I have recently flown to Bangladesh with Singapore Airlines and can I just say if it weren’t for your older Singapore Airlines video I would’ve flown Qatar instead. I took an Airbus A380 upper deck economy from Heathrow to Singapore however my flight was 8 hours delayed, Singapore airlines gave me and my family £120 to spend at the airport and when I was about to enter the plane one of the flight attendants gave us a Singapore airline key ring as an apology for the delay. I was suppose to have a 4 hour transit in Changi till my next flight to Dhaka however due to the 8 hour delay I missed it. When I exited from the plane at Changi there were a group of staff waiting for the passengers which have missed their flight and rebooked our Dhaka flight to the next one which was in 8 hours. They also gave us free accommodation to the hotel with a free taxi ride. The hotel was new and was amazing. Singapore airlines has impressed me so much and if it weren’t for your flight review on it I would’ve of flown Qatar. 😄

I flew on Singapore Airlines back in 2015 and it was the best service I've ever had in my life. I've never had the best service on Singapore Airlines from Kolkata to Singapore, from checking in the luggage to getting free tickets to rides, museums, sightseeing buses, and not to mention, I saved over $1000 and not to mention the inflight service such as hot towels, hot piping meals to the smoothest landing in SIngapore. I really recommend you fly on Singapore Airlines.
Never wanted to fly with another airline after my first trip to Australia with Singapore Airlines. LHR-SIN-PER. Been on 5 more return trips since all with Singapore and have flown 3 times in economy on the upper deck of the A380. Great cabin for economy class. I also like their B777-300. (My favourite aircraft.) Love your reviews Dan. x
Me too - I love the SQ economy on the upper deck, having said that, this year Im giving SIA a miss and travelling to Sydney on Cathay via HK. I hope i dont regret it!
Yes they do have a great Economy. Years back I flew their A380 on SIN-NRT, I was excited to be on A380 for the first time, this also was my first SQ flight. I tried to share this excitement with the guy sitting next to me, but he just looked at me like "cool down buddy, it just an airplane".. ;)
There's a reason why Singapore Airlines motto is "A Great Way to Fly". They are simply the best. My biggest complaint though about SQ is the wifi is ridiculously expensive.
I think their legroom in economy could be slightly better as well but I'm forever thankfull for not putting that terrible 3-4-3 config in their 777 so guess you can't everything.
Ugh god I miss flying with Singapore Airlines. I flew Premium economy with the A350 Stockholm - Moscow - Singapore, and then Premium economy Singapore - Sydney with their 777-300. It was a fantastic experience! I will never forget when the steward handed out the mini tubs of Ben & Jerry's on the 777, he almost bowed down when giving it to us. Shame Singapore Airlines is so expensive and hard to find seats on. I'm sure I would've been happy and comfortable even in Economy class.
As a Fin would love to see you do a review of Finnair A350 long haul. I know you did a signature flight with Finnair a350 but would be nice to see normal scheduled flight.
I recently flew the A350 from Helsinki to Seoul (and back) in both economy and business. I really recommend Finnair! The A350 has comfortable seats, both in economy and (especially) in business. It would be nice to see what Dan thinks of it.
As I can see, you love Singapore Airlines as I do. :D I only flew in Economy with them but I can always enjoy it. They just have the best Ecomomy ever. And I like that you included a bit from the safety video audio, I use it as my ringtone. :)
I live in Australia and whenever we go to Europe we always take Singapore airlines (we have to have a layover) and love it. One time i just asked for the tray because I didn’t like the options and the lady gave me a premium economy meal instead which was so nice.
I flew this 'route' last week, on the Singapore to Frankfurt leg on 9V-SKJ, in economy. It was fantastic, although I flew on their 777-300ER just before, and thought the the design looked much more modern and spacious. You did get an upper deck seat though, so that means storage bins, which is great :)

Top hotel or expensive flight with less expensive hotel it’s always a difficult one I live near Manchester Airport and big 380 goes out daily. Flown SIN-EWR-SIN in Premium Economy 2006, Then SIN-DME-IAH First Class (now via MAN) 2015 then back via JFK-FRA-SIN on that exact flight Dan in economy. Singapore Airlines will always be my favourite. They also have a consistent frequent flyer programme where you can actually redeem miles on flights you want. Keep up the good work Dan. Michael, R.P.
A lot of people hate the A380 for various reasons. I like it even though I've just flown it once, from SFO to Frankfurt. Very comfortable ride and rolling down the runway feeling the huge bird take off is unlike anything else in aviation.
I flew SQ A380 upper deck economy last year. Truly is the best way to fly. I’m going on the QF A380 next week and hoping to get the upper deck economy again.

Love how when u feature SIA in your videos, you always have their SQ boarding/landing music added. As a Singaporean when I fly SQ, hearing the music is especially heartwarming so the 🎵 in your video is music to my ears, literally. 😆
I flew Singapore Airlines from London to Tokyo and back this spring. It was my first time flying and I had such a great experience - the in-flight entertainment was great and the crew were so lovely! Plus Changi airport was a great layover because there's so much to do there. I'll definitely fly with them again!

