tail lights once a year with this?
You could do the same on headlights too, but keep in mind, neglected headlights that are heavily yellowed, oxidized and/or have a hazy/chalky white appearance, typically need more polishing techniques. Hey Pan, So after waiting the required 15 minutes and you buff off the polish, is it okay to repeat the same steps if you haven't removed all the swirls? By repeating the same steps, would you then be removing the first coat of protection?
You could certainly repeat. Yes the polishing would likely remove the initial protection, but that doesn't matter, as you'd be laying done a fresh layer of protection with your second pass.
You could do the same on headlights too, but keep in mind, neglected headlights that are heavily yellowed, oxidized and/or have a hazy/chalky white appearance, typically need more polishing techniques. First thing at the dealer for maintenance: telling them not to wash it, second step put a paper in the dashboard *dont was the car*
I have a little tag that hangs from the rear view mirror that says don’t wash the car 😂
Correct. Never let dealerships do anything to your vehicle that's related to detailing.

(little trick we do in laboratory work)
@@dragonwithak6051 Keep shacking the hell out of it, people complicate things that are simple 🤣🤣🤣
Overcomplicate car detailing with this one simple step…

- vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc
- vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements
- at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches
- at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery.

Wonderful short and concise video. Thanks a lot. Can you please advise on how to remove spider cracks on front lights? Cheers.

What order would you address head and tail light in for a complete car detail? like for sure after was, clay, decontamination but then paint, tail and head light and glass last??or paint being very last? also if coating glass/wheels/paint would that change the process order?
I honestly just use Menzerna Light or mixed Light/Medium cut polish on tail lights and works great.
There are tons of polishes that you can use on tail lights for sure.
Excellent Pan!! Now let's see how much the protection stand. Really liking the Rupes products.
Rupes claims up to 12 months of protection. So I'm expecting 4 to 6 months in a harsh winter climate like ours here in Montreal.
Thanks Ken!
I wonder how thick this clear coating is on the lights, I wonder if you can remove it by polishing once
That looks great , easy process
Thank you
Thanks!
Wow, love the results and it wasn’t too time consuming. Would you recommend adding protection like a ceramic coating, if so, what would you use?
A true coating (glass bottle) would certainly last longer. But if you want to apply a true coating, it has to bond directly to the surface, and not on top of the Uno Advance.
So if you want longer lasting protection, might as well do the entire procedure to perfection, meaning:
water sanding, compound, polish, IPA wipe and a ceramic coating applied is usually the best restoration method.

Can tell me what brand of paint gage you use ?
Sorry gauge.. miss spell
Pan what protection would you recommend for tail lights?
Currently I used griots garage all in one polish which give a a few months of protection…
I wanted to use an IPA to remove that protection and give it something that will last longer
A ceramic coating for sure. Paint, glass, wheels, trim, lights, etc I like everything to be ceramic coated on my cars.
@@PanTheOrganizer do you have a suggestion for a cheap one? Normal coatings have a shelf life, don’t wanna open up a bottle just for a set of head lights
Hi Pan great work could we also apply the same techniques to headlights ??

Looks good. Could I use this on the front headlights after I compound and sand it? For the gloss and protection ?

Another great video pan! I have a question about your favorite glass coatings. In your opinion which is best for water beading Flyby Forte or Glico?
Glaco Ultra and it’s quicker/easier to apply
Would like to see you do some very faded headlights to see how to make them back to like new. Ones that are a little bit out of just polishing out and needing a sanding first and the step by step guide to get rid of the oxidation

That's likely what you did in your case.
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks for the info.
As always great video! I have always wondered why when doing headlights does everyone remove all the original coating? Why not use this same process?
Thanks! So when the headlights are heavily damaged, the water sanding will remove the clear coat, so you can start fresh and remove the oxidized clear coat which has failed at that point.

Hey Pan thanks for sending me to this video. With the uno advanced can a ceramic coating be put over it. Or it has to be naked clear coat?
No. You don’t use polishes with protection in them before applying a ceramic coating, as true coatings need to bond to a virgin clear coat.
You know what works good for taping all the curves in a headlight? Electrical tape. Maybe not for the whole light but good for the big curves. It's a rubber tape so it bends around corners, use paper tape for straight sections.
You can just get thinner more malleable tape, made for detailing, like this: bit.ly/47sHdnF

Looks great. Did you notice that the red in the taillight got darker and richer?
Absolutely. More clarity so you see all the details inside the tail light better, and the colors are more vibrant.