Thanks for an objective and outstanding review of my favorite airline! I have been flying SQ since the early 80's and they are still the world's premier airline. One attribute that sets them apart from all other airlines is their fantastic cabin crew! One just can't receive that friendly, warm, caring and professional service on any other airline. The FA's seem to enjoy making their passengers comfortable and don't disappear on long haul flights unlike their competitors. Kudos to Singapore Airlines, keep up the great work!

Our usual route from Australia to Europe is Adl-Sin-Fra-Cdg-Sin-Adl. And until recently the flight from Adelaide to Singapore was a tired A330. Now we have the A350 so the 777 daytime flight to Frankfurt and the A380 from Paris makes this journey sensational. And we only fly economy with a stopover in Singapore each way. Brilliant! Love SQ

Hi Dan! I just did a roundtrip flight from JFK to Changi airport via Frankfurt on Singapore Airlines A380 for the first time a few weeks ago. I have never flown trans-Atlantic whenever I fly to Asia; I always fly trans-Pacific. In fact, I have never flown long-distance on SIngapore Airlines before. But looking at your reviews on Singapore Airlines being the best economy class really intrigued me. And A380 is a massive aircraft! I also opted for the upper deck due to the seat configuration (2-4-2 vs 3-4-3 on the lower deck). All and all, it was a really enjoyable experience. Flying for almost 24 hours is never fun, but flying on Singapore Airlines makes it more "bear-able", at east in my experience. ;) Thank you for your reviews, always very informative! As usual Dan you hit the nail on the head with Singapore air. I remember flying Hanoi via SIN and ICN t Vancouver with overnight in SIN as the best way (albeit longer) to get from Calgary to Hanoi without jet lag.

The 2 4 2 configuration for economy is because this use to be first class and they removed it, that's why you might find the windows don't line up properly with the seat and the storage bins to the side don't line up per seat, Emirates have done the same on some of there A 380s.
It made me happy to see that your vegetarian meals were things you enjoyed. It's wonderful to see economy travel that isn't just a "cattle car" with no thought for the comfort and convenience of the passengers in the cheap seats.
Great video as always! It's fantastic to have this option, I wish all economy classes were like this! The take-off & landing views are always one of my favorite moments, with great music to match in your videos. I avoid the lines by arriving at the airport towards the end of check-in, too.
I flew Lufthansa A380 in Economy on the upper deck last year from Frankfurt to New York. Although it was 50€ per person for the seat reservation, it was really worth it, such a small, quiet and spacious cabin. Loved it.
Totally agree, flew back from Singapore to LHR, my screen was broken and the crew literally pulled the whole seat apart to fix it. They then gave me some onboard spend which was great :)
That happened to me once on a MEL to SIN flight, and the grew gave me bags of chips, playing cards, extra drinks and a first class amenity kit and were so apologetic. SIA economy is by far the best economy product out there, with the service to match
I agree with you about SIA's A380 economy, having rode on the upper deck of an A380 once. One of the things I don't like about the newly-configured A380s is SIA removed the economy class section from the upper deck. I hope you consider taking Philippine Airlines soon. It has flights from New York and London to Manila.
I tried to fly Lufthansa A380 from SF to Germany this summer, but the connection was too short and I was worried about missing the flight. They promised me if I did miss it, they would put me on another flight that same day (United, of course), but that would defeat the purpose for me to fly out of SF in the first place. So I cancelled those plans for now and plan on doing it next year instead. And I had my seat booked, too, because it is so hard to get upper deck that you HAVE to book months ahead of time!!! Bummer!!

2-4-2 in the A380 upper deck only. Emirates also does the same. On the main deck it's a normal 3-4-3.

There are 2-4-2 config. on A330/340s and A380 upper deck only.

The 2 4 2 configuration for economy is because this use to be first class and they removed it, that's why you might find the windows don't line up properly with the seat and the storage bins to the side don't line up per seat, Emirates have done the same on some of there A 380s.

Great video as always! It's fantastic to have this option, I wish all economy classes were like this! The take-off & landing views are always one of my favorite moments, with great music to match in your videos. I avoid the lines by arriving at the airport towards the end of check-in, too.

I flew Lufthansa A380 in Economy on the upper deck last year from Frankfurt to New York. Although it was 50€ per person for the seat reservation, it was really worth it, such a small, quiet and spacious cabin. Loved it.
Favorite airline is Lufthansa. Simply the best in my opinion

Totally agree, flew back from Singapore to LHR, my screen was broken and the crew literally pulled the whole seat apart to fix it. They then gave me some onboard spend which was great :)
That happened to me once on a MEL to SIN flight, and the grew gave me bags of chips, playing cards, extra drinks and a first class amenity kit and were so apologetic. SIA economy is by far the best economy product out there, with the service to match
I agree with you about SIA's A380 economy, having rode on the upper deck of an A380 once. One of the things I don't like about the newly-configured A380s is SIA removed the economy class section from the upper deck.
I hope you consider taking Philippine Airlines soon. It has flights from New York and London to Manila.
I tried to fly Lufthansa A380 from SF to Germany this summer, but the connection was too short and I was worried about missing the flight. They promised me if I did miss it, they would put me on another flight that same day (United, of course), but that would defeat the purpose for me to fly out of SF in the first place. So I cancelled those plans for now and plan on doing it next year instead. And I had my seat booked, too, because it is so hard to get upper deck that you HAVE to book months ahead of time!!! Bummer!!
